°I wonder what would have happened if she had tried to push past.^

They would have told the police they had been assaulted.

hmcAsWas · 21/04/2018 22:11

Nice attitude Hmm

ReluctantCamper · 21/04/2018 22:12

Yeah, it's like phrase 'Mumsnet scum' from the delightful Emma Healey. If you sound like the evil empire from Star Wars, there's a possibility that you are the baddy.

If you're standing on a stairwell threatening two peaceful middle aged women, there's also a strong possibility you're the baddy.

NotTerfNorCis · 21/04/2018 22:12

Trouble is, if anyone had tried to push past them they would have filmed it and then accused that person of assault. Angry

Tinycitrus · 21/04/2018 22:14

hmcAsWas

Can you explain what’s wrong with my ‘attitude’?

hipsterfun · 21/04/2018 22:15

Is this what happens when children are never told ‘No’?

BeUpStanding · 21/04/2018 22:17

Oh my fucking god. I never in my life thought I would see masked men physically stopping women from attending a public meeting to discuss proposed changes to UK law.

hmcAsWas · 21/04/2018 22:18

Meh, I really can't be bothered

Ritzsaltedcrackers · 21/04/2018 22:18

The TRAs are so fucking thick. Can’t they see that the video of their actions will peak trans so many people?

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 21/04/2018 22:18

Unbelievable. And her patience and calmness is extraordinary.

JustAnotherSpartacus · 21/04/2018 22:19

Yeah, too much living in a bubble.

Biggreygoose · 21/04/2018 22:20

Shock

That looks terrifying!

What event was this that masked men were preventing women attending? And the organisers were prevented from leaving??

LangCleg · 21/04/2018 22:21

These twits are so stupid - and privileged, not bloody oppressed! - that they actually do believe Joe Public is going to see valiant white knights and not twatty little black bloc-ers with posh accents.

They're so used to capitulation that they've completely taken leave of their senses.

doctorcuntybollocks · 21/04/2018 22:22

Biggreygoose

Perhaps the TRAs should have a rat's anus as their symbol.

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 21/04/2018 22:23

Did they give a reason (on camera) why they were preventing access? Did the women ask why they wouldn’t let them past?

LizzieSiddal · 21/04/2018 22:24

That is absolutely shocking.

How did they eventually get in?

Voice0fReason · 21/04/2018 22:24

It's an utter disgrace. I saw one on twitter trying to claim that they were afraid for their own safety.
These were men, intimidating women, trying to prevent them meeting to talk about issues that affect women.

Typeractive · 21/04/2018 22:25

Oh my fucking god. I never in my life thought I would see masked men physically stopping women from attending a public meeting to discuss proposed changes to UK law.

Exactly this. The conduct of these bully boys is beyond appalling.

LangCleg · 21/04/2018 22:27

Anyone remember Charlie Gilmour at the tuition fee protests? Lots of sympathy for students over the tuition fee rise and he singlehandedly destroyed half of it. That's what this lot reminds me of.

Your average civilian not at all involved in the gender debate does not like black bloc tactics. At. All.

Wanderabout · 21/04/2018 22:27

Yes Big, me too!

NotTerfNorCis · 21/04/2018 22:27

That woman in Magdalen's video. 'You f* c*! My pronouns are they!'. Jesus. H. Christ.

MissTeri · 21/04/2018 22:28

So if I accidently misgender someone - which is easy to do since some people think they're neither man nor woman and insist on being 'they' - then I'll be hit?! Unfuckingbelievable. I do believe I may have just peaked.
When I joined Mumsnet I watched the trans threads with interest, my ex FIL is transgender and my knee jerk reaction was to defend him (and all transgender people) without actually really understanding/listening to what was being said.
The fact is that my exFil is ashamed of being lumped in with these fucking half wits, they're making her life harder, much much harder. She has been offered support in various groups but she won't attend incase there are bell ends like that there. She is isolated for fear of being around them, not the rest of the population. Why can't they see what they doing to fellow trans people? Are they really so fucking ignorant!? I'm furious. I genuinely think that every time something like this happens it's a step back for trans people who just want to transition in peace.

EasterRobin · 21/04/2018 22:29

I would have been terrified trying to get past them. I'd heard one of the organisers discussing the masked men blocking the stairwell but had thought they were exaggerating. Having seen it on film, I can see that they really weren't exaggerating at all. I'm genuinely shocked.

Hyppolyta · 21/04/2018 22:29

I can not believe the police were in attendance and allowed this.

Its absolutely disgraceful behaviour, designed to intimidate. Thank God they were so pathetic and useless the event continued regardless.

What utter self centred little prats.
