Large painful lump next to anus

Sorry if this is TMI but I've been on a diet recently and the last week or so it's been more of a struggle to pass a bowel movement which has meant I've had to sit on the toilet for much longer than I normally would and strain more. Yesterday I had horrendous pain constantly in my anus which I just assumed was from the recent issues but it's got even worse today so I've done some prodding and I have a huge hard bulge on the left side of my anus moving up towards my vagina but it's all underneath the skin so I can't see anything other than swelling. It's painful constantly whether I'm standing, sitting or laying down. Will this be from the straining? I've done some Googling and can't work out whether it's Rectocele Expanded? Also how the hell do I treat this? Heat packs or ice packs? Any help is appreciated as I genuinely am in so so much pain.
Thanks!

It's more than likely to be piles. But of course you need to seek medical attention

SinkGirl · 28/06/2019 21:59

Thing is, if it is something like an abscess and you leave it overnight and it gets worse, treatment and recovery could be significantly worse than if you go now. Especially if you end up with sepsis.

If it’s piles and it’s causing you this much pain it needs assessing to see if you need treatment.

Either way I wouldn’t wait.

EKGEMS · 28/06/2019 22:13

You need to go to A&E ASAP you could get septic very quickly

foreverchanging19 · 29/06/2019 07:26

How are you this morning?

ourmamageddon · 29/06/2019 08:09

@sallyscallop a link there would have been wonderful

nitgel · 29/06/2019 08:14

Go to a and e not walk in centre. I had similar (not in the same area ) abscess and I had to have a drip and emergency surgery to drain then weeks of packing. If you leave it you will be really ill and the abscess will grow leading to a longer healing time . ( of course it might not be the same ) but get checked

sallyscallop · 29/06/2019 08:21

@ourmamageddon

Sorry, is that picture offensive? I have quite a high threshold for stuff like that - sorry if it's offensive.

You can report it if it crosses a 'line' I won't be offended 👍🏻

sallyscallop · 29/06/2019 08:22

@PenguinsCantFly

I hope your feeling better and it's either gone away, settled or you're being treated.

ourmamageddon · 29/06/2019 08:32

@sallyscallop oh it's fine, I meant it lightheartedly. I'm not offended, I just don't love an anal abscess with my toast and coffee!

PenguinsCantFly · 29/06/2019 08:35

Thanks @sallyscallop but I'm not the OP Smile

(Coincidentally though, I am recovering after surgery for a complication after my perianal abscess from 2014!)

I hope the OP is feeling ok this morning and can get to see a doctor Flowers

alohadaisy · 29/06/2019 08:40

Yes OP get seen.

sallyscallop · 29/06/2019 09:21

@PenguinsCantFly oops, my message was obviously meant to be though 💐 - hope you're healing well

Riddlediddle · 29/06/2019 09:33

Sorry for going awol ladies. I've never known anything like it i must have fallen to sleep and I've literally only just woken up now. It's unheard of for me I only usually sleep for about 6 hours max. I have memories of being in pain in the night when turning over but it's all really odd. Anyway I've woken up and lump is still there and so is the pain so I'm going to head off to walk in centre to get seen

PenguinsCantFly · 29/06/2019 09:40

Strugglingonagain · 29/06/2019 11:04

Hope you are seen quickly and its sorted x

Riddlediddle · 29/06/2019 14:38

Just an update for you ladies. I had an extremely funny turn just as I was about to head out to the walk in centre. I got pins and needles in my whole body and passed out. I was freaking out ive never felt anythinf like it before and I lost use of my hands for a good hour. Luckily my dp was there and rang an ambulance but they said they had nothing available so he's got me out to a and e. It was really scary. Feeling much better now but still. waiting to be seen after the initial assessment. Hopefully won't be long

This sounds really nasty. Hope you're ok op.

Riddlediddle · 29/06/2019 15:30

Thanks. Feeling really poorly. Just want to be seen now

usernameuser · 29/06/2019 15:35

Oh God, how scary.
Hope you're seen soon. Good luck 💐

Riddlediddle · 29/06/2019 15:52

Yep it's an access. Got to be pumped through with antibiotics but potentially surgery is of no improvement

PenguinsCantFly · 29/06/2019 16:09

Sorry to hear this @RiddleDiddle Sad

If you end up needing surgery there is a fab support group on Facebook (called Abscess/Fistula Support for Women) which I found so helpful when recovering from mine.

Are they keeping you in?

BrienneofTarthILoveYou · 29/06/2019 16:13

Glad you're getting sorted Op Thanks

AnthonyCrowley · 29/06/2019 17:03

Have you been admitted for IV antibiotics? Hope it improves.

rainbowruthie · 29/06/2019 17:09

Oh you poor love, sending kind thoughts
