IC thanks for that info. I feel like (and I may be wrong) that this issue has found its way into mainstream media in the UK, but not over here. When I mention it to anyone they have never even considered it. The only time I noticed the transgender issue was during the SSM debate in those hideous adverts for the no campaign.

EmyRoo · 03/02/2018 08:17

It is an excellent article; huge thanks to Janice for sticking her head above the parapet it such an articulate manner - we should not post the whole verbatim text though, now there is a share token link, for copyright reasons.

Myunicornfliessideways · 03/02/2018 08:27

That woman is the sole reason I'm now a committed Times reader. Brilliant Janice, clear and straightforward and no getting bogged down in language obscuring facts.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 03/02/2018 08:31

It’s a really good article, isn’t it?

GoodyHemlock · 03/02/2018 08:31

So good.

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 03/02/2018 08:34

Quick question: has anyone ever seen Datun and Janice in the same room? I’m starting to wonder if they are one and the same.

I actually have. Great to know we have tow such awesome women on our side!

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 03/02/2018 08:35

Quick question: has anyone ever seen Datun and Janice in the same room? I’m starting to wonder if they are one and the same.

Grin Its a great thought but - yes. I've been in a room with both of them.

TallulahWaitingInTheRain · 03/02/2018 08:38

Hurrah!!!

Lottapianos · 03/02/2018 08:38

Great article. Love the comparison with transubstantiation. Thank you Janice! This kind of sanity is balm to the soul at the moment

ShowOfHands · 03/02/2018 08:41

I am impressed. What a concise, erudite article. Well done that woman.

I'm another disenchanted lefty Guardian reader who is questioning her Labour party membership. Should I be reading the Times after all? Gosh.

Justabunchofcunts · 03/02/2018 08:44

This is marvellous. The parts of the press who are for whatever reason failing to cover the enormous impact self-Id would have on women while pretending to be all liberal and concerned about things like the President's Club should be ashamed of themselves for calling themselves journalists. Those of you who are reaching article limits please do consider a subscription if you can afford it. They had an online offer of £1 a month for 3 months when I did this.

I had only the theoretical understanding of the importance of a free press before I saw all this. I am now thinking I should be prioritising quality journalism over an occasional latte.

AngryAttackKittens · 03/02/2018 08:46

I also bought the 3 month trial, and wish there had been a way to tell them why I was doing so.

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 03/02/2018 08:47

Should I be reading the Times after all? Gosh.

Yes. It has not just Janice but Andrew Gilligan, Lucy Bannerman & Nicholas Hellen, all gender critical.

Ereshkigal · 03/02/2018 08:48

Posting her Labour membership number was a great I am Spartacus moment. Go Janice.

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 03/02/2018 08:49

I also bought the 3 month trial, and wish there had been a way to tell them why I was doing so.

I tweeted @thetimes to say why. I also tag them every time I share an article.

rb67 · 03/02/2018 08:51

Well done that woman.

Mumsnut · 03/02/2018 08:53

That was absolutely spot on.

Anlaf · 03/02/2018 08:55

wish there had been a way to tell them why I was doing so.

You can email them- I think they get a lot of correspondence when there is a trans piece.
[email protected]

Or a letter to the editor:
[email protected]

It's such a good piece.

Natsku · 03/02/2018 08:56

Bloody good article! Another one that is considering getting a subscription now.

MorrisZapp · 03/02/2018 09:02

Superb. I feel safer and stronger knowing that intelligent people can see the insanity.

ALittleBitOfButter · 03/02/2018 09:03

In Australia: Criticising trans ideology was the only way the no lobby could make their opposition to same sex marriage palatable for the general population. I believe they actually reduced the yes vote considerably by exposing the trans nuttery in schools. They never actually criticised gay marriage itself, just the gender stuff. So by hitching themselves to T, LGB faced greater prejudice.
Of course the LGB lobby has been hijacked by transactivists and LG spokespeople fell over themselves to mention trans victimhood at every point. Of course this wasn't enough: one TIM wrote an article in the Guardian complaining that trans wasn't being centred in the same sex marriage debate.
So transideology has seeped through the cracks. All mother and baby forums in the country shut down any raising of issues by the babywearing army who've been fully indoctrinated into pseudointersectionality, identity politics and "callout" punishments for tramsgressors.

ALittleBitOfButter · 03/02/2018 09:04

*transgressors

ALittleBitOfButter · 03/02/2018 09:04

Brilliant article Janice.

wrappedupinmyselflikeaspool · 03/02/2018 09:04

Long time Guardian reader here. I’ve had a subscription to the Times for about 6 months to read Janice Turner articles but found they have a lot of great articles in other subjects too. Some I don’t agree with but that’s also true of the Guardian.

Badgerthebodger · 03/02/2018 09:06

Really fantastic. I got a subscription entirely due to Janice’s articles and have cancelled my Guardian membership and direct debit as it has become unreadable
