Signed up last night as they're doing a special offer. Had a bit of a play around with the app and seems simple enough to use. Might treat myself to a fitbit for my birthday in a few weeks so I can link up to track sleep, exercise etc. I like that the app has exercise videos. Also like that I can meal plan simply and it creates a shopping list for me.

I am 41, I weigh 68kg, am 5ft2. Have a family history of diabetes, heart issues etc that I want to avoid. WFH has made me unfit, rarely do any steps, gyms closing over lockdown and I haven't found thr motivation to go back. Was in a great habit of getting to DD school early at pick up time and walking around the block with my headphones on, then got a promotion and my calendar is back to back to back video calls 😶 DD wants to exercise too, so plan is to do some fun YouTube workouts together in the evenings.

Not sure today was a good day to start as it's NYE. Had 1 and half weetabix this morning. Taking DD out for a late lunch. And have a noodle salad ready for this evening. Going to finish my meal plan and then do a big online shop tonight. Looking forward to week 1 :)

Can I join in? I signed up to weight watchers in summer lost a stone and a half and then lost motivation to track and have plateaued ever since. Have another 3 stone to lose (I had a baby in April). I struggle though as im breastfeeding and often raveneou so eat all the sugary snacks!

myyellowcar · 07/03/2022 22:08

I joined last week and it’s going ok so far but I’m not sure how much I’ll lose. Whilst it’s stopped me having so much chocolate I am earning points left right and centre and have a lot of free foods.

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 08/03/2022 07:21

Does anyone know if oat milk can be chosen instead of dairy as a free food? I tried using live chat last night and was cut off 3 times Angry

TriceratopsRocks · 08/03/2022 07:36

when you cut back are you able to do it without tracking? are you still member of WW?

I haven't been tracking since the New Year. My membership expired a couple of weeks ago, but the app only turned itself off this morning. Since I stopped tracking, I have definitely found it harder to lose/maintain because I have found myself eating without thought. When I have wandered into the kitchen, food has almost jumped into my mouth without me thinking about whether I really want it Grin whereas when I was tracking I would stop to think about whether I was actually hungry, and wanted to use my points on that particular thing. That meant I was factoring my treats into my whole diet. Now they are just there, and without the discipline of tracking it's too easy to just eat more and more of them without thinking about it.

It's definitely a lot easier when I track properly with the app. For instance, my goal weight was 9st 7lb, which I hit early January. But since then I've been up to 9st 10lb, back down to 9st 5lb, now back up to 9st 9lb again. It's the lack of accountability that is my downfall, I know.

@ilovegreen

The delicious foods you’ve found - are these recipes on WW?

No, I haven't looked at those. Maybe I just like vegetables and fruit a lot so was a bit over-enthusiastic! Is it dinners you are looking for inspiration for or all meals?

@ilovegreen I’m looking for inspiration in general really!

I tend to eat pretty much the same for breakfast most days and lunch is usually a variation of fish with new potatoes and veg or omelette and salad. So any ideas of other things I could have instead would be greatly received.

I’m a bit better at finding things to make for dinner - not least because we’ve been having HelloFresh 3 times a week so I can pick healthy meals from there.

ilovegreen · 09/03/2022 20:08

@Justdoingthisnow - must be hard to cut back while bf and being tired due to having an infant. Be gentle on yourself Smile

ilovegreen · 09/03/2022 20:55

@GettingMarriedAgain - I haven’t tried HelloFresh but have a friend who says it works well for her to get variety. Sounds like a good idea.

Because it’s winter I have been having soup at lunch - a hearty kind with lentils, grains or chicken in it. I get it from supermarket fresh section but you could make from scratch and freeze. With that I have Humous with carrots, peppers, celery etc, and a cracker or oatcake. It does add up to a few points but I think it is worth it. In the summer I will probably make some salads - mine will need to be pulse based, as that is zero points for me.

Weekends I cook something that takes a bit longer, for the pleasure of cooking, like a stew, tagine, lasagne. They aren’t always low points, but I know they are nutritious and are not getting in the way of weight loss (that’s the wine/crisps for me!)

Other random ideas for dinners:

  • baked potato (if zero) with cottage cheese, spinach, herbs
  • ratatouille (with grilled fish/meat)
  • stir-fry
  • roast chicken (with rice)

There are often less healthy options flying around in my house and I’m not always cooking so just make sure I make extra vegetables or salad to go with it.

FlyingGeeseAgain · 10/03/2022 08:27

Thinking of joining but worried about being kicked in for months if I don’t like it. There seem to be no options to try before you buy.
How does the latest scheme work?

ilovegreen · 10/03/2022 10:49

Hi @FlyingGeeseAgain.
I just checked the ‘membership-agreement’ and you do have the legal right to cancel within the ‘cooling off period’ which is 14 days. Not sure they make it very easy to do that but believe you can call them up and they will have to oblige. After that you stuck for contract duration you choose which looks like minimum length 3 month, with 2 payments of £16.95 = £33.90. But then it says you have to give 30 days notice to cancel - not sure if they hold you to this or not.

FlyingGeeseAgain · 10/03/2022 17:42

Thanks that’s really helpful.

Goinghome20 · 15/03/2022 22:18

Hello fellow ww people.
Just signed up for the 14 day trial. Did ww previously to lose baby weight and it worked a treat. Usually lchf in spring to lose the winter excess but I fancy a change. I am liking this new system already Nd its seems to be pretty low carb which suits me well.

When you eat veg you gain a point which I really like. On Lchf you really have to limit veg and I miss it!

I have no scales so will have to measure success by the fit of the clothes. I think I have around 2 st to lose and want to be much slimmer by June.

I'm battling with menopausal bloating and sore boobs so hoping this will help level hormones out too.

DesertStorms · 15/03/2022 22:53

I’ve just had a look at the 14 day trial. When I click on it it takes me to the usual 3 , 6 or 9 month plans!!

Goinghome20 · 16/03/2022 18:34

Did you download the app? That is how I got my 14 days

DesertStorms · 17/03/2022 18:08

No I didn’t. What did you do once you’d downloaded the app?

Newjobnewstart · 21/03/2022 09:31

I've just signed up today having a look through the app and finding it very confusing. Hopefully I will get the hang of it.

Annon12345 · 28/03/2022 16:11

I lost almost 7 stone with pro points when they first came on and since put it all back on after having lo 4 years ago. Thinking of joining again today is the current system like pro points?

Sohappy62 · 13/04/2022 16:11

I have just decided to go right back to weight watchers switch .
I lost 2 and 1/2 stone with that plan and kept it off for years.

BettySweaty · 09/06/2022 14:50

I've a link for 3 months free if anyone wants it. I've lost just short of 3 stone on it.

IVFdreams2021 · 04/07/2022 11:28

Hi,
Is anyone currently doing WW? How they finding the loss with the new plan?

Wilma55 · 05/07/2022 13:02

Bump

Mortigua · 29/07/2022 12:18

Please could I have the link @BettySweaty ?
I was about to try the app but can’t work out if it will be impossible to unsubscribe if I don’t like it and I can’t see much about it, wondering if anyone is using it!

BettySweaty · 29/07/2022 12:50

Hey, I'm loving the WW programme and think you would too. Get started with 3 FREE months of membership!

BettySweaty · 29/07/2022 12:51

I've lost 3 stone now. I just joined for the free 3 months to see how I got on. Still at it. Feel loads better. Feel free to share the link. X

KatharineofAragon · 29/07/2022 14:16

I would join but also worry that if I don’t like it after the initial free period I couldn’t cancel.
please tell me why it works for you.

BettySweaty · 29/07/2022 15:29

You can cancel anytime.

You set your own plan, if you don't get on with it, change it. The trick is finding what works for you and how it fits in with your life so it doesn't become a big headache. There enough flexibility with this.
