Welcome Loki.

Hi loki well done, good start.

The shopping is the thing I think. It's really hard to do WW if you dont' keep tons of fruit and veg in the house. How do you all manage when you're not home?

Also does anyone have any ideas for what's good to eat at those new street market type places? everything is fried, or in sauce, or crammed with carbs... :(

Paperdolly · 29/04/2018 16:22

EDD... I guess you could ask the vendor to leave out certain things if it's being freshly cooked?

EddSimcox · 30/04/2018 08:04

I think I ate about 80 points yesterday! Oops. All my weeklies gone and some fit points but there’s time to make them back before Thursday I guess.... Blush

EddSimcox · 03/05/2018 07:49

Well I managed a small loss despite 2 family family birthdays this week Grin Time to dig in now to try and get below 80 kg by next week.

Balonder · 03/05/2018 23:07

Good on you Edd. I'm up half a pound this week. Have started an intensive weight training programme so I'm hoping that's it. Clothes definitely feeling looser

LoudBatPerson · 05/05/2018 07:21

Can I join.

I just staredWW a week ago, will have my first weight in this morning. I am doing online only right now.

I am hoping to try and lose about 3 stone by the end of the year as this will get me back into the healthy weight bracket (right at the top but at least in there). Ultimately I will be aiming for getting right in the middle of the healthy range but that's next years goal.

I will do my first weigh in this morning, really nervous actually!

PintOfMineralWater · 06/05/2018 22:37

Hullo, can I join? I've been on WW on a couple of times, with varying success!

This new system is killing me, I'm starving! I love the fact that eggs are "free" but ... hungry. I just did my first weigh in and I've lost 2kg which is motivating.

Does it get easier after the first week or so as you get used to smaller portions, lack of snacks etc? I know I can fill up on veg and fruit etc, but it just doesn't seem to fill me up.

I started at 90kg, and have another 18kg to lose. I've been overweight much of my adult life. I've always been very active, lots of walking etc, but recently I'm getting joint pain, which is scary.

errorofjudgement · 07/05/2018 08:15

I’ve been lurking in this thread but it’s my first time posting. I joined WW 2 weeks ago. I’m hoping to lose 3 stones (could do with losing a bit more but 3 seems like a mountain, so I’m focusing on that).
I was hungry the first week, but last week I felt fine - though I figured out the portions & points better so I had more carbs. I’ve done slimming world lots of times but found I wasn’t losing weight, WW is making me much more aware of portion sizes.

errorofjudgement · 07/05/2018 08:16

.. & I’ve lost 7lb in 2 weeks, so feeling pretty motivated at the moment Smile

BanyanTree · 07/05/2018 09:40

Not sure if I have already commented on this thread. Sorry if I have. I have had a few slack weeks and bit the bullet and stood on the scales this morning with dread. I am very happy as I have lost 0.6KG this week despite eating my body weight in salt and vinegar crisps.

I started this program the last Monday in Jan and have so far lost 8.3kg which is about 18 lbs. I have 4.1kg/ 9lbs to go. So near yet so far.

PintOfMineralWater · 07/05/2018 09:56

@errorofjudgement good to know you aren't as hungry now. I just ate a sheet of sushi nori as I'm so hungry but already went over my points wirh two ferrero rocher. Blush (it's late at night where I am in case anyone us tutting at my strange breakfast choices).

errorofjudgement · 07/05/2018 10:24

Oh yummy! Are you out of weeklies? And when does your next week start?
Not sure what food you have available, but how about an omelette with mushrooms, onions and tomatoes? No cheese, no points.

PintOfMineralWater · 08/05/2018 00:28

@errorofjudgement I'm not out of weeklies, my weigh in day was yesterday and I used 13 weeklies. Ugh.

I am eating shedloads of eggs, I will surely get sick of them soon! They don't really seem to fill me up, either. I think it's just a matter of riding out the first couple of weeks to get used to a new way of eating.

errorofjudgement · 08/05/2018 06:19

Sorry, missed that you’re already eating loads of eggs!
How about beans? Cannelloni beans with tomato sauce, butter beans in salad, butternut squash and lentil curry? All free and filling.

PintOfMineralWater · 08/05/2018 09:10

I think a lot of it's in my head. The thought of reaching for cannelloni beans when I'm feeling hungry (in between meals) doesn't really appeal! Things being "off limits" (and they really are with the new points system which punishes even the smallest amount of chocolate) is making them more desirable. :(

Oops! Budge up a little for Loud... Hi Loud. Got your cuppa?

OP posts:
Shoxfordian · 08/05/2018 14:41

Hello! Can I join too please?

I'm a little confused because I seem to have about 44 points a day. Is that right? Other people are saying 23 or 25?

Don't want to start on that basis and come unstuck!

Paperdolly · 08/05/2018 17:32

Hi Shox... and welcome. I'm guessing we can be different depending on our starting weight and our capacity to eat whilst still losing weight. 😊

OP posts:
errorofjudgement · 08/05/2018 18:01

@paperdolly, Thankyou. I’ve duly budged up! Tea please, unless Gin & Slimline is available - it is after 6pm and I’ve been stuck in an office all day 😂
Shox - I’ve got 42 weeklies, and 23 dailies. As paper says you get different amounts depending on your circumstances, perhaps it’s worth a quick call/text to your group leader just to confirm your points?

Shoxfordian · 08/05/2018 18:16

Thank you! I've checked on the online chat and it's right

PintOfMineralWater · 08/05/2018 23:08

I know most people don't use their activity points, but I'm just wondering if there is anyone who is doing so and still seeing success? I'm earning around 20 activity points a day (according to Fitbit). I'm not planning on scoffing the whole 140! But would be good to fall back on, say, 30 of them...

Anyone?

NinaMarieP · 09/05/2018 04:16

I eat some fit points but not my weeklies. I don't know if I could lose weight if I ate all of either let alone all of one and some of another. But then I'm on a generous 43 points because of breastfeeding. If I was on 23 I'd have to do just that and hope for the best!

EddSimcox · 09/05/2018 09:17

I eat my weeklies (not always all of them) and some fit points too. Still seems to be working. I tend to have higher points days at the weekends, going out etc, and then very low mid week —just before weigh in— I love the flexibility of this system for that.
