Dr Adrian Harrop, who the funk does he think he is?

If you're not familiar with this supposed physician (yes, really), then you need to get over to Twitter and see this.

Harrop seems to spend most of his time harassing and insulting natal women whilst unquestionably supporting trans women. He is hiding behind his "medical expertise" and using it to shout women down.

It's both hilarious and terrifying! Shock

Actually that is just so unacceptable.

I keep thinking about the little boy I know who suffers with this. He has a host of social and medical issues.

What kind of fucking arsehole uses the plight of a child like that to insult women and tell them to shut up? To demonstrate how they are on the side of right? To show how much they value the vulnerable and the marginalised among us?

Sure if someone is actually ignorant of the origins of a term. But a DOCTOR?

BoreOfWhabylon · 17/06/2018 17:53

Well Bowl, he can say what he likes in private, of course. But putting it in the public sphere I would have thought contravenes GMC social media policy, linked further upthread.

Luckily, Sunset has screenshots

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 17/06/2018 18:09

If you are religious at all, this man would be considered a demon. At the very least, he has a dark soul and is evil.

nauticant · 17/06/2018 18:11

Who could have guessed that wannabe TV doctor and all-round misogynist Dr Adrian Harrop would also have been a fan of disablist language?

Datun · 17/06/2018 18:12

Not another one!

'Cretinous, bigoted, really disgusting and an utter disgrace'?

Does it never occur to these people to say something along the lines of, oh well, everyone is entitled to their opinion?

Answering with dignity and grace.

Not have some kind of toddler tantrum that makes them look as though they have no self discipline, no self-restraint, an ego the size of a planet and zero self awareness.

nauticant · 17/06/2018 18:15

If you want to build up your follower numbers on twitter, one of the best ways to do it is to demonise women. Everyone knows that!

Datun · 17/06/2018 18:19

And of course, yet again, the other thing is, saying something like that about mumsnet makes the world and his wife come over here to see what all the fuss is about.

And more gender critical women are born.

It's such an own fucking goal!

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 17/06/2018 18:20

Datun, reading Graham Linehan's twitter feed yesterday made me feel like Andy in The Shawshank Redemption! As if I'd just crawled through a rotten, stinking sewer. It was GRIM! Even though I despise these fools, I also almost feel pity for them.

To live life like that?😮

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 17/06/2018 18:21

Yy.

Sarahconnor1 · 17/06/2018 18:21

I would like to say I'm shocked at hi

Sarahconnor1 · 17/06/2018 18:23

Bugger.

I would like to say I'm shocked at his choice of language but I'm really really not. His whole Twitter feed is full of this kind of stuff, mainly targeted at women.

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 17/06/2018 18:37

He's a doctor!!😮

WOMEN.....KEEP AWAY FROM THIS ABSOLUTE DESPICABLE THUG!!!

Sarahconnor1 · 17/06/2018 18:45

He the brocalist version of Katie Hopkins.

Bowlofbabelfish · 17/06/2018 19:10

The problem is if you’re tweeting as a doctor you can't use language like that (well apparently you can if it’s directed at women, ho hum.)

I keep work and social media totally separate - but if I said something like that publically on a work account I’d expect to get pulled up very sharply on it. A lot of our work is patient facing, the rest is company facing and that is unacceptable language to use.

If you’re tweeting as a professional you need to keep your language and demeanour professional too. Private, anonymous non linked accounts are somewhat different - I’d say as long as you’re not linkable to work then you can say what you want...but you can’t mix. You can’t have the air of respectability the NHS gives you and act like that on twitter.

Except of course you can, because it’s directed towards women. It’s an unpleasant and disturbing feed - I would not want this person treating me, my children or any member of my family.

Kyanite · 17/06/2018 19:11

Looking for a vomit emoji but can't find one...

Sarahconnor1 · 17/06/2018 19:30

Bowlofbabelfish

If I had tweeted some of the stuff harrop has I would have been sacked in a heartbeat.

Which makes we wonder if he is actually working for the NHS. One trust categorically denied he worked for them anymore when some of his tweets were shown to them

Pratchet · 17/06/2018 19:34

Somebody looked into this. I'm not sure he does.

Pratchet · 17/06/2018 19:35

Actually it's even worse - last time I heard, he worked as a PIP assessor Shock

Sarahconnor1 · 17/06/2018 19:48

last time I heard, he worked as a PIP assessor

Such a worthy occupation for a labour/conservative/greens supporter.

FloralBunting · 17/06/2018 19:55

A PIP assessor? As if my estimation of the individual could get any higher!

Kyanite · 17/06/2018 20:04

PIP assessor...ideal job for a narcissist. Please God help people applying for benefits!

Pratchet · 17/06/2018 20:06

To be an assessor of how disabled people are, and to use the word cretinous. No words.

pombear · 17/06/2018 20:11

BoreOfWhabylon · 17/06/2018 20:19

According to the GMC he's in a GP training scheme. It lists the deanery concerned and the responsible officer.

I don't think there is anything to stop him also working as a PIP assessor though.

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 17/06/2018 20:29

😂 Love it, Pombear!

Poor old Adrain Harriop
His dad asked his mum will he have the op?
She said no
And the dad said hi ho
Looks like he will forever be fucked up!
