Signed up last night as they're doing a special offer. Had a bit of a play around with the app and seems simple enough to use. Might treat myself to a fitbit for my birthday in a few weeks so I can link up to track sleep, exercise etc. I like that the app has exercise videos. Also like that I can meal plan simply and it creates a shopping list for me.

I am 41, I weigh 68kg, am 5ft2. Have a family history of diabetes, heart issues etc that I want to avoid. WFH has made me unfit, rarely do any steps, gyms closing over lockdown and I haven't found thr motivation to go back. Was in a great habit of getting to DD school early at pick up time and walking around the block with my headphones on, then got a promotion and my calendar is back to back to back video calls 😶 DD wants to exercise too, so plan is to do some fun YouTube workouts together in the evenings.

Not sure today was a good day to start as it's NYE. Had 1 and half weetabix this morning. Taking DD out for a late lunch. And have a noodle salad ready for this evening. Going to finish my meal plan and then do a big online shop tonight. Looking forward to week 1 :)

@ilovegreen

Hi all. I stayed the same this week which I’m disappointed about. I had a healthy diet so that is good, but just really want to get the weight shifted, and feeling like this could drag on. How’s everyone else getting on?
ilovegreen are you being more active than normal? I think for me it’s the combination of doing more exercise along with the healthier eating that’s helping*. I’ve lost around 2lb a week since I started.

*Disclaimer: it could also be due to cutting out my usual very large crisp intake Grin

ilovegreen · 01/02/2022 20:30

Yes, good point @GettingMarriedAgain - I think I will ramp up the exercise a bit - I’m not doing much right now.

Nicpem1982 · 03/02/2022 21:28

Hi can I join please. I started ww on Monday because of my BMI I have 42 points a day.

Ive got my menu planned for the week I'm struggling to use my points each day is that normal?

I'm not hungry or over full, for example today I've eaten

Porridge with semi skimmed milk
Mango

Butternut squash and pepper soup

Chicken and spinach curry with brown rice

Snacks

Mango
Satsumas X2
Banana x2

Hoummus with sugar snap peas, cucumber, cherry tomatoes and pepper

Coffee milk and cherry Coke zero

Plus a couple of glasses of wine

I've still got points left

bonfireheart · 03/02/2022 21:54

@Nicpem1982 I have 22 points a day, don't use them all, at one point I had so many weeklies in the 100s!

Nicpem1982 · 03/02/2022 21:57

Oh wow ok I'll not worry then 😃

bonfireheart · 03/02/2022 22:09

I joined a few of their zoom presentations and the coaches are very clear that you don't have to use all your points. Going over is the issue, but staying under is fine as long as you are not "under eating" ie missing meal times etc.

I have 22 points a day - I do go over mine some days - it really depends! If I stick to fish, vegetables and potatoes I hardly use any points but as soon as I have bread or rice or whatever (& that’s not counting the odd glass of wine or bag of crisps) then they quickly mount up.

I had a Big Mac the other day as I was so tempted and that was nearly my whole day’s points. Shock

I figure as long as I do well most days then a day here and there when I don’t is ok.

Nicpem1982 · 04/02/2022 08:09

@GettingMarriedAgain I suppose it's all about balance 😊

Nicpem1982 · 04/02/2022 08:11

@bonfireheart I don't miss meal times...I get cranky 🤣

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 04/02/2022 11:43

Checking in as I signed up a few weeks ago. Was all going swimmingly until I got COVID and now it's all gone to shit again. I just can't seem to get motivated. I'm going to write this week off, do my usual weigh in on Sunday and then get back on it.

The3Ls · 06/02/2022 11:46

Slowly and surely here. 5lb lost in Jan. Bit dull but mostly fine and never hungry

ilovegreen · 07/02/2022 20:16

Went way over my points this week, but did loose weight - I think mine lags behind by a week.

Nicpem1982 · 08/02/2022 09:17

I've lost this week ☺️ I'm really pleased.

Hopefully can get on with a good week.

I've tried a few ww recipes on the app so far so good.

Turkey taco salad bowl for lunch 😋

LadyNell · 09/02/2022 04:32

First weigh in this week, 7lb down very pleased but have been sticking to my 18 points, not using all of them some days and haven't used any weekly points at all. Physical jobs also helps I think

Dumfee · 23/02/2022 18:40

Hi there, can I join please? I signed up a few weeks ago - enthusiastic start followed by a few treats sneaking in and now half term holiday week 🙈
I'm determined to have a really good fresh start from next week (I know I should say fresh start from tomorrow but I know that won't happen whilst I'm on holiday) I'm getting ahead by planning lovely meals for next week. I see lots of chicken, veg and lentils coming up!

I’ve just been given a free trial (cos I’ve gotten fat) and I’ve done it before - I don’t remember it being this hard to hit the points. I’m only getting 19 a day and it’s nothing!

Larryyourwaiter · 02/03/2022 16:52

Ignore that. My weight was one from years ago, since I’ve put my current one in the points have jumped up.

GettingMarriedAgain · 03/03/2022 11:48

How’s everyone getting on?

I found it easier for the first few weeks when it was a novelty but am really beginning to crave all the foods that made me put on weight in the first place. How do you cope with that? I’ve ordered a few sweet treats from the WW shop to see if that helps with missing chocolate.

I’ve lost a total of 11 pounds since I started which I’m really pleased with. Am wondering though, once you’ve lost weight how do you manage to maintain the weight loss? I really don’t want to stop and end up back in the same state a few months later. Do people carry on with WW when they get to their target weight?

ilovegreen · 03/03/2022 21:42

@GettingMarriedAgain - I can completely relate to everything you say there.

I have also been thinking about the long term, and how I am going to maintain after the weight loss period. I don’t want to be tracking forever, but I find it hard not to overindulge.

I plan to continue with all the healthy eating I’ve been doing on WW, and I have found lots of delicious healthy things to eat, so I’m happy with that, and then when I do have the other foods, just keeping it to small portions. I will stay on WW for a bit in order to track if I need to, but will try to phase the tracking out. I don’t think it will be easy to maintain. I have been doing a lot of Googling to collect ideas together on how to do it with the least amount of stress!

Regarding the cravings - I do have small amounts of chocolate now so not getting cravings for that, but finding alcohol more of an issue to moderate, and also crisps.

GettingMarriedAgain · 04/03/2022 08:22

@ilovegreen Sounds like you’ve got a sensible plan there. Maybe I need to do some googling then.

The delicious foods you’ve found - are these recipes on WW? I think I’ve run out of inspiration a bit and eat a lot of avocados and fish which are free for me but, nice as they are, are getting a bit boring - and are not cheap.

I also struggle with crisps and alcohol. I allow some points for wine and have tried some of the WW savoury snacks which aren’t exactly the same as crisps but at least have a satisfying crunch!

TriceratopsRocks · 04/03/2022 23:08

This is where i am at the moment. I hit my target weight early Jan, and now I'm yo-yo-ing around it. Putting a few pounds on through over indulgence, then having to cut back again. I am finding that my willpower has disappeared and keep wanding into the kitchen and grabbing something to eat. I wasn't like this while actually losing weight - I really found it easy. I think part of the problem is that I'm still working my way through all the christmas chocolate I was bought. I can't waste it :)

TriceratopsRocks · 04/03/2022 23:13

French fries, Snaps, popcorn (Propercorn), Harvest crunch/harvest snaps, Snack a jacks - all 2pp for me. I have at least 1 packet a day! If it has to be crisps, you can get Seabrooks minis, which are lovely, but small packets of proper crisps (was 3 points for me on old purple plan not sure on new plan).

ilovegreen · 07/03/2022 20:39

The delicious foods you’ve found - are these recipes on WW?

No, I haven't looked at those. Maybe I just like vegetables and fruit a lot so was a bit over-enthusiastic! Is it dinners you are looking for inspiration for or all meals?

ilovegreen · 07/03/2022 20:45

well done for reaching your goal @TriceratopsRocks

when you cut back are you able to do it without tracking? are you still member of WW?
