Morning all.
New thread for weigh in Friday.
Old one taking forever to load.

Was SO bad last night. Fancied a glass of Rose wine so bought a nice bottle thinking DH would have it with me. He didn't. I had it all. Whole bottle. Dinner was actually fine - steak, a sausage, salad and a piece of halloumi. But then I had a mini magnum. And then drunken hunger kicked in when DH and DS had gone to bed. Had a packet crisps. A cheese sandwich . And another sodding magnum .

However. The good news is that I weighed and still managed to lose. Only a pound but at least i lost.

Morning all on this hot and sunny Monday! Going to get up to 35 degrees here today. Got up at 6.30 to walk dog before too hot but only managed 30 mins as have done something to my back and had NO energy. May have been all the champagne I drank yesterday but I am blaming it on the fact that I hadn't even had a cup of tea!

Went to a friend's house for the afternoon and had lots of champagne, then white wine and soda. The food was ok but I did have 2 desserts. Piggy piggy. Then we came home and had tacos for dinner, more white wine sodas and then 2 mini magnums and a packet of salt and vinegar crisps!

Weighed this morning and no gain so that's good. Will probably catch up with me later in the week.

Planning a week of being super good as we are off to UK on Saturday. Driving from here with one night planned in Germany on the way and the second night will be either northern France or UK. Then 2 and a half weeks in Uk.

Quality - have you come down off the ceiling yet??? You must be really floating with your news. And you will def look fantabulous for wedding.

Dukes - sorry about shittiness. Hope it gets better.

Undertone - wow to your exercise. You are doing lots. Putting me to shame.

Hi to everyone else! Well done on zoning in the face of bbqs etc. Shame on those of you who pigged. Oh. That would be me!

Afternoon all, started off very grim here but has turned out gorgeous, shame I have phone calls to make so we are stuck inside

Have been sooo tired lately, in fact DH was in a grump this morning as he came up half an hour after me and I refused to cuddle him, and then he had a coughing fit at 5am and I didn't comment/speak. I don't recall any of this, and am normally a light sleeper Plus yesterday afternoon I was int eh garden with the girls and I fell asleep on the swing chair thing! My mum has said that when she has wheat or potatoes she feels awfula nd really drained and sleepy, and I have been biffing on wheat and potato stuff, so am going hardcroe again and cutting everything to see if i feel better.

Chorizo and spinach salad for lunch, porridge for break, not a fricking clue what to have for tea.

tibni · 12/07/2010 15:02

Went to the gym this morning really not expecting to see any difference in my weight as I have struggled a bit this week - my food and exercise have been ok but I could feel my motivation slipping. Well I have lost a couple more pounds which I was pleased with and then I caught a look at myself in the mirrors and I can see the tone and definition really developing. I am now a few pounds under my target weight and im not going to set a new target as such as I think the tone is more important than the weightloss now.

Qualilty - I have my interview tomorrow; any tips from the expert!

Quality · 12/07/2010 16:23

well done tibni! that's great, especially as you weren't expecting it!
Agreee that if you are under your target weight then toning is the way to go, don't get silly.

What is your interview for? My tips were wear what makes you confident, do research but not too obsessively, and smile through the nerves

dinkystinky · 12/07/2010 16:27

That's briliant Tibni - good luck for your interview.

Undertone · 12/07/2010 17:26

Tibni - good luck. Have you tried jumping up and down in the loo as a nerve-beater? Go nuts and bounce the excess adrenalin out. Give yourself a bit of time to let your cheeks stop being red, if you're like me!

Bit stiff after exercise extravaganza at the weekend, but had a sneaky peek at the scales this morning and it's looking good for Friday already.

Also dug out an old bottle of that gradual tanning moisturiser for fair skin. Does it go off? I slapped a bit on but can't see it yet - wondering if I have to do it for a while befire seeing anything. Don't suddenly want to go orange! If my arms get toned over the next few weeks it would be nice to wear a sleeveless top - brown arms would help, I bet!

Hello all - mwah, mwah, by the way.

tibni · 12/07/2010 21:10

Thank you. I have been at a transition meeting for my dd move to secondary school all evening so limited time to over prepare.

I have a suit and monsoon top I like so I will wear that - not sure about the jumping! Even with all the exercise I do tend to go red - maybe jump before shower!

BudaisintheZONE · 13/07/2010 07:18

Well done tibni and lots of luck for interview!

As expected Sunday's indulgences are on the scales this morning. Also a bit bunged up so that is prob not helping.

It is SO hot here. 35 degrees yesterday.

Article with weight-loss tips in Daily Mail today - here. I have printed it off. Some useful ideas to do alongside the healthy eating.

Good luck today tibni!

Still exhausted here + can't work out why, had stir fry for tea so v good - snacked on fruit. No booze even!
Must exercise today, haven't done any in ages. Got school meeting for dd1 as well for her reception class, got to take dd2 to the meeting, so that should be fun!

tibni · 13/07/2010 08:49

Buda - I find the prospect of an interview works as a wonderful detox! I have spent all morning on the loo. The school the interview is at is close to the gym so I have my bag ready and will have a run after. Don't think I have ever been so prepared or nervous for an interview which doesn't bode well!

It is dull here and rain is expected.

Quality - hope the school meeting goes ok. Lots of bribes for dd2.

Undertone · 13/07/2010 10:00

Ooo! Fingers crossed, tibni. I hope you get off the loo soon...

tibni · 13/07/2010 14:10

Im thinking about the positive detox

Well interview went well but im sure that I will not get the position. There were 2 internal candidates and 2 that are currently doing the level above job in other schools.

Went to the gym on way back but didn't do much - no focus. Going to grab some lunch and try and chill.

tibni · 13/07/2010 15:35

Just heard I didn't get the job - went to candidate who is already officer level (level above post we applied for). Thanks for all your kind words.

Undertone · 13/07/2010 16:46

Oh tibni that's ruuuuubish. I bet you did really well in the interview. Could you line a couple more interviews up for other companies now you have your 'eye in'?

The company will rue the day - as soon as the job market picks up the person they've hired will bugger off back to their original position somewhere else. False economy. So you can confidently go 'nyer' to them.

dinkystinky · 13/07/2010 21:20

Sorry you didnt get the job Tibni- hope you're not feeling too down about it. Not fair for you to be up against overqualified people - bet Undertone is right though...

Quality · 13/07/2010 23:34

Oh tibni, am sorry, under has wise words though, the twats.

Had ok day, alpen, fruit for lunch and curry with stir fry. Had some vimto chewits but they are not high fat so still feeling fairly angelic as started period today as well, which might explain tiredness!

tibni · 14/07/2010 10:13

Thank you all, I work in a secondary school so something will come up eventually. Im only on a casual contract and would like to move to something more formal but that is difficult with a severely disabled ds.

Well fell out of zone yesterday and had a yummy chinese but picked myself back up today and im off to the gym. Have booked my smear (about 4 years overdue ) for today and an eye test for Friday so I am picking myself up - I tend to be bad at finding time for my needs.

Have walked the dog this morning and had oats for breakfast.

Hope you have a good day - off to burn some cals!

BudaisintheZONE · 14/07/2010 10:37

Hi all.

tibni - I am sorry you didn't get the job but you sound very positive today.

Quality - period may well explain the tiredness. But are you taking multivits? You need to with the exercise you are doing I think.

Was a bit bad yesterday as had potatoes with dinner. But we grew them ourselves and they were Irish potatoes so there was no way I was not having them! They were yum. Totally zoned otherwise though.

Walked dog for an hour this morning and it was 32 degrees. Phew. So frickin' hot. And she was struggling at the end. Then she found a viaduct/drain thing and wallowed. And wallowed. And got absolutely filthy! Had to hose her down when we got back!

Buda - I know you've told us all before, but I've forgotten and I can't find where you said it - where do you live?

Home-grown food, even potatoes, has NO calories in it. Fact. Do you think I could grow burgers in a window box?

BudaisintheZONE · 14/07/2010 14:30

Hi Undertone!

I live in Budapest. The Irish potatoes came about because I bought a grow your own pack while home at Easter. Finally potatoes that taste of something! Hungarian potatoes tend to be a bit tasteless and soapy.

If you manage to grow burgers, can I grow cake?

DH made some fab burgers at the weekend mind you. Added red onion, an egg, ground corianer, fresh coriander and some Dijon mustard. Very yummy.

Undertone · 14/07/2010 21:16

Mmmm. Burgers.

I don't know why I'm fantasising about them so much recently. I was never a big burger-eater before...

Frankly, i don't know what scientists are doing with themselves if they're not working on a cake bush. I mean - they manages to come up with the Large Hadron Collider, so where's my battenburg tree?

I'm definitely getting fitter - not having to stop so frequently on my 45 minute circuit. Woo! Getting a funny dull pain in my knee afterwards though. Bad sign?

We need to recruit some more Zoners. This thread is still a huge help to me, and I bet it would help other people too.

tibni · 15/07/2010 12:06

Hello all,

mmmmmm burgers - yum!

undertone - well done on the fitness. I know i'm getting fitter as my run times are improving and it doesn't hurt quite as much!

I have slightly twinged my back - not sure how. I have been to the gym but had to modify my programme as I don't want to risk injury.

ds special school prize giving this afternoon. I wasn't going to go as ds doesn't like me invading his school space so put a note in his home school diary. Got a call this morning telling me that I would want to be there - he has won a prize! .

Quality · 15/07/2010 16:08

Afternoon. Still rainign here, couldn't make MN meetup which is apisser.
cocktail sausies and cheese for lunch, we had our picnic on the carpet
no exercise for at elast a week, bad period pains, but I have found the last bit of paperwork I need for my forms so I will shred or soemthing tonight. maybe

(can yout ell my heart is not in it this week!)

tibni, congrats for your ds, what was the prize for?

and STOP TALKING ABOUT BURGERS AND PURDIES

BudaisintheZONE · 15/07/2010 16:25

Hi all! Melting here in Budapest. 40 degrees. No walk today.

Have downloaded Couchto5K to my iPhone to do in UK though. Figure if I do that it should balance the naughty food. Am planning on sticking to plan most of the time but there will be indulgences. Fish and chips for def.

Also we are driving to UK - leaving Saturday, spending Sat night in Germany, Sunday night either northern France or UK. So although I will bring some healthy snacks, I will be at mercy of whatever is available as we travel. And whatever makes DS happy. Which will involve McDonalds I am sure.

Am SO proud of myself though. DS wanted a biscuit so I opened a packet of bourbons and while putting them in the biscuit tin I discovered some custard creams. Love both. So decided to have one of each with a cuppa. Put them on a plate and made my cuppa. Took to sofa with magazine. Couldn't eat them! Put them back. Kept thinking of weigh in tomorrow and knew that if I hadn't lost I would be disgusted with myself for having them. The old me could easily have just eaten 6 of them without thinking.

Planning chicken fajitas for dinner as have all the ingredients and need to use them up. Will have salad with mine instead of a tortilla though.

Sorry you missed your picnic Quality.

And sorry for talking burgers but you can have healthy ones!

ds award was a surprise to us all. He won the Governors Cup for Achievements. His name is engraved onto the cup and he gets an engraved salver that he has bought home with him. There were 3 cups awarded and a number of smaller prizes. The headteacher said some lovely things about ds and how far he has come in the past year. ds has severe difficulties and is so impaired by his ASD, sensory disorder and other co-morbids - it is so special that he has been recognised for the gorgeous little boy he is. Can you tell I am a very proud mum?
