WW 2014 support/b*tch thread

beachavendrea · 07/01/2014 05:47

Is there one of these already? I started WW online the day after Boxing Day which was the best or the worst idea I've ever had. I can't decide.
I have a lot of weight to loose and am finding it hard to get motivated, i have been sticking to my points, so thought I would start a support thread!

Wow Superduper that's amazing. I'm finding my 2nd week so much harder than my first week. Having 27 rather than 28 points per day seems so much less and I have used 20 extra points this week while I used no extra points last week. Rather worried about what it's all going to mean for weigh day on Friday!

SuperDuperJezebel · 08/05/2014 08:25

Thanks! The worst bit for me is that I look at the first pic of me and I think "wow, even after a 50lb loss I was still that big!". I was having a bit of a panic thinking about my trip to Cornwall in 6 weeks time, I was planning to have the week off because there's so much food I want to eat. But I'll be hopefully even closer to goal and I don't want to go off track even if it is for a week. So I've decided to suck it up, spread my weeklies over the 3 main days we'll be there - I can easily stick to 26 on the last day as we will be leaving in the morning. Usually id save my weeklies for weekends but id rather have a low pp weekend when i get back, OH will be away and ill be at a course on the sat. That way I can enjoy myself but hopefully stay on track?

fluffydressinggown · 08/05/2014 17:37

superduper you look amazing, congratulations on your weight loss :)

BreatheandFlyAway · 09/05/2014 01:30

Wow, amazing, superduper, well done!!

I've decided, since counting isn't resulting in any change for me this time round, (but am remaining same rather than going up, I suppose, on the bright side) I'm going to cut my points by 6, to allow for my known cheatage margin. I know it's probably not recommended but it gives me that leeway that I must need.

Also, has anyone else experienced stubborn lack of weigh loss during and shortly after prozac? I was on the lowest dose for about a year and stopped cold turkey recently (not much side effect). Anyone else had any experiences with medicine-related weight gain? Or maybe that's me making an excuse for myself Grin

Hi fairy, my story is similar to yours! Being on a different long running thread helped me to wake up to and deal with a different difficulty, so I joined this thread thinking it might do same for me with weightloss, here's hoping, eh!

I'm 1.5 lb down this week. Drop in the ocean really, but one step at a time!

pinkstinks · 09/05/2014 09:27

Hi all, had weigh in last night and dropped 2lbs. This makes 7.5lbs in two weeks. I got a sticker! I must confess I thought it would be more than 2, but I have been to the gym 3times and also swum 40 lengths so I think it might be a good idea to take measurements too.
Congrats everyone on your losses, and adrip in the ocean is better than nothing :)

annielostit · 09/05/2014 09:39

Good effort on the loss pinks, I'd be well chuffed with that.

fairywoods · 09/05/2014 09:56

Hi breath well done on your loss. Wouldn't be at all surprised if pills didn't help with weight loss, but you're going in the right direction now and 1.5lb is great (that's three blocks of butter!! Grin).

Having had a look on this thread and wondering what on earth MFP is, I googled and have now started logging my food & exercise on MFP. It really seems to be helping! I'm eating the same sorts of H&F foods that I would on WW but the fact that MFP tracks the nutrition as well is really motivating. I have cut down on fruit and am more aware of balancing carbs/protein/fat. This, I hope, will keep my cravings under control and it seems to be working! I think I need to do things different this time, as I kept cheating with points. I know WW say fruit is fine, but I think the hidden sugar makes me constantly hungry. I have only stuck with this for 4 days so far, but already seem to have lost 3lbs (won't believe it until I've done a full week, as I fluctuate wildly).

Let's keep at this, one day at a time Smile

fluffydressinggown · 09/05/2014 15:02

breath I take prozac and an anti-psychotic and I don't feel like they have had too much impact on my weight loss. The anti-psychotic can make it very hard to lose weight but fingers crossed it doesn't seem to have affected my weight loss so far.

I stayed the same this week which I am pretty happy with because I ate like a pig. I had steak and onion rings and a pudding at the pub, went to a BBQ, had waffles for breakfast one day and went out for a Thai meal so it is a miracle that I didn't gain!

Congratulations to everyone for their weight loss this week :)

Ami30 · 10/05/2014 08:44

Well done Pinks I lost 2lbs yesterday as well which I was pleased with as I'd used my extra points up. However I then did have a takeaway last night which was probably a bad idea!

tobysmum77 · 10/05/2014 08:44

official weigh in date 2morrow sneaky peak this morning and I've overshot target by 1 and a half pounds! so well timed pub meal out today for mil's birthday I have no intention of pointing before moving honestly into maintenance.... All my baby weight is history yay!!!!! (and not before time dd2 is 2.4 Hmm )

tobysmum77 · 10/05/2014 08:47

and congrats to everyone else rather self-obsessed post. Super I have tried to look at v your pictures because they sound awesome but it won't let me on my phone. Will look next time I'm on my laptop.

HalleLouja · 10/05/2014 09:43

Marks place. Went out for Indian last night and had mixed grill, a small bit of rice, aubergine bhaji and poppadoms. Probably should point it.

Am losing motivation since being able to get in a size 10 but trying to eat sensibly and exercise.

Comingfoccacia · 10/05/2014 16:04

Hello new here! Lost 6.2 lb in first 2 weeks,so far so good. Really enjoying it, keeping within my points but it's helped me to look at my portion size. I cycle to work, but it's only a 4 mile round trip ( uphill on way home!). First goal is to lose 2 stone

Comingfoccacia · 10/05/2014 16:06

Also really looking forward to be slimmer so I can shop in charity shops or my clothes! Never seems to be much choice at the hefty end.

HalleLouja · 10/05/2014 18:06

Well done foccacia that is great weight loss.

SuperDuperJezebel · 11/05/2014 20:32

Well done Foccacia, that's amazing! Genuinely no idea how weigh in is going to go tomorrow, feel like I've eaten loads today!

HalleLouja · 12/05/2014 14:56

Hope all went well super.

SuperDuperJezebel · 12/05/2014 21:08

Half a pound off... A bit depressing but not really unexpected.

Funnyfishface · 13/05/2014 22:04

Can I join you?
I tried ww online but I didn't stick to it so tonight joined a meeting. I have a stone to lose.
I'm not mad on the idea of simple start because I have a problem with portion control.
Any tips, help advice greatly received

HalleLouja · 13/05/2014 22:11

Welcome funny.

There is a thread somewhere on F&H recipes. I think the point of SS is that you need to eat until you are full. Not a bad lesson to learn when you go on PP. Its actually given me different things to eat such as popcorn. Soup is also your friend as it fills you up and you won't want to eat much more. Also love the petit pains.

Not sure if that helps.

Funnyfishface · 13/05/2014 22:11

Breathe - I am on sertraline. Very low dose. I put my weight on with citalopram 10mg.

Joined ww tonight so really hope the weekly weigh in will keep me on track

Funnyfishface · 13/05/2014 22:19

Thanks hallelouja I was trying to find a nice soup recipe.

HalleLouja · 13/05/2014 22:43

The one in SS leaflet for butternut squash and tomato is yummy. Had some today.

annielostit · 14/05/2014 12:51

Nice soup recipes on BBC food sites, I make leek & potato - 1 each leek, onion potato 2 stock cubes,1 cup 1% milk then enough water to cover, blend or leave chunky.

pinkstinks · 15/05/2014 19:31

Week three weigh in just completed!
I have lost a further 5.5lbs making 13 in three weeks! So pleased especially as I have just stuck to f&h rather than counting points. I feel great too and am really experimenting with tastes and meals, really enjoying turkey steaks at the moment!
I know it's a bit gushy but I feel like this is a brand new start...
