WTH fell out of my vagina? (gross photo)

Seriously baffled.

Period due to start around Monday. Had some moderate cramps for about twenty minutes, took some ibuprofen. Problem solved.

About two hours later felt a weird sensation and this monstrosity slipped out. No pain.

Measures about 1.5" across and 3/4" wide and high. It looked mucousy to me but DH decide to cut into it (ew) and it's fleshy. It's not possible it is embryonic tissue.

Is it a decidual cast? It doesn't quite look like the ones on Google and there wasn't really any blood.

No idea but amazed your DH cut into it!

Hugasauras · 01/07/2023 19:32

No idea but I love that your DH dissected it! Bodies are gross.

Saucepot1985 · 01/07/2023 19:32

If you find out what it is please update! Unnerving for you but interesting…

Jojobees · 01/07/2023 19:33

Looks like a fibroid.

Bholli · 01/07/2023 19:33

Decidual cast.

Bholli · 01/07/2023 19:34

DCs are often described as being like chicken skin so if it’s fleshy then that’s likely what it is.

Wherethewildthymeblows · 01/07/2023 19:34

I've never had one but I've been on MM since the dawn of time and it certainly looks like a decidual cast.

Mammillaria · 01/07/2023 19:34

No idea, but kudos to your DH

Yamaya · 01/07/2023 19:36

Oh my god. I've never heard of decidual cast before. Why were we never properly taught about our own bodies!

RosaSkye · 01/07/2023 19:38

Very very invested in this as exactly this happened to me years ago and I’ve never known!!! I’ve googled it lots since and always get results for decidual cast but mine looked exactly like yours and not like the images of those on Google

justtype · 01/07/2023 19:38

Holy moly. I learnt something new today! Hope you are ok OP. (And, chapeau to your DH)

Kiwiandstrawberries · 01/07/2023 19:38

Am going to have to google disiduous cast !

Definitely had the look (and apparently the feel) of cutting into a raw chicken breast.

DH was fascinated so had to cut into it and even smell it. I just wanted to toss it. Luckily it had zero smell so I'm not too worried about infection.

About to start at IVF cycle so really hoping it wasn't a decidual cast because I'm not sure they can do a cycle if the lining doesn't come out an anticipated.

I knew at the title it was a DC. I know that from Mumsnet because there's been a ton of photos over the years.

I love your bloke a little bit for doing that Grin

Looks like a fibroid.

I can't find a photo for a fibroid so am curious. DH also came up with this as a possibility when talking to Dr. Google.

I have regular ultrasounds so would they have not picked up fibroids by now?

Definitely a decidual cast. Perfect little mould of the inside of your uterus 😅

It doesn't seem large enough to me? It's only 1.5" long.

I'm so confused!

I have no idea but your husband is absolutely wonderful

SparklingLime · 01/07/2023 19:47

Can't help, but I now know what I'm looking for in a man.

Hope all is well, OP.

MaybeBabyTwo · 01/07/2023 19:49

I'd definitely let the IVF clinic know just in case they want to scan you first or something... don't let them charge you for a full cycle if there's a risk your lining won't play ball this month

mummyoffourminimes · 01/07/2023 19:49

Shouldn't you show it to doctor?

ClaraBourne · 01/07/2023 19:50

I had to look this up - OP you are rare being - only 25 cases in medical literature!

Seryse · 01/07/2023 19:51

As someone who works in obstetrics I applaud your husband, what a champ! 🤣 Give him a pat on the back for me please! That's made my night

25 cases of what in medical literature? If it's a decidual cast I've seen quite a few on MN so I feel like it can't be that rare, surely?

I've never heard of a DC before! Would it not be red though, and bigger?!
