Women 'Take Up Space' - Post something you're good at without putting yourself down.

I saw this on twitter recently: you tweet something you're damn good at, without apologising or getting into false modesty.

I was feeling a bit down today reading all the threads about how feminism is too this or too that, too academic or too humourless or not good enough at explaining itself - and I thought maybe it'd be good to have a more positive thread.

Rules: if you post a non-serious 'I'm so good at eating my bodyweight in stale Easter Eggs/procrastinating on MN' type thing, this counts as false modesty and you need to post something else too!

I'll start - I'm a really good teacher.

I am a very good gardener & great at propogating & can do grafting.

I am a good cook.

My DIL tells me I am a great MIL.

The last one is the one I am most proud of - especially since I joined MN. Grin

I write amazing websites and can make a business sound like it is the bees knees. Even when it isn't and they sell something like ink cartridges. ...
I am also a great at crochet and can teach anyone in just one hour.
I understand mortgages and finance really well.
I know lots of stuff and many big words.

I'm funny. I'm very good at my job, for which I pretty much taught myself everything I know as I've gone along. I'm a positive person. I am brave. I'm a fixer of problems. I am awesome at flat pack furniture, awesome!

Another astoundingly excellent teacher, the kind that inspires and leads.

Having been brought up to think I wasn't all that clever and laughed at for having aspirations, turns out that I'm shit hot at doing an MA.

Oh, and DD thinks I'm a great mum, as do her teachers (also my work colleagues) and she has quite a few neuro-psych diagnoses, but we still manage to have a happy, balanced life where she is flourishing and succeeding. I may just have to write that down for the next relative who puts on the concerned voice and asks when we're going to get DD cured!

I am really clever. Educated to postgraduate level in a very difficult subject.

In a really well rounded sort of way, I don't know anyone else that is as good at me in terms of general knowledge, problem solving AND technical stuff.

I got told off in my annual review for being 'too much' and 'full of myself' fucking pisses me off. If I was male I don't think it would be a problem. But I'm unseemly, it would appear.

I am a good driver, and a good navigator. And I can parallel park in spaces which are barely longer than my car - strangers have complimented me on it.

I am very decisive, and very good at seeing RL problems from many angles all at once.

This is not caveating, but parts of my parenting are great. I think the fact that I can see where the flaws are is a good thing!

I have had to support my parents through some very traumatic times recently, and I am proud of the way I have dealt with things - I have surprised myself.

I am extremely good at seeing the truth through the bullshit.
