The Lib Dem LGBT twitter feed is annoyed at Mumsnet

Apparently the Alt-Right and 4-Chan are using MN.
I think it's just one person who controls their tweets. I really hope that the top Lib Dems know what's being said.

I don't eat meat but I can stretch a quorn roast to 2 meals and then sarnies for a couple of days after that. I do go to a proper hairdressers so haven't tried the MN haircut. I have tried zoflora but it smells too much like the school toilets in 1970's. I know about penis beakers, cancelling cheques, the red lipstick in the washing machine that turned into a gross but compelling sporners' dream.

I'm scratching my womanly beards (both above and below the hip) trying to work out if MN has radicalised me or the fact that as an educated, professional woman with a mind of my own and a political and moral compass that maybe I might have possibly considered some of this stuff before I'd even heard of MN.

mmmmm...., brain and political engagement before MN or not .....?

FFS!

invisibleoldwoman · 03/04/2018 00:35

@PencilsInSpace

LGBT+ LibDems could not T-Rex in the supermarket if their pronouns depended on it.

🤣🤣🤣

SpringNowPlease2018 · 03/04/2018 00:38

Oh that's what was in the safe.....the syringe of radicalisation!!

Stealthy MNers lurk in the supermarket aisles and on public transport.....they stand a smidge too close, whip out the needle from under their MN scarf and BAM!

You will feel just a tiny prick - there's a lot of those around yes? - and as you turn you will see on the back of her head, the badly layered hair disappearing at speed. SHE IS THE MUMSNETTER WHO RADICALISED YOU, but her face will never be seen.

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 03/04/2018 00:40

“YOUR MINGE”

That thread radicalised us all.

BlackeyedSusan · 03/04/2018 00:41

WBHTTM, may be was you what's done the radicalising! Shock Wink

ZenNudist · 03/04/2018 01:01

I voted Lib Dem in the Clegg years. What a mistake that turned out to be. Not too surprised they are doing their best to alienate potential voters. Cant find their arses with both hands.

Very funny that ive been radicalized. Totes hilair that mumsnet is right-wing. This is the site where posters warn of DM link in advance and apologise.

thebewilderness · 03/04/2018 01:09

Butterscotch sorta? I hate that smell.

Mamaryllis · 03/04/2018 01:20

I blame Jeffrey. He was 4chan.
That twitter feed is the stuff of legend though. I can’t quite believe it hasn’t been shut down by the Lib Dems, but then I remember Lily Madigan has been spouting shit on social media for way longer and is still supported by Labour.
And then I go and pour another gin for the ongoing wake in honour of British politics.

Mamaryllis · 03/04/2018 01:21

My scarf appears to be out of stock though.

auntycartmanslargertesticle · 03/04/2018 01:45

I don't believe any fucker knows why anyfucker was banned, I wasn't on MN at he time but FUCK YOU I know deep inside myself that not any fucker knows why anyfucker was banned.

Fishfingersandwichnocheese · 03/04/2018 01:54

I too voted Lib Dem in the Clegg years as a student. I don’t usually admit to that as I’m embarrassed.

Obviously I managed to pull myself together and I haven’t done it since.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 03/04/2018 02:34

I wish someone would capture all of these character smearing tweets and publish and /or send to Vince Cable et al - they probably don't know what's being said - great way to lose votes and voters by slandering women on MN and I'm sure no sensible party official would want that

auntycartmanslargertesticle · 03/04/2018 02:49

Blush So embarrassed! Its just I have a crush on anyfucker because she/it/them/ze has the coolest name ever and someone mentioned her (ze,it,their) name sent me a bit gaga. There for a moment. Better now.

Ekphrasis · 03/04/2018 06:35

Bloody Nora, I don't know cutting your own hair was a mn thing.

I'm more radicalised than I thought.

But I draw the line at zoflora. I'm a ZERF.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 03/04/2018 07:20

That twitter feed is an embarrassment...

I hate zoflora, don’t have an MN haircut or scarf...I’m a mum and can think for myself - who knew? Hmm

LadyLancelot · 03/04/2018 07:21

What is 4chan? Are they literally killing people? Why are they dangerous?

Floisme · 03/04/2018 07:23

There's a joke in there that just needs a punchline:
'How many Lib Dems does it take to run a Twitter account? ......'

Answers anyone?

CanIBuffalo · 03/04/2018 07:37

I can pinpoint the moment when I peak transed and it was absolutely nothing to do with MN.
I was on equalities training and the person delivering told me I wasn't allowed to question what they were saying or even have an opinion on it. Or in fact say anything much at all.
And that was around the time of the 2010 Equalities Act.

Datun · 03/04/2018 08:04

Dear Lib Dems

Yes we know what self ID means. Yes, we know its limitation. Yes we know the Labour Party are acting as though it is law. Yes, it's highlighted the equality law and what that means.

And yes we understand that part of the equality law is a crappy piece of legislation and needs looking at.

Yes we know what exemptions mean. And yes we understand that they are currently hidden at the back of the filing cabinet, down the dark stairs, in the basement, with beware of the leopard written on the front.

And unless you think radicalisation means 'women can read' I'd suggest you start taking notice of the 12 million voters on this site.

Might I also suggest, that cross-dressing men with a fetish for womanhood, insisting that they are biological women and that lesbians should suck their dick, is a little bit more radical than women wanting to preserve their sex based protections.

MumOfThrMoos · 03/04/2018 08:07

Well said, Datun.

A: Both of them

Ellenripleysalienbaby · 03/04/2018 08:36

A ZERF 😂

LangCleg · 03/04/2018 08:37

I'm very busy chortling at this thread but I'll try to be serious for two seconds.

It's the whooshing of the sheer ignorance that really gets me - characterising the women here as alt-right or far right. There's a range of views, of course, but right-of-centre women here are in the minority. When they find each other on a thread, they're always delighted because it's quite a rarity. And many women here - including me - might well be long-in-the-tooth, but that means we've had a lifetime of radical action behind us. I picketed during the miner's strike. I organised against Section 28 and the poll tax. I buddied AIDS patients. I marched against Iraq. I've volunteered at women's charities and I'm currently volunteering at a food bank. These are not the hallmarks of a life spent in far right ideology.

What will these people do when they are - as they will be eventually - faced with an actual far right opposition? What will they do when there's an EDL-type group which has turned its attention from hatred of Muslims to "pervs in dresses", which is how they will see them? One of those paedophile vigilante groups has already caught one TIM doing online grooming - what happens if the far right catch on to that?

I remember the 80s. I remember when the skinhead groups spent as much time "gay bashing" as they did "paki bashing".

If these people aren't careful, they are going to catch the wrong attention and then they will wish they still had feminists as allies.

RedToothBrush · 03/04/2018 08:54

This is the LD members code of conduct:

‘The Liberal Democrats exist to build and safeguard a fair, free and open society, in which we seek to balance the fundamental values of liberty, equality and community, and in which no one shall be enslaved by poverty, ignorance or conformity. We champion the freedom, dignity and well-being of individuals, we acknowledge and respect their right to freedom of conscience and their right to develop their talents to the full,

May I point out the parts highlighted in bold.

The LGBT LD account is in breech of this. It is stoking division and polarisation and is part of the problem not the solution to balancing liberty, equality and community.

NoSquirrels · 03/04/2018 08:55

This thread is hilarious. Can we put it in Classics? Grin

I am enjoying Mumsnet Mandy, the idea of being a ZERF (put that on AIBU and watch the thread light up with radical opinions!) and all the haircut tips.

Fucking LibDems. Majority of my cited have been cast that way but no longer. No idea who I’ll vite fur now, it’s all shit.
