It's clear from their Facebook post "celebrating" and this video that they are basically just trying to provoke the women so they would be able to cry "assault " I'm fucking glad no one there rose to it. Bravo!

Presumably anyone who saw anything about the Tara/Tanis Wolf trial will be aware that they are thugs and women constantly presenting themselves as not in any way violent is very powerful. They go low ... etc etc.

AmericanEskimoDoge · 21/04/2018 23:31

Obnoxious, self-righteous brats. Definitely not doing a thing to help their cause.

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 21/04/2018 23:32

I’m not sure why but I’m getting an error message when I click the link to sister uncut Facebook page empress

LizzieSiddal · 21/04/2018 23:32

Can someone tweet these films to Jess Phillips?

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 21/04/2018 23:38

Sorry Zib, not sure what happened there. This should work.

www.facebook.com/sistersuncutbristol/

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 21/04/2018 23:39

Yes that’s it now. Thanks empress

merrymouse · 21/04/2018 23:42

I wonder if any of this will find it’s way into the C4 TV programme?

Mumsnut · 21/04/2018 23:44

Or Brian Paddick

Ketkins · 21/04/2018 23:45

The guys outside are from Bristol antifascists same dudes who disrupted a Rees mogg talk and got faced down by him and left with their tails between their legs. I guess now they can't even intimidate a lanky Tory, let alone any actual fascists, they're now having a go at middle aged women instead.

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 21/04/2018 23:48

Their FB post from the night before the event is telling. Advising their attendees to wear masks, refuse to identify themselves, no comment with the police, refuse duty solicitor etc.

Hardly the expectation of people planning a peaceful protest Hmm

Ketkins · 21/04/2018 23:49

Bristol Sisters uncut are at least honest that 'sisters' no longer represents their membership accurately, this quote from their last meeting report:
'We felt that the name “Sisters Uncut” does not represent us and is an exclusionary name for various reasons, including being trans-exclusionary and having connotations with concepts of non-intersectional “Universal Sisterhood”. We propose a name change, for which suggestions are very welcome!'

So maybe they will go with misters uncut, who knows. Hmm

NotTerfNorCis · 21/04/2018 23:49

From the Sisters Uncut page:

At an event that claimed to be all about safe space for women, it’s worth noting that most of the physical violence enacted against us was by cis men.

No one reading that would realise those masked protesters were almost all male!

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 21/04/2018 23:52

Next they'll officially stop campaigning against VAWG & just focus on trans rights.

thebewilderness · 21/04/2018 23:52

How can they tell they were cis and not trans.

DamnDeDoubtanceIsSpartacus · 21/04/2018 23:53

This is the way abusive males behave, provoke and then criticise the reaction. Women who have been in abusive relationships will recognise this behaviour. Sad

thebewilderness · 21/04/2018 23:54

What does it mean that violence is enacted against them? Is that the latest euphemism for someone told them no?

merrymouse · 21/04/2018 23:55

connotations with concepts of non-intersectional “Universal Sisterhood”

Or in other words ‘all lives matter’ as a response to ‘black lives matter’...

merrymouse · 21/04/2018 23:57

most of the physical violence enacted against us was by cis men.

The police? Bouncers?

LizzieSiddal · 21/04/2018 23:57

Mumsnut yes Tweeting this to Brian Paddick is a good idea.

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 22/04/2018 00:15

Goodness me this is utterly, utterly shocking.

I had almost talked myself into going to a meeting but I’m pregnant and just can’t risk it. Fucking hell.

Such brave women, such childish men. But they are men - adults. They aren’t children, although they act like them. These are men, threatening and physically intimidating women in an enclosed space. ADULTS.

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 22/04/2018 00:23

People who need to see this:

Julie Burchill
Jess Philips
Robert Webb
Thingy Linehan
Hadley Freeman
James Kirkup from The Spectator
Paddick
Helen Lewis from The New Statesman
Julia Hartley-Brewer
David Davis
Andrew Gilligan from The Times
Any other vaguely GC MPs

Pratchet · 22/04/2018 00:28

Daily Mail mentions it briefly in a story today (tonight)

Spending2muchtimeonMN · 22/04/2018 00:33

Can I just ask why stuff like this is only posted on the Feminism board - surely this needs more traffic. Worrying doesn't cover it.

You're right. I'll post it on AIBU.

MrsTerryPratchett · 22/04/2018 00:35

I'm very disappointed that I couldn't be the first to post the rats' anus video.

Wrong side of history, my arse. When you are wearing a mask, grabbing at phoned, blocking the way of middle aged women who want to talk about women's rights... have a look at yourself in the mirror. Sorry. You can't. You're wearing a mask.

UpstartCrow · 22/04/2018 00:56

Sisters Uncut claim to be against cuts to domestic violence services, so you'd think they'd be more clued up on abuser behaviour.
It looks like they fund raise for their 'activism'; so they are potentially diverting donations away from DV shelters.
