Hi, I am a newbie and have joined online. The says that chicken breast is 0 and fry light is 0. Does that mean that I can fry chicken in fry light for 0 or does it have to be grilled?

NinaMarieP · 10/03/2018 15:00

You could stir-fry it and it would still be 0. Or roast it in the oven.

SpaghettiDinner · 14/03/2018 06:40

Can I join you please? I've got 33lb to lose

I lost 38lb with WW in 2002 and kept it off for a couple of years but it's gone back on and more besides post children.

I'm doing flex and it's very different to how I remember weight watchers. I keep thinking how high some point values seem but I remember only being allowed 18 points in 2002 and I can have 23 now so I guess that explains that.

I lost 2.5lb last week which I was happy with but I tend to find dieting hard. I tried slimming world last year and ended up giving up after weeks of 0.5lb and STS weigh ins. Worried this will go the same way.

NinaMarieP · 14/03/2018 10:36

Welcome spaghetti!

I also think points are much higher but it's balanced by all the free foods. Chicken and eggs used to be points and I think bananas did too? (Just for example!)

Paperdolly · 14/03/2018 23:34

Hi spaghetti. I'm an ex frustrated SW er. I'm losing on this plan. The App is really helpful and keeps you on better track than writing everything and adding it up. You can do this! 😊

OP posts:
SpaghettiDinner · 15/03/2018 14:22

Yes Nina you are right. Everything was pointed from what I recall with a minimum of 0.5.

Just enjoyed a 'free' chicken salad for lunch with a 1 point dressing.

I really hope so paper. I think SW was an invitation to include carbs with every meal for me!

I'm going on a big holiday in June and I'm determined to stick to it until then and do what I can.

Love the app. Been happily zapping things in Sainsbury's this morning.

NinaMarieP · 15/03/2018 16:02

I miss half points!

QuackingHell · 15/03/2018 19:19

Just joined online today! Eeek! Feeling nicely full after my chicken and veg tea though

buntingandstarcharts · 15/03/2018 23:05

Hi all, please can I join? I've joined online and am in despair! Got married in August, lost 3 stone by not eating and exercising, and was still in the overweight BMI section despite being a nice size 12. 7 months later, the 3 stone is back on. I could cry!

SpaghettiDinner · 16/03/2018 07:02

Oh no bunting. That is frustrating. Soooo common though. Without a big occasion goal of a dose of regular self loathing I find it very easy to put weight on.

Lost 1lb. . 3.5lb overall which always feels crap when you read about people losing 7lb in their first fortnight. Blue dot everyday etc. It's just the way it goes for me.

If I could ever learn my lesson I'd remember the fact it's so bloody hard and slow to lose weight means I should probably be more careful not to put it on!

One positive is did have 33lb to lose but 3.5lb takes me to under 30lb with 29.5lb left to go.

Meredith501 · 16/03/2018 09:04

I joined online about a month ago but never really settled so I'm back to square one and starting today. I am the heaviest I have ever been Blush so really need to cop on.

So I am going to leave the past in the past and start today.

walkingwoods · 16/03/2018 12:13

Can anyone tell me if the WW app is good? I signed up to SW but don't like their app at all you can't log a food diary in there. It all seems quite paper based.

Also is the new Flex similar to SW are there any foods on the SW free list that aren't on WW.

Thank you.

NinaMarieP · 16/03/2018 12:23

The app's pretty good. I personally have a few niggles with it but you can track everything you eat, it remembers frequently tracked food and meals, it tracks your exercise points and daily/weekly ones so it's pretty much a one stop shop.

I don't know what's free on SW but all your fruit and veg (except avocados, potatoes and parsnips) are free, plus lean chicken, turkey, fish, shellfish, fat free plain yoghurt and some other things I can't remember. If you do no-count/filling and healthy/whatever it's called then all those are free plus other things like porridge oats.

Paperdolly · 16/03/2018 12:43

Yes. All are welcome to join the thread. Come on in and I'll put the kettle on.😊

Paperdolly · 16/03/2018 12:50

(Shouting from the kitchen). I've just seen that yellow thing in the sky out there in between the showers. If I remember rightly it's called the sun. 😲

Come on people let's do this so we'll feel confident when it comes out more. We can do this!!

C25K is a great exercise to put with the WW diet. If I can do it with diabetes and a replacement hip I'm sure most can. It's really rewarding!

Now...here's your tea (placing a tray down on the coffee table). and I've brought sweetners instead of sugar. I'll leave you to put milk in from the jug.

Now...what were you saying? 🙂

OP posts:
QuackingHell · 16/03/2018 14:58

I’d really like to try c25k when the weather improves. In the meantime I’ve had excellent results from the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. So back to that I think!

SpaghettiDinner · 16/03/2018 19:42

Thanks for the tea. It would be ungracious and very anti WW to complain it isn't Wine

Working from home today so disastrous exercise wise but well within my points as I was very busy so couldn't do the boredom eating.

Paperdolly · 16/03/2018 19:50

I'll have a look at that exercise quack. I've got a treadmill upstairs to use. I lost half a stone dragging it up there 🙄

OP posts:
Paperdolly · 16/03/2018 19:52

Hey spaghetti. We could water the wine down with diet lemonade or just keep sipping it and spitting it back. 😂🍷

OP posts:
SpaghettiDinner · 16/03/2018 21:07

Now, I quite like a white wine and lemonade on a hot day at a BBQ. Shame it feels like November all over again here and the red is calling.

fatgirlslimmer · 17/03/2018 09:39

I'm brand new to WW and I'm doing it online and losing weight, I love the app which, together with the fit bit sync, is what keeps me going. I am often hungry though, missing some carbs and not wanting to eat fish and chicken everyday. But I'm totally sticking with it. I know there is no count but I really want to get my portion control right before I try that.

However I wonder if anyone can answer this question? How many points was in skimmed milk, eggs, chicken, turkey, salmon etc before flex and are the other points the same as before?

I ask as I've just been away for the weekend with people who have followed WW who tell me that I am losing at least 7 points a day (including weekly's and a skimmed milk allowance). They reckon that over the week I will not eat 49 points in eggs. chicken and fish and I would be less hungry on smart points no flex.

I've looked online but can't find any info on the previous plan.

First week done and I’ve lost 2lbs Grin happy with that! And I even had enough points for a sneaky dominos on Tuesday from saving up my weeklies! Although I shouldn’t be too smug because breastfeeding gives me extra points.. haven’t a clue what I’ll do when I decide to stop Blush

NinaMarieP · 22/03/2018 22:39

Same @QuackingHell... I might have to breastfeed until he's 5 or starve 😱. Well done on your loss this week.

Meredith501 · 23/03/2018 07:19

8.5 lbs down after Week 1 - flipping delighted!

This is why I prefer WW over SW - I had two dinners out this week and estimated the points used but didn't have to beat myself up because it wasn't made from scratch and a third of my plate wasn't made up of vegetables.

Also learning a LOT about portion size Grin.
