Hi all.

Any one else new or newish to the new Flex program in the new year and wanting it to form a new you?

Let's support each other eh? Tell me how you're doing.

That's great Balonder well done. And it sounds like a sensible approach. So far I've either been eating too much, or hardly anything which I'm sure isn't good! My first aim is just to get the bloody blue dot each day.

My weigh in was yesterday and I was a bit disappointed with 0.4kg loss, so I weighed myself today and it was another 0.5kg lower. I hope it doesn't go up again!! I've still got 20kg to go...

Another question for you all, how long have you been doing this? I've just realised I'll probably need to be on this diet for a year! Not sure my family will put up with WW recipes for that long... And if I ever do get down to my target weight I'll go straight back up again if I ever eat a pie or a chicken tikka masala so it's low fat low carb forever. Boo.

Paperdolly · 20/04/2018 13:29

Edd... your post tickled me; you can eat how you want but to be fair what's the point in resenting it and then going back to the type of eating that put you the weight on in the first place? 😁

Balonder · 20/04/2018 16:13

Thanks Edd. I have about 20kg to lose too though I'd be happy with 16 or 17. Aiming to lose it in about 6 months. I quite like this WOE as nothing is off limits (just too 'expensive' pointswise). I didn't like WW before as they promoted a lot of their own highly processed rubbish as being healthy eating so I think flex is a great improvement. I am definitely making better food choices but can't see myself tracking long-term

EddSimcox · 20/04/2018 23:57

TBH, I'd probably be happy with 16 or 17 too. If that's possible in 6 months i'll be over the moon!

bluelampshades · 21/04/2018 11:06

well done balonder and edd on your losses this week. I'm just back from my weigh in and lost 1.5 pounds so 5 pounds off in 2 weeks. I'm ok with that, would love to carry on losing 1.5 per week , the leader said for me to aim for 1 pound per week, any extra is great. I need to lose at least 15 pounds , that takes me back to a weight I know i can maintain, another 7 on top of that would be fab. I've signed up for the 3 month plan so very much hope to lose that 15 pounds within that time.

i've not done any extra exercise yet and i'm unlikely to in the next month due to work load. But we shall see. This week has been harder, i've had no events so no special food and my treats have been built into my points and weren't anything special. However i'm out drinking today and will need to find healthy food in the evening . Tomorrow i'm at a baking class so I will get to have a proper treat! Aiming for the rest of the week to be 100% on track and use my weeklies for this weekend's indulgences.

Can I just give a shout out for the C25K app. It's a jog/walk app that gets you moving gradually and tones you up. It's having amazing results for people of all ages and health issues. I've just 'graduated' on it after starting it in February and from not being able to keep a slow jog up for 60 seconds I can now slow jog for 30 mins! It is NOT competitive and there is loads of support whilst you do your jogs. Have a look. I'm not on commission just want others to feel as good as I do today. 👍🏻

bluelampshades · 21/04/2018 13:14

thanks paperdolly . That app isn't available for my old phone but i'm glad it worked so well for you.

I walk a lot and feel confident i could run 25 minutes non stop at a slowish pace, as I've consistently done it in the past after long periods of not running. Not sure running is something i can take up again, even though i used to like it. I just need to do strength work and try to walk on the days I don't ( to start anyway) . I aimed for 10,000 a day last week but only managed that on my commuting days - which i do anyway. I will need to tone up and do more exercise long term though or maintaining will be very hard. Right now i'm on the final push at Uni so finding time to exercise is low down list .

bluelampshades · 21/04/2018 14:24

but now i've so confidently stated i can run 25 minutes non stop i should make myself do it, as I'm starting to have doubts! OK that's my challenge before next Saturday!

Paperdolly · 21/04/2018 17:07

Ooooo 😮. Blue lamp! Go for it and give us an update. 'Slow and steady' that's the mantra! I wasn't even walking 5k when I started! 😂

That's great paperdolly well done.

My own experience was less good :( I got to week 6 last September and got plantar fasciitis which is bloody painful - and I have still have it 8 months later. I am never even running for a bus again. Some people are just not made for it!

ALemonyPea · 25/04/2018 16:36

Can I join please? I have about 21lb to lose, get weighed tomorrow after my first week. Finding it easy so far, and quite enjoyable.

Did SW and lost 7 stone on it, but have fallen out of love with fruit and veg (makes me feel nauseous even looking at cooked veg) and inevitably put a bit on since November, so need to get it shifted.

Have a fabulous dress I want to look good in in June. It will happen!

Paperdolly · 25/04/2018 17:39

Go for it ALemonyP. We'll be here supporting you. 👍🏻

Been a while since I did WW, can you not work out points anymore? Doesn’t seem to be a calculator anywhere.

Loving the app though, the scanning thing is so handy.

Paperdolly · 25/04/2018 20:11

When you get used to it you can add ingredients and amounts into the app and it will work out the points for you.

Can I ask how many pieces of fruit per day people limit themselves to?
I started on Monday, and have had 4 a day. Wondering if this is wise......better than biscuits and crisps tho’.

Balonder · 26/04/2018 10:58

Welcome Lemony. I also did WW years ago. I did propoints and lost 2 stone. Have to lose it again plus another half stone but I much prefer the flex programme.
STS this week but I didn't put anything on and it's still 8lbs down in 3 weeks. Might stop eating the fit points though I have started weight training so that might explain no loss

ALemonyPea · 26/04/2018 19:49

3.5 lb lost, it too bad!

I’m having 3-4 portions of fruit, about the same veg if I can manage veg.

ALemonyPea · 26/04/2018 19:50

Not too bad even

Wilma55 · 26/04/2018 19:55

There is a calculator alemonypea go to add (+) then quick add then the calculator tab

Wilma55 · 26/04/2018 19:55

Failing that www.calculator.net

EddSimcox · 26/04/2018 21:55

I don’t limit fruit. I have a huge fruit salad every day, and berries, and a banana, and sometimes other fruit. And lots of veg too. I find I can eat under 10 SP a day but I’m adding back more fat and carbs now to make sure it doesn’t become a fad thing. 3 weeks, 4kg lost. Grin

Charmlight · 26/04/2018 22:18

EddSimcox, do you mean you eat 10 fewer points per day than you could have?

EddSimcox · 26/04/2018 22:28

10 SP is my best day. 57 is my worst!! I eat masses of free food so I quite often get to the evening around 10-13 SP so I’ll have chocolate or wine!

Lilmisskittykat · 27/04/2018 10:49

I read recently on the app that you must eat a minimum of 10 SP a day to ensure you get the nutrition you need.

Not been brave enough to eat my fitpoints yet but I always work it out so that I eat every single point I'm allocated by Friday (weight day is Saturday)

LokiBear · 28/04/2018 08:42

Can I join? I lost 12 lb of post baby weight last year. Then I got complacent and 8lb snuck back on. I've been doing ww for a week now but was eating healthier for a few days before. I've lost 3lb. Currently 10st6lb and would like to be 9st 10lb when I go on holiday in 3 months.
