WW 2014 support/b*tch thread

beachavendrea · 07/01/2014 05:47

Is there one of these already? I started WW online the day after Boxing Day which was the best or the worst idea I've ever had. I can't decide.
I have a lot of weight to loose and am finding it hard to get motivated, i have been sticking to my points, so thought I would start a support thread!

OP posts:
pinkstinks · 23/04/2014 23:33

Can I join please?
I have never been to WW bit having wen referred by my Dr I am going to my first meeting tomorrow night.
I'm a bit apprehensive as I feel like I have a lot to do, but this thread is inspiring stuff and I'm really hoping to be able to slowly and steadily reach my goal.
Bloody terrified of being weighed though....

Weight is just a number pinksticks and surely knowing the number doesn't change anything? I've never had a major weight issue but personally I feel much happier when I feel my weight is under control.

Filling and healthy yeah.... so I'm finding if I convert it to points I get a free glass of wine per day Hmm .

fluffydressinggown · 25/04/2014 18:58

I lost 3 pounds this week, so I am celebrating with a take away Hmm I have lost 25 pounds in total now.

ProfessionalKiller · 25/04/2014 19:15

I can't stop easting chocolate today. Ho hum, fresh start tomorrow!

pinkstinks · 26/04/2014 16:51

Thanks all, it was fine and really interesting. I'm doing ok so far, filling up on the right things. Have been shopping and got turkey breasts and quark. I think it's mind over matter really ad training myself to not mindlessly eat. Everyone was really welcoming though. Looking forward to seeing if my work will pay of at next weeks weigh in!
Yeah your right knowing the number wasn't bad but it just are it all feel a bit real iyswim.

Congrats on the loss fluffy :)

tobysmum77 · 27/04/2014 07:49

so what does quark taste like? I haven't actually tried it, I've just pretty well given up cheese (and it was one of my issues)

0.9kg down this week, 1.4kg from target Smile . Can I get there in 2 weeks? ???

SuperDuperJezebel · 27/04/2014 12:49

Totally think you can do it Tobysmum! Quark is a bit like a cross between Greek yoghurt and cream cheese, I like to mix it with a bit of vanilla essence and some sweetner and berries and pretend it's cheesecake. If I'm really lucky I'll crumble a digestive or gingernut on it to make it a bit more authentic. Geez, so rock and roll!

DraggingDownDownDown · 28/04/2014 10:07

Can any-one tell me how many PP 2 tbsp of mild madras curry powder is?

SuperDuperJezebel · 28/04/2014 10:24

I couldn't find specific madras curry powder, but 2 tablespoons of generic curry powder is 1pp.

DraggingDownDownDown · 28/04/2014 10:33

Many thanks - I tried googling but couldn't find it.

Also does WW have their own bread rolls like burger buns or have they stopped making them?

SuperDuperJezebel · 28/04/2014 10:36

Not that I've seen, they do the part baked petit pain or the sliced white/brown bread. They have a list of all their products on their website so you could look there?

SuperDuperJezebel · 28/04/2014 14:04

I lost 3lb, yay! Only 12 til goal now.

emsyj · 28/04/2014 14:35

Can I join in? I did WW years ago and have now returned after 2 DC to try and get back to a weight I am happy with. I've followed the 'Simple Start' for this week but I don't think I have actually lost anything Sad. I weighed myself yesterday morning (actual weigh in is tomorrow evening) and I am the same as when I started!

tobysmum77 · 28/04/2014 18:07

instead of curry powder use individual spices they all come out as zero unless you put a couple of tablespoons in Grin

Ami30 · 28/04/2014 20:51

Can I join in as well? Just started online WW today, feeling very motivated at the mo hope it lasts!

HalleLouja · 29/04/2014 11:50

Hello newbies.

Well done Super.

Have reached my original goal weight but am now going for 9 stone 7lb (an extra 1/2 stone). Though am getting a bit addicted to this weight loss malarkey and might go down a bit more than that. Will see how I look when I get to my next target.

SuperDuperJezebel · 29/04/2014 12:16

Ha you sound just like me - my friend (also doing WW) is convinced I won't stop when I get to goal. I am not so sure, maintenance points sound sooo amazing these days! Well done on getting to goal!

tobysmum77 · 29/04/2014 17:24

I'm definitely stopping at goal. I knew the weight I wanted to be when I started. Also I suspect I wont stabilise immediately on maintenance and I don't want to end up looking too thin. My goal is bmi 22.5 though rather than 25.

HalleLouja · 30/04/2014 15:43

9 stone 11 now. Another 2lb lost. Nearly there - just 4lb to go. Though might review and try and lose an extra couple of lbs after my target.

SuperDuperJezebel · 30/04/2014 22:57

How tall are you? My goal is 10 stone 2, that's 1Lb under the top of my healthy bmi. I realise I could go much lower but I'm not sure I'm going yo for many reasons. 1) I'm currently 11st exactly and people are starting to tell me I look 'tiny'. I'm not, but I feel like I look quite small. 2) I'm sick of being on 26pp and want maintenance points! 3) I've never been this small. I was a size 16 (adult) at about 14yo, I am happy to be this size. I can fit into a size 12 comfortably and with another 12lb off I might even get into the occasional size 10. (Prob not but worth a try!). So what do you think, stick to my initial goal?

SuperDuperJezebel · 30/04/2014 22:58

Sorry should clarify the feeling like I look quite small, I mean in comparison to how I looked before and certainly I look like a 'normal' person these days, not someone who needs to lose 8 stone!

tobysmum77 · 01/05/2014 06:38

Its hard to know re: bmi/ dress size etc because all these things depend on your build/ age I think.

If I were you I would go onto maintenance for a bit at least at target. That way you can think about it for a while and get used to being slim.

I don't know how old you are but once you get to about 30 weight is only a balance between your arse and face (if I lose much more I will start looking older I know that from experience Wink )

You weigh less than me btw I'm about 11-2ish but I'm 5'10. That said I'm a fairly slight build for my height so bmi 25 ish is high for me.

pinkstinks · 01/05/2014 21:01

I had my first weigh in tonight and I have lost five and a half pounds in one week!!!! I can't even believe it.

fluffydressinggown · 01/05/2014 21:43

That is an amazing loss pinkstinks well done you.

SuperDuperJezebel you are amazing, it must feel wonderful to be near the end of your weight loss :)

I am having my usual Thursday freak out that I have not lost anything. Regretting my Friday take away now!
