Morning all.
New thread for weigh in Friday.
Old one taking forever to load.

Was SO bad last night. Fancied a glass of Rose wine so bought a nice bottle thinking DH would have it with me. He didn't. I had it all. Whole bottle. Dinner was actually fine - steak, a sausage, salad and a piece of halloumi. But then I had a mini magnum. And then drunken hunger kicked in when DH and DS had gone to bed. Had a packet crisps. A cheese sandwich . And another sodding magnum .

However. The good news is that I weighed and still managed to lose. Only a pound but at least i lost.

Oh and DP even had one of those Italian deep fried rice cake things with mince meat in the middle, which are very nice, and I didn't have any.

Ps - why is my bold not working...

CheeeseOnToast · 09/07/2010 08:17

Ah there we are.

BudaisintheZONE · 09/07/2010 08:58

Hi Cheeese. Are you taking extra vitamins? Some years ago I was exercising a lot and got knackered. A friend recommended taking mega vit B and C and it really helped.

Cheeese - that is odd that you're feeling exhausted to that extent after working out. Sore muscles and puffed-out-ness, yes - lethargy, no. It should be whizzing your metabolism up and making you feel bouncy, more than anything?

Woo Friday!

Boo hiss - STILL 13 stone 13.6lbs this morning. I've been soo goood . Oh well - let's see what next week brings. I'm not bespoke anywhere this weekend so I can spend two whole days working out like a kerayzee woman and pottering in Crystal Palace park in the sun, which will be bliss and will hopefully kick-start a teeny bit of weight loss.

Did 3rd day of Shred last night - quads not too achey at all this morning, so I'll keep doing it every day.

tibni · 09/07/2010 10:28

I have my dd transition day today - so off to the high school in 10 mins to meet tutors, buy uniform etc. Tonight she is giving a street dance show so I will not make it to the gym today and as I do not have scales at home no weigh in. Will weigh on Sunday.

Cheeese, i'm sometimes shattered after the gym and often starving so well done for resisting treats.

Undertone - weightloss is a funny thing, I don't think I will have changed at all this week - despite the gym. But I do know I am putting on muscle because I can see and feel it and I am feeling happier in my clothes which is more important than a number on the scales.

Well done on the loss Buda - house camping sounds great.

Quality - bike ride sounds good. I didn't have a bike as a child so never really learnt to ride, tried at centre parks and I wasn't good

CheeeseOnToast · 09/07/2010 10:30

I was taking a multivit with extra iron but I ran out a few days ago. I've felt really REALLY tired all week. Can't quite see a reason for it apart from general lack of sleep - i go to bed at around 11:30 each night, usually DP comes in about 20 mins later so I dont actually attempt to sleep until at least 12. Then I get up at 7:30. DP doesn't need to get up until 8:30 so by the end of the week he's had five hours more sleep than I have and I'm usually exhausted. We don't have DCs yet though so i do get an uninterrupted sleep every night.

i don't like going to bed on my own, I'd rather wait for DP. And as he gets more sleep than I do and doesn't get up so early he can go to bed later. Although if I say 'lets have an early night' he will more often than not come to bed with me. But then he's really up for stuff when we get to bed and usually I'm too tired.

I have been walking more - aim for 6 miles a day at the moment, to and from work - but not proper structured 'gym' exercise, apart from last night. I'm going to legs bums and tums today.

I don't find exercise peps me up though really. Maybe I'm doing it wrong

Aitch · 09/07/2010 10:51

undertone, i was doing the same thing for a while there, putting on and taking off the same two pounds etc. then one day -poof- a couple of pounds disappeared and never came back, and now i'm putting on and taking off the lower amount. (iyswim?) i think this is just the way i lose weight now that the initial rush is over.

BudaisintheZONE · 09/07/2010 12:19

Cheeese - try supplementing your normal vits with B complex as well. Might help a bit.

Quality · 09/07/2010 15:23

15st 9
Did billy blanks last night (ow) and have been uber good over the last few days but it wasn't enough to make up for the weekend I think. Humph. WIll measure tomorrow, can't find tape measure and it's too late in the day to do it now.

tibni, when I say 'bike ride' I don't mean nice healthy cycle, I mean super lazy motorbike

Are we all plateuing? I blame the shitty weather after the heatwave.
Seabass for tea anyway.

Undertone · 09/07/2010 16:57

That's it! We're all swelling in the heat!!

What shall we say? Hot weather for more than a week adds... 3lbs?

Aitch - that 'poof!' moment would be amazing!

Quality · 09/07/2010 18:43

Am shit, fell asleep on soafa before tea and biffed a small pack of crisps before waking up properly. and then had some chocolate covered marzipan. and a choc digestive.

BudaisintheZONE · 10/07/2010 07:35

Quality! Bad Bad Bad!!!! LOL at half sleep induced excuse for crisps though. I love choc covered marzipan.

We had friends who are leaving over for a BBQ. I made a yummy Mexican Dip which we had with nachos. Naughty. I had a burger (very yummy - made by DH), some lime and coriander chicken and salads - rocket, tomato and parmesan; watermelon and feta; taboulli. Pavolva for dessert. Lots of wine. Headache this morning. Don't feel eating was too bad really. Obv the nachos and Pavlova were not zone but rest was ok.

Lots of left overs left so that's what we will be having today. Going to friends for BBQ tomorrow too.

Oh - friend noticed I had lost weight - said I was looking slim and trim and wanted to know what I had been doing. Felt good!

dinkystinky · 10/07/2010 13:47

Afternoon peeps - had work offsite on Thursday and Friday. Much wine consumed on Thursday night and hit the hay at 4am to get up at 7am for breakfast and lectures - hangover hit around 11am and had to spend the rest of the day eating to get out of it. Would holler at Quality for biffing but really cant speak at the moment. Cheeese - hot weather will tire you out and makes working out v tiring too so it could be that - make sure you're getting lots of rest, drinking lots of water and take your multivits and hopefully you'll feel abit perkier soon.

Still 3 lbs heavier sigh. Will be zoning this weekend - am at friend's place with old uni mates for a BBQ on sunday though so will need to do some exercise before then!

Quality · 10/07/2010 19:44

Yay for comments buda, it's so cool when people notice, isn't it?

Not too bad this morning, did measurements and bum and hips have gone dfown.
Have knocked dukan on the head, wtf was I thinking, the whoel reason I cpouldn't lose weight before was because of stupd proscriptive diets, I knew this, and yet I read another book adn got sucked in, twat.
I can't follow a diet that bans fruit and only allows veg eveyr other day either.

Bought a load of fruit and veg earlier and am feeling much happier, but absolutely shattered for some reason, probably because I have either eaten pure protein or crap for last 48 hours, fucks with metabolism!

feeling better now dinks?

NomDePlume · 10/07/2010 19:58

Hi all

9st 6lb this week. DH has made me a (2nd)vodka & (slimline) tonic. My first alcoholic drink in gawd, must be 9 weeks. It's LUVERLY.

Doing sooooooo well in the Zone these days. I am the Zone. It's good. I feel like I've finally tipped over from diet to lifestyle. I'm not craving crappy food anymore, my portions are normal and exercise is just another part of my day. I just really hope I can keep it up.

It helps that DH is doing it with me, he's doing really well too, he's lost about 1.5st (he thinks he has 3st to lose in total - I disagree! -1.5st more and he will disappear).

Hope you're all well, happy and healthy

Quality · 10/07/2010 20:45

Nom, that's great! DH is started to mutter about wanting to lose some too.

In fact I have a nice anecdote that still makes me now.
When we were at festival of speed I was wearing my new jeans (that fit, the only pair of trousers I now have that do) and an incredibly slutty black vest top with integral bra. I had a chiffon top over it but it was baking so I took it off. We were wandering around the stalls and I had lost DH and then saw him about 100m away, I walked over with my big specs on and he kept glancing at me and looking away, over and over again. I started to get a bit pissed off, wondering if he was in a mood and then when I got close he literally double taked and said 'Fuck me, it's you! I was checking you out and was really paranoid you'd catch me perving on another woman, didn't realise I was allowed to'

BudaisintheZONE · 10/07/2010 21:59

LOL Quality!!! That's funny.

And fab!

Been reasonably ok today. Naughtiness: 4 tiny bits of fried potato with breakfast, 1 Haribo cola bottle, 1 Rolo, some pavlova. Not too bad. No exercise though.

Nom - well done you. Accepting this is now how you eat is a huge thing. I am the same. Before I would not have bothered trying to diet this week having just been away and going again. But as this is not a diet I am finding it really easy to just eat the healthy way most of the time. Occasional treats but they are occasional most of the time. I feel in control. My indulgences are pretty much planned. Not mindless binges.

Quality - I was so temtped to read the dukan book! Glad I resisted. I have Ossum jillians book on mastering your metabolism which I think I will read though. Will report back if any good. Not sure when I will get to read it though!!

OP posts:
Undertone · 10/07/2010 22:55

Quality - that's ace!!

Well done Nom - an example to us all.

Buda - yes do report back on metabolism book. Should be really interesting - apparently yo yo dieting really plays havoc with metabolism and long term weight maintenance, doesn't it?

I have been SO GOOD today. 30 mins cross trainer, followed by Shred this morning. Couldn't go out in the sun (ginger), so I've been pottering about in my pants in the flat all day until it got cool enough to go to the park. Then I went for a 45 minute run at 9pm. now in a muck sweat with fan going full blast on me. hope i cool down soon.

Treat is two g and t's and an extra square of dark choc.

Undertone · 11/07/2010 14:33

Everyone's out in the sun, aren't they?

Did shred again this morning and then twenty mins on cross traier - would have done more but felt really, really hot and a bit dizzy so stopped.

I rather liked running that late in the evening so I may give that a go again later.

Waiting for shopping delivery - I am SO hungry but I've eaten everything in the house. One of my strategies is buying only exactly how much I will eat each week. i'll gnaw on this handy table leg.

Quality · 11/07/2010 19:59

I lost the thread it vanished off my threads I'm on, how scary!

Have you eatne yet? I have had alpen, 2 party rings, some chicken and apple salad and some gooseberries from my mums allotment with lf yoghurt.
Was going to do workout but have just found out that I HAVE GOT ON MY COURSE so am far too busy freaking out and writing lists to exercise. Not sure what to do for tea either, I want kedgeree as I have boiled eggs, smoked mackerel and curry paste but I don't want the rice...can't think straight!"

tibni · 11/07/2010 20:36

Congratulations Quality - just seen your other thread

undertone you are working so hard. Very impressed by your motivation.

nom - getting to a lifestyle change is brilliant; I hope I will one day get there.

buda I see your cola bottle and raise you 3 haribo strawberry hearts

CheeeseOnToast · 11/07/2010 20:42

Ooh well done Quality!!! Brilliant news. Well done you!

How about a nice salad, with the eggs and mackerel and chop lettuce/toms/cuc? But kedgeree sounds nicer

Heat seems to have finally stemmed my appetite. I have eaten 4 ice lollies today... all made at home though, blackcurrant squash ones in the little moulds, which is great as they feel like a real treat and are so cooling, when in reality they're just squash.

Other than the lollies, today I've had rice crispies, lunch was two celery sticks with half small pot of red pepper humous, and dinner was a few slices of cold roast chicken with peas and tomato ketchup. So not much actual food today although I'm not hungry in the slightest.

Considering an early morning spin class tomorrow, but think that might be going too far . I did do Legs Bums and Tums on Friday, which I'm still feeling today.

Wow undertone that's good going on the exercise front!! I'd love to go for late evening run, just a bit scared of doing so round here (east London estate!)

Oh went to a family BBQ yesterday, I ate courgette crudites, BBQ'd lamb, one sausage, and a load of salad, no bread or buns or anything. And just one small bottle of beer, water for the rest of the day.

So, all in all, a good weekend I think, food-wise! Hope everyone else is enjoying the lovely weather.

DukesOfTripHazard · 11/07/2010 21:23

Mucho virtuousness here! Hurrah for you all.

I seek the zone. Dukes has been spiralling into pre-menstrual bad ways this evening including PEANUTS AND SHREDDIES POST TEA. AND, MORE SHOCKINGLY, A BURGER TWO DAYS RUNNING, YESTERDAY AT SCHOOL FAIR TODAY AT MC DS.

I need to channel Nom and her 'way of life'. Life is really pants at the moment and the one thing chirping me up was my trimmer reflection so I need to get a grip.

Cyb how is you PortuGal? Bikini ready (or Bikini Atoll?)

dinkystinky · 11/07/2010 21:29

Evening all. Have had a busy weekend involving bbq at scarecrow wkend in northamptonshire today (but was v zoney and only one glass of wine, one hot dog and lots of salad ) so.....

Quality - hurrah and congrats for getting on your course. That's brilliant news - am v v v proud of you! All that nervous energy is bound to burn lots more calories... Love the story about your DH not recognising you.

Nom - you are the new poster girl for the thread! Must post more to inspire us all.

Dukes - sorry life is so crap at the moment. Really hope it gets better soon and you rediscover the zone and feeling happy about life v soon.

Undertone well done on all the exercise - fab stuff. Lovely to see you on Cheeese and Buda sounds like you've been pretty zoney on the whole.

Quality · 11/07/2010 22:49

Thanks guys, some naughtiness but veyr impressed with under and nom's zoning.

Dukes, sorry its a bit shit, I have been turning to food while waiting to hear, is there an end to your shit time in view?
Stock up on 'good' snacks, nice lollies are good, great idea cheeese, and then you can 'biff' without it being biffing iyswim.

Must find zone proper now. I have a clothes swap thing in 3 weeks so I really want another dress size down asap. Also it's my sisters wedding in 3 months and I have been told (this evening) not to show too much cleavage, and that she is on mayo diet (bleurgh) and struggling (yeah, wonder why!) so I must look AWESOME for that, purely to wind my siblings up
