Signed up last night as they're doing a special offer. Had a bit of a play around with the app and seems simple enough to use. Might treat myself to a fitbit for my birthday in a few weeks so I can link up to track sleep, exercise etc. I like that the app has exercise videos. Also like that I can meal plan simply and it creates a shopping list for me.

I am 41, I weigh 68kg, am 5ft2. Have a family history of diabetes, heart issues etc that I want to avoid. WFH has made me unfit, rarely do any steps, gyms closing over lockdown and I haven't found thr motivation to go back. Was in a great habit of getting to DD school early at pick up time and walking around the block with my headphones on, then got a promotion and my calendar is back to back to back video calls 😶 DD wants to exercise too, so plan is to do some fun YouTube workouts together in the evenings.

Not sure today was a good day to start as it's NYE. Had 1 and half weetabix this morning. Taking DD out for a late lunch. And have a noodle salad ready for this evening. Going to finish my meal plan and then do a big online shop tonight. Looking forward to week 1 :)

QforCucumber I have a dog so have to do a lot of walking - hasn’t stopped me putting weight on in the last few months though! I am trying to avoid cheese as it’s my downfall (along with crisps, bread, white pasta and rice).

bonfireheart · 14/01/2022 18:16

I was doing so well, tracking everything, doing my 10k steps, joining exercise classes everything....then I got kicked out of my account n it's just messed my routine up, so am sat here eating a mcdonalds !!

What do you mean @bonfireheart? You lost all you data or you can’t log in?

bonfireheart · 14/01/2022 21:38

It's a boring story lol I wanted to swap from digital membership to the workshop membership so the 24/7 support person said they'd swap it for me but instead they cancelled all my membership...so I can't login. Have emailed them and sent them a DM on twitter. I don't want to set up another new account and start all my data from scratch.
Must so I enjoy my McPlant burger and not knowing how many points is a good thing! Did over 10k though so hope that counts for something :)

Another 2lb off for me this week... if I can keep this up it would be great!!! Definitely ate way more veggies in the past week, which meant I had enough weeklies for McDs at the weekend. Made this soup at the weekend and it's delicious. Left out the cream and divided into 9 X 250ml portions (not 4 as per recipe) at 3 points each.... hopefully I have worked that out correctly on the recipe creator in the app!

FolornLawn · 18/01/2022 08:21

Hello! Can I join please? Signed up to WW this morning. It's years (and a couple of stone) since I last did WW, and I'm a bit afeared of the feeling of deprivation, but something has to give before my furniture does.

Delighted that fruit, fish and oats are free.

I've signed up for the fancy membership with the workshops (is that the new name for meetings?) in the hope that will help me stay on track.

GettingMarriedAgain · 18/01/2022 10:58

Gooseysgirl that soup looks really nice. I might have a go at making that as I’m running out of inspiration already and getting a bit bored of having eggs for lunch!

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 18/01/2022 23:14

@Gooseysgirl there are some good soup recipes on the NHS Eat Well app as well (that one looks lovely, thank you!) - I wasn't expecting much from it but actually I've found it really useful.

@ilovegreen ah no, I did not maintain my weight loss Blush started at 14 stone this time last year - waaaay too high as I'm 5ft 5 - got down to 12 stone by August and then put a stone back on by Christmas. Pah! It was a combination of school holidays, a new job and generally less exercise time which did for me. So 2022 - new start for me, back to WW after many years away, feeling (more or less) optimistic that I can get back to it...

@FolornLawn I've gone for the Digital 360 membership in the hope that I'll use some of the virtual workshops, a friend who has that membership really enjoys it. When I first did WW many many years ago I loved the in person meetings but I don't think I'd have the time for it now. Plus they're a bit thin on the ground in my area still due to Covid!

FolornLawn · 19/01/2022 06:29

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl, I'm hoping because they're now on Zoom I can find a leader I like.

I'm not loving the app so far, MFP seems much easier to log food on, but I'm hoping the workshops will make paying the monthly fee worth it.

Gooseysgirl · 19/01/2022 11:05

I actually have no idea what category of membership I'm on 😆 I need to check!!

bonfireheart · 22/01/2022 17:52

Either my scales aren't working properly or I'm not losing weight despite following the plan. My sister says its because I have less to lose, but not sure how true that is. However, I am losing inches so will take that.

FolornLawn · 24/01/2022 08:05

Well, I weighed in today after week 1 and have managed to put on 0.2lb. That said, I was over my points every day, and my period is due, so it's not really surprising. Blush

I'm going to go to a online meeting today and hope that gets my head more in the game.

ilovegreen · 24/01/2022 08:18

If you are loosing inches that’s great - I guess you can ask the coach for advice or check through your data, but sounds like you are moving in right direction. Mine very slow - has been 3lbs in 3 weeks. I guess it is possible to be having too many/much zero point foods so I’m going to do MFP at same time this week to calibrate.

ilovegreen · 24/01/2022 09:00

Hi @FolornLawn - Well done for doing first week - getting used to the food logging with personal points is definitely a thing. Hope the meeting is useful today .

FolornLawn · 24/01/2022 09:52

Thanks ilovegreen. The points logging is pretty tiresome and also a big reminder of just how little enjoyable food you can eat if you want to be slim. Ugh!

GettingMarriedAgain · 24/01/2022 14:59

I found week 2 harder than week 1 - I think the novelty of tracking everything may be wearing off. I certainly used up more of my extra points!

bonfireheart · 24/01/2022 22:32

Honestly I really am craving some junk food! Had well over 100 weeklies at the end of last week, should have used them:)

FolornLawn · 25/01/2022 11:52

Can you explain what a weekly is please, bonfire? I'm finding the app a bit of a rabbit warren.

ilovegreen · 25/01/2022 13:16

I’ve just been doing a bit of calibration using MFP to log calories and WW to track points. I wanted to see how many calories my zero points were totalling at, which for yesterday was 300. I thought that was quite high. I also discovered in the process that I have been underestimating the amount of stretchy vegetables needed in order to add an extra point - you have to eat 160g carrots for example to earn a point. So I’ve been giving myself too many extra points. Small stuff but could explain the slower than desired weight loss.

GettingMarriedAgain · 25/01/2022 18:38

@FolornLawn

Can you explain what a weekly is please, bonfire? I'm finding the app a bit of a rabbit warren.
ForlornLawn if you look at My Day on the app which as the days of the week along the top, you’ll see 3 numbers underneath - the middle is the amount of points you have left from your day’s points allowance, the number on the right is the number of points you’ve used on that day, and the number on the left is the number of weekly points you have.

I think I start the week with about 21 points. You use these up when you go over your day’s allowed points and you can save them if you want a big meal/bottle of wine or whatever. But you can add to the weekly pot by doing exercise (which you log in Activity below your meals - if you’ve got a Fitbit or similar you can link it to the app).

I’m not sure if you can add weekly points in any other ways though. You can add daily points by drinking 7 glasses of water or by eating vegetables.

Gooseysgirl · 25/01/2022 23:42

I lost another 1.5lb this week. 5.5lb in total over three weeks, v happy with that.

FolornLawn · 26/01/2022 06:28

Thanks GettingMarriedAgain. I'm not doing very well with tracking food, but I'm drinking more water and making sure I hit my activity target, so that's a start.

Well done Goosey!

ilovegreen · 31/01/2022 13:42

Hi all. I stayed the same this week which I’m disappointed about. I had a healthy diet so that is good, but just really want to get the weight shifted, and feeling like this could drag on. How’s everyone else getting on?

LadyNell · 31/01/2022 22:45

Joined today, have fone WW in the past after pregnancies and lost quire a lot of weight. I haven't got too much to lose, 1/1.5 stone. Weights been creeping up.last few weeks I like to get a hold on it before it really gets out of hand. I'm on my feet all day at work so fairly active and walk my dogs daily. Finding the app a bit confusing, couldn't work out where the pointed foods were but found it on the tracking bit. I'm only on 18.points a day so not much to play with at all. Have quire a lot of good zero point foods in my allowance though so will stick to those mostly.

LadyNell · 31/01/2022 22:46

Typos I really should check before I post sorry
