WW 2014 support/b*tch thread

beachavendrea · 07/01/2014 05:47

Is there one of these already? I started WW online the day after Boxing Day which was the best or the worst idea I've ever had. I can't decide.
I have a lot of weight to loose and am finding it hard to get motivated, i have been sticking to my points, so thought I would start a support thread!

amazing weightloss pinksticks, well done Smile

HalleLouja · 02/05/2014 10:00

Well done Pinksticks.

Ami30 · 02/05/2014 10:51

First weigh day and have lost 6lbs, so happy. Great to hear how well those who have been doing it for longer are doing, really motivating to know that it's working for real people!

fluffydressinggown · 02/05/2014 11:43

I got weighed today and I have lost 3 pounds and so I have now lost two stones in total! Very pleased.

pinkstinks · 02/05/2014 18:03

Well done amo that's amazing!
And fluffy :)
I was given the pro points stuff last night, but it all looks a bit confusing and I have done ok with filling and healthy so might continue that this week with 49 treat points. Go y free calculator though!

2kidsintow · 02/05/2014 18:14

This may have been done upthread but....

I rejoined WW this week. And I can't believe how controlling they are being. Only allowing the simple start for the first week. Not sure I see the point of having 3 different plans, presumably to appeal to those who choose to do things differently, then only letting you do one for the first week.

According to the leader it's because people get 'too confused' if we give them all the info in one go. From a WW leader friend, it's more likely that it was because too many people for WW's liking were joining for the info on the first week, then not coming back.

I wanted to go back to counting my ppts. I am a counter. It works for me - I got to goal counting.

I love that it offers different options as it allows my non-counting friend to join and for us to support each other.

But I find it annoying that I'm having to do it their way for the first week before I can get all the info unless I just go back to my old books this week and say blow it and do it the counting way.

I may give it a go though, their way.

Ami30 · 02/05/2014 18:35

2kidsintow it sounds like you are doing the meetings, I'm doing online and I went straight to the counting as I knew that's what would suit me best. I'm using the app, downloaded both simple start and the counting but have ignored simple start. Don't know if that helps

2kidsintow · 02/05/2014 22:39

Thanks. I've registered for the esource and it is still pushing the simple start, but did give me the option to count points straight away.

SuperDuperJezebel · 03/05/2014 17:11

Filling and Healthy IS good, I did it for a week to mix things up and I lost 5.5lb that week. I also help with the weigh ins at meetings and there are a lot of people having a lot of success with it, BUT it's not for everyone. My leader doesn't push it for those who want to point instead, and I think that's the best way. She understands that people know what works for them.

I'm so excited to be getting so close to goal, but worried how long the last bit is going to take. I plot my losses on a weight tracking website called fridgegraph and I've noticed a new pattern. Over the last 12 weeks I've had a gain every 4th week, then lost it plus more the following week. I THINK it's the same week as ovulating, 2 weeks before my period, would that make any sense? Anyway will see if it continues and if so, it will make me feel a lot better if I do gain sometimes for no reason!

tobysmum77 · 03/05/2014 21:52

I always gain just before my period, it's normal I think. This time it coincided with a camping trip and me falling off the wagon also Grin

So I'm about a pound from target and I've just found out I've been doing it wrong all along. You are meant to point overall recipes rather than the ingredients, therefore meaning that I have been chronically underpointing. Plus I've never pointed tea and coffee because I couldn't cope with it Blush.

Methinks I'll keep with the same strategy. H&F I find I just use less points but then maybe that's because I've seemingly been mispointing heehee.

emsyj · 03/05/2014 22:03

I had my first weigh in on Wednesday this week and only lost 2.5lb in the first week, which I was disappointed (but not surprised) with. I told my leader I wanted to switch to points but she didn't give me any extra info, just told me that my allowance is 27 points a day - is there extra info/booklet etc for points that I haven't been given?? Confused

HalleLouja · 03/05/2014 22:15

2.5lb is good emsyj. My WW leader says you don't want to lose it too quickly as it won't stay off as well.

tobysmum77 · 04/05/2014 07:34

2.5lb is really good I've never lost that much in a week. The most I've lost is 2lb.

So it's weigh in day today I got up all ready and my scales have died Angry . I really hope it's just the batteries because if I have to get new ones knowing my luck they will decide I'm a pound heavier and it will put off maintenance for another week or two grrrrrr.......

tobysmum77 · 04/05/2014 07:36

have you got the ww app emsy? That's how I work out points.

BreatheandFlyAway · 04/05/2014 22:21

Hi can I join you? I did ww after kids were born and lost nearly two stone. It stayed off for a couple of years then crept back. Due to life crap (r/s woes, chronic illness and an operation), I lost grip completely. I've been counting on line for months now but not getting anywhere prob coz am dishonest with myself ahem! I also like my wine too much. So I am feeling pretty low and desperate, really dislike my weight but can't shift it. Thanks for listening!

tobysmum77 · 05/05/2014 07:53

welcome breathe. wine is also one of my 'issues'..... isn't that what weeklies are for? Grin

So my scales have decided to work again Hmm I weighed in this morning 70.05kg target is 70kg so counting down to maintenance 6 days to go Smile .

BreatheandFlyAway · 05/05/2014 12:06

Yay Toby that's fantastic re your goal so near Smile any tips?!

tobysmum77 · 05/05/2014 19:47

I've only actually lost 13lbs so I feel a bit of a fraud giving tips Grin .

Use your weeklies for wine is my only advice. ....

BreatheandFlyAway · 05/05/2014 20:48

That's still an impressive loss, Toby. Well done. I like tips that include wine, btw! Good thinking re wine! I've sort of ignored my weekly spare points and just shrugged and gone worse when I've gone overboard IYSWIM. So if I assign those 49 points or whatever it is to pure treat-land, maybe I will be properly honest about point counting Grin here's hoping...

emsyj · 05/05/2014 20:59

I can't find a way to get the app on a blackberry - it doesn't seem to work. I emailed WW customer services and got an auto response acknowledging my query but no actual reply!

SuperDuperJezebel · 05/05/2014 21:20

I dont think there is an app for blackberry unfortunately - what a pain for you!

I lost 1.5lbs this week, taking me under 11 stone for the first time since... well probably since I was 11, i'm guessing. I'm now 10stone12.5, goal is 10 stone 2, i'm so close I can taste it. Which is good really, cos thats probably all im going to be allowed to taste now!

SuperDuperJezebel · 05/05/2014 22:13

I made a collage tonight, I hope this works - my 3 certificates [outs self spectacularly!]

WW 2014 support/b*tch thread
fairywoods · 06/05/2014 09:33

Hi, can I join this thread? SuperDuper has inspired me with her photos, well done, what an amazing weight loss!! Keep focused, you've done so well and make sure you get help from your Leader with maintenance that's the most important bit.

I lost 2 stone with WW a couple of years ago and felt amazing - I actually felt comfortable and happy with my body for the first time in decades. I can't believe I have put 20lbs back on in the last 6 months, I am so disappointed with myself Sad.

I need to draw a line and start afresh today. I'm hoping if I track and follow this thread, I can do it again and more importantly when I get there, learn to maintain. I lost the weight before, I just need to believe I can do it again. Any tips on how to focus and get in the zone??

Thanks Smile

Nellysgirl · 06/05/2014 22:10

Hi everyone! I've not been on in a while after my 3 week holiday resulted in a gain I'm a bit Confused
Anyone who goes to the meetings have you filled in your 3 goals for the 8 weeks to summer? I'm not sure what to go for?
Also I don't know what my 5% and 10% goals are. All I can see on the list is my start weight. Anyone know how to work it out? I'm really slow with numbers Shock
Glad to see some losses on the thread. You go girls, woohoo!. X

tobysmum77 · 07/05/2014 18:16

nellies 5% is weight/100 x 5. I'm assuming you can sort it from there Wink .

scales are still playing up. Have ordered some new ones I bet I'll be a couple of pounds heavier and put off maintenance but I need to know my correct weight before I sign off!
