Signed up last night as they're doing a special offer. Had a bit of a play around with the app and seems simple enough to use. Might treat myself to a fitbit for my birthday in a few weeks so I can link up to track sleep, exercise etc. I like that the app has exercise videos. Also like that I can meal plan simply and it creates a shopping list for me.

I am 41, I weigh 68kg, am 5ft2. Have a family history of diabetes, heart issues etc that I want to avoid. WFH has made me unfit, rarely do any steps, gyms closing over lockdown and I haven't found thr motivation to go back. Was in a great habit of getting to DD school early at pick up time and walking around the block with my headphones on, then got a promotion and my calendar is back to back to back video calls 😶 DD wants to exercise too, so plan is to do some fun YouTube workouts together in the evenings.

Not sure today was a good day to start as it's NYE. Had 1 and half weetabix this morning. Taking DD out for a late lunch. And have a noodle salad ready for this evening. Going to finish my meal plan and then do a big online shop tonight. Looking forward to week 1 :)

That’s annoying, but the scales will start shifting.

Bagzzz · 06/10/2022 18:58

Thanks both - I’ll have a look at the 0 point, I’ve not added any separately but the tracker - for example when I said I’d eaten a carrot. Hope if I stick with it next week will be better. I remember at meetings they also suggested other things - waist size/how your clothes feel (not to replace weigh in just add)

Hi all - im thinking with getting a 6 month online membership , is it much better than a free tracking app?

This is what I wonder too. I’m in the same position.

LadyWithLapdog · 10/10/2022 07:33

I haven’t used a tracking app. WW has its own that you can scan foods and it shows ‘points’. Also, you can create recipes which then show you points so you can add it to your daily total. There are some boards too, but the conversation isn’t sparkling. Like with everything, depends on your motivation. I started with the shorter plan as I know I lose my enthusiasm.

Rosehugger · 10/10/2022 10:52

Nutracheck is a very good tracking app, for about £30 a year, but I didn't find that calorie counting alone produced as good results as WW. Though it is very good at making sure you have a good nutritional balance in what you eat.

Half a stone gone now in 4 weeks on WW- Nice and steady. I sometimes put things into Nutracheck (as I already paid for 12 months) to check the nutrtional values of what I'm eating and it's pretty spot on with all the zero point foods on WW, it does encourage a good balance. I've been eating about 1400-1500 calories a day.

Coming back to say thanks for the support. I’ve overall lost 1.4kg (3lb) and keeping going to the gym.

Moominsweetie · 22/10/2022 18:38

@Bagzzz well done that’s so good !! It’s going so welll by the sounds of it !

im really enjoying it - my scales haven’t got a battery so haven’t weighed this week but my clothes are def looser !!!

BettySweaty · 08/11/2022 21:28

Anyone seen any info about a pending change of plan.... Just seen on the app.. On connect.... Anyone know what's going on????

LadyWithLapdog · 08/11/2022 21:56

Another change?!

BettySweaty · 09/11/2022 07:12

Yes!! Due November I believe....

RosettaStormer · 09/11/2022 09:08

It is November.

MavisChunch29 · 09/11/2022 12:26

Apparently so. I hope we can keep the old one for a while, I've only just got used to it and it's working for me.

BettySweaty · 09/11/2022 21:35

This is the thing with WW. they bloody change it so as soon as you get your head round it, all change again!!!!

greenstrawberries · 13/11/2022 20:29

Current plan has been working really well for me so I’m nervous at the thought of them changing it. Having lean meat, pasta and potatoes as zero has massively helped me manage family meals without messing around weighing.

BettySweaty · 14/11/2022 08:02

Fitting it in with the family is massive isn't it.

We'll see I guess when it gets announced.

MavisChunch29 · 14/11/2022 10:40

Yes, that's a huge thing for me and why I couldn't do Fast 800 maintenance long term. Serving other people carbs when I'm not allowed is never going to work long term!

Plus I'm not that fussed about carbs when I have them in moderation but not having pasta, bread or potatoes at all made me go absolutely crazy for it after 8 weeks of Fast 800 even though the weight loss was brilliant.

Same with alcohol, chocolate, anything - all good in moderation but if I can't have it at all I can't stop thinking about it. I think my blood sugar is absolutely fine normally but it goes too low if I have too few carbs and sends me all off-kilter.

Crosswithlifeatm · 15/11/2022 19:50

I lost 2.5 Stone on ww and last year after major surgery my weight crept up again.
The plan changed and it really didn't work for me,especially their carbs change ,you choose a carb and the rest of your points reduce ,but, you can only choose one .I rotate mine between pots, pasta, rice, couscous but you can only choose one so on days when you have something else you have even less points to use.
Anyway I've cancelled my membership when the 'mentor' suggested I had ww ready meals!
I cook mostly from scratch but even trying to follow the point, using none of the weekly points I lost no weight.
What are they changing this time?

Crosswithlifeatm · 15/11/2022 20:26

Just looked,it looks like the old Blue plan that worked well for me.
The price has shot up now though so I will rejoin for a short time and see.
£19pcm may keep people away even with the introductory packages.
I hope they've made the app more straightforward too,it ebecame crowded but finding things was awful.

MavisChunch29 · 16/11/2022 06:43

I joined for six months but the first four months are free, I only pay for the final two then decide what to do after.

BettySweaty · 16/11/2022 08:17

You can join for first 3 months for free. I've a link of anyone wants it.

mugginsalert · 23/11/2022 08:25

I would really appreciate a referral link, if anyone still has one to share.

Read the whole thread and just waiting to see if theres a black friday joining offer to sign up!

Please could I ask, how useful do you all find the virtual workshops? I like the sound of them because I have no real life support but wondering whether people tend to stick with them over the long term. Does it feel very anonymous online? Thanks

RosettaStormer · 23/11/2022 09:02

I would appreciate a referral link too.
