The Lib Dem LGBT twitter feed is annoyed at Mumsnet

Apparently the Alt-Right and 4-Chan are using MN.
I think it's just one person who controls their tweets. I really hope that the top Lib Dems know what's being said.

Sounds about right. Everyone knows mummies have mashed broccoli for brains and can't come to their own opinion on Important Things.

Melamin · 02/04/2018 21:17

I thought they said there were 4 of them, and it was official Grin

Looks more like work experience Wink

AssassinatedBeauty · 02/04/2018 21:18

They need to naff off and grow up. I cancelled my direct debit after I saw the nonsense they were posting. Nothing to do with being "radicalised" by "TERFs"! Just as a direct response to their ridiculous posts representing the Lib Dems. I'm not going to vote for the Lib Dems in any upcoming elections, despite that making me politically homeless. They're fools and it's incredibly depressing.

OddBoots · 02/04/2018 21:19

It probably makes them feel better to think that is the case, it would be preferable to the truth of women of all political views actually having the capacity for rational thought themselves.

Ekphrasis · 02/04/2018 21:23

Oh please.

Give us some credit.

They can't possibly imagine women have the ability to think fir them selves, can they?!

Ekphrasis · 02/04/2018 21:24

I only bloody heard of 4chan recently here, and it doesn't go down well on mn.

ijustwannadance · 02/04/2018 21:25

Radicalise and recruit terfs. Grin

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 02/04/2018 21:27

Blimey, where is the professionalism? This is the kind of stuff 12 year olds would do when I was at school.

LineysInTheSand · 02/04/2018 21:30

God that's utterly pathetic and incredibly patronising and sexist.

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 02/04/2018 21:31

Just imagine mothers having views and opinions of their own! I for one had my opinion box removed when I saw two line spring up on the pregnancy test.

WhoWants2Know · 02/04/2018 21:32

How can I tell if I've been radicalised? Is there a badge or secret handshake?

AsAProfessionalFekko · 02/04/2018 21:33

Radicalised on Mumsnet? 😳🤔🤣🙄

MumOfThrMoos · 02/04/2018 21:34

They're mad!

The sexism is extraordinary, isn't? Like the women of Mumsnet are a homogenous, naive group who are being duped into being gender critical by the alt-right! If that isn't a half baked attempt at gaslighting, I don't know what is!

It's probably best to ignore them - i don't think the people running the LD LGBT. Twitter feed are very bright, to be honest. They probably haven't had this much attention ever.

Goodness me!

Are they honestly going with the angle that Mumsnet is an alt-right shill?

Testingnamechange1 · 02/04/2018 21:35

A reminder of the petition they consider is so 'radical'. A request for a consultation on protecting the safety of women and girls.

OvaHere · 02/04/2018 21:36

Radicalised and recruited into biology!

Arf Grin Grin Grin

CircleSquareCircleSquare · 02/04/2018 21:36

Have you got Saltwater sandals? Do you try (and fail) to stretch a chicken over 27 meals? Have you tried the Mumsnet haircut? Do you have an opinion on parking? Were you baffled by that pink M&S dress?

YOU TOO COULD BE RADICALISED!

PencilsInSpace · 02/04/2018 21:37

LGBT+ Lib Dems account appears to be controlled by a bunch of nobs (4 nobs I believe).

They've gone a bit rogue over recent days and have been shockingly rude and dismissive towards women, including one woman who simply and politely requested details of how to make a complaint (here for anyone else has who's been affected).

Trawling MN for posts that are completely unrelated to lib dems or their rogue LGBT+ group looks a bit desperate and calls into question what they are for or why LibDems should continue to fund them.

Maybe it doesn't matter. Maybe the libdems are actually that irrelevant now. It's a shame because I believe in proper old school liberalism and democratic values and I have voted for them in the past.

The middle ground in politics is a yawning chasm right now. We desperately need an alternative. They don't even need to be that special, just relatively sane with a side order of human decency.

BlackeyedSusan · 02/04/2018 21:39

"Who's that trip trapping over my bridge?"

Oh, not that kind of troll then.

Dear Lib Dems. I do not want to share my space with male bodied people. People with XY chromosomes are men. Nothing radical about that, just basic biology. And another vote lost.

PerspicaciaTick · 02/04/2018 21:40

I did the MN hair cut last week - I am a lost cause.

Seriously, I've voted Lib-Dem for years (when they can be arsed to put up a candidate against our local selection of right-wing independents and tories). Not any more.

DullAndOld · 02/04/2018 21:43

Anyway the LibDems are a bunch of idiots.

when I was working for them, telephone fundraising, we were told that with any controversial topic that we might get asked about on the phone, such as abortion, cannabis , whatever, we had to say that there was no official party line and it was up to individual MPs to make up their own minds,

so they can fuck off with this, why is this different?

thebewilderness · 02/04/2018 21:43

Did they really think no one's mum would object to stripping women of their right to privacy and dignity, and to transitioning away the Gays and Lesbians? Srsly?

teaandtoast · 02/04/2018 21:45

Cis women. Angry

concretesieve · 02/04/2018 21:45

I wanna badge!! 'Snot fair!! I signed the petition and everything!! Grin

Seriously - I've just remembered I've got a nice replica WSPU badge - must hunt it out.

Katara · 02/04/2018 21:48

I have voted Lib Dem in the past. I will not vote for them again. I do not believe I have been radicalised on MN. I grew up believing sex was biology and gender was the word for sex-based social norms, and feminism challenged those norms.
But then, I am not a cis-woman, I am simply a woman.

HairyBallTheorem · 02/04/2018 21:48

Waves to the LibDem twitter feed plonkers who are no doubt stalking this thread too!

I want trans people to have human rights - the right to pursue employment, housing etc. free from harassment and discrimination, the right to live their lives free from the threat of violence, the right to be fully included in the political process.

But transwomen don't get to have women's rights, because the clue is in the name - women's rights. The stuff we need (maternity provision, contraception, abortion, single sex spaces to escape from male violence) in virtue of our biology. Transwomen don't get women's rights because they are biologically male.
