Ok sounds gossipy but PL is on the Wright Stuff right now and disagreed with Anne whatshername from the chase and Anne just said “you should know you used to be a boy” - huge Awkward silence.

Tbh, I don’t like Anne and her reply to Lees was harsh and unnecessary. I really don’t like PLs either to be clear. It was quite a 😱 moment.

It's true though isn't it? And Paris Lees entire professional life is based around the fact that they are trans, its pretty much all they write about.

Wobbleslikeaweeble · 15/03/2018 10:30

They’ve just went to the ads, oh to be in the studio right now.

There was just no need to say it - it had no place in the conversation and was extremely rude.

Good! It’s true. It’s nice when people talk about the elephant in the room. She doesn’t mince her words and I’m glad she felt able to say that. I just hope she can weather the inevitable pile on which will now ensue

TERFragetteCity · 15/03/2018 10:32

Someone needs to call the cops. And an ambulance as obviously literal violence was committed.

Wobbleslikeaweeble · 15/03/2018 10:33

I just wonder if there had been stuff said earlier off camera - i had thought Lees was sitting extremely stony faced and uncomfortable, almost nervous. Though they are live on TV of course which would make many nervous.

“you should know you used to be a boy”

Oh. Shock

That will go down well Grin

Were they talking about a trans issue or did Anne just pull that one out randomly.

Paris doesn't do very well in situations where they have to do anything except discuss how transwomen really are women while surrounded by sycophants who agree with them.

But, yeah, as I said, that is going to go down like a sack of shit on Twitter!

BertrandRussell · 15/03/2018 10:34

What were they taking about?

I find Paris Lees extremely offensive a lot of the time so find it hard to get worked up about an unmistakable truth. Isn't she currently being lauded for being trans and in Vogue? So again, her status as transgender is the platform that she is using?

No doubt we will see placards and claims of literal violence soon enough

Badgerthebodger · 15/03/2018 10:37

Actually I will pull back a bit as there is no need to be rude, it’s just that Paris Lees is such an odious little twit. Paris just as likely to have said something provocative as Anne is - perhaps she had had enough of Paris. Anyway I expect there will be something in Penis News or somewhere, Paris isn’t the type to let an opportunity to play the victim go by.

Iminthecclubnow · 15/03/2018 10:38

Ah right, they were talking about Old Boys Clubs and Paris was saying that they exist and Anne said 'well you should know, you used to be a boy'.

Obviously true, although a leeeeeetle unnecessary to say!

Wobbleslikeaweeble · 15/03/2018 10:38

Actually they were discussing inequality of women in top positions, gender pay gsp etc. Anne was saying she doesn’t believe women are discriminated against, that there’s an old boys club etc. Lees just said they disagreed and there was an old boys club and Anne just sort of spat out “you should know you used to be a biy” - as i said - long extremely awkward silence.

Anne was wrong in this instance imo.

I believe Anne Hegarty has Aspergers? I hope Paris Lees is mature enough to take that into account.

Milliepede · 15/03/2018 10:39

What was it in relation to? Paris is very very quiet.

BarrackerBarmer · 15/03/2018 10:41

This is good.

This culture of pressuring people to erase history when it is completely relevant to the topic at hand is worrying.

I think people should push back against the "you can't say that!" no deadnaming movement.

Bruce Jenner existed - and exists under a new name now. This matters.
Liam Madigan existed - and exists under a new name now. This matters.
I don't know Paris Lees' original name but he was a boy and this is public knowledge.

Rewriting history or pretending it never happened is sinister.
No-one gets to deny their past if it is relevant to the topic at hand.

Iminthecclubnow · 15/03/2018 10:41

Anyway I expect there will be something in Penis News or somewhere, Paris isn’t the type to let an opportunity to play the victim go by.

Given the way that Paris twists everything to look like a victim even if they are being approached from a perfectly reasonable and neutral standpoint, I think we can safely assume that they are going to milk this little incident absolutely dry!

Iminthecclubnow · 15/03/2018 10:42

I don't think I can even bear to watch this on catchup or YouTube - it sounds excruciating!

Wobbleslikeaweeble · 15/03/2018 10:44

Nah, I’m staying with it, theyre talking about men after the break.

You know Anne is has autism right?
She calls it how she sees it, and doesnt hold back, which I love about her! she is also very wise.

Paris Lees did/was/is used to be a boy.

I am watching on plus one, to see the context of the comment because I missed it, so will withold comment on whether it was appropriate at that point, but to be fair to Anne, she is only speaking the truth!

Iminthecclubnow · 15/03/2018 10:50

Actually, thinking about this (and also the fact Anne has autism) this exchange throws open how the trans agenda relies entirely on the belief of something that isn't true.

Anne didn't actually say anything that wasn't a statement of fact. She didn't say anything derogatory about trans people. She said 'you used to be a boy'. Which is true.

On the other hand, if someone (autism or not) said to someone 'you should know, you used to be fat' I guess that would also be quite hurtful, even if it were true.

I think that Paris was probably shocked, because they only normally do appearances where people just subscribe to the 'yes of course you have always been a girl schtick'. Which is why Paris was upset after the Nick Robinson interview, because he actually asked a few tricker questions. She wouldn't have been expecting Anne to come out with that on live telly.

ElenOfTheWays · 15/03/2018 10:56

Someone actualy said this, out loud on live TV? Hallelujah.

Ok maybe it was unnecessarily blunt, even rude, but no worse than a lot of other things that get said on TV, radio etc all the time. And it has the benefit of being factual at least.

As has been pointed out many times, no one has the right not to be offended.

We all need to be able to say this when it's true and it's relevant. It's important.

ReanimatedSGB · 15/03/2018 10:57

Going to be interesting Because trans people must never be insulted... and people on the spectrum must also never be insulted...

LadyMcLadyCrisps · 15/03/2018 10:57

Can you imagine a situation, where the ‘Wright Stuff’ Apologises for and publicly admonishes a person with a recognised SEN disability, for merely stating an actual fact about another person? Jesus, bad times indeed if this happens.

Iminthecclubnow · 15/03/2018 10:59

Going to be interesting Because trans people must never be insulted... and people on the spectrum must also never be insulted...

Yes there will be a few exploding heads that's for sure!

CoolCarrie · 15/03/2018 10:59

There will be handbags at dawn over this!
