Morning all.
New thread for weigh in Friday.
Old one taking forever to load.

Was SO bad last night. Fancied a glass of Rose wine so bought a nice bottle thinking DH would have it with me. He didn't. I had it all. Whole bottle. Dinner was actually fine - steak, a sausage, salad and a piece of halloumi. But then I had a mini magnum. And then drunken hunger kicked in when DH and DS had gone to bed. Had a packet crisps. A cheese sandwich . And another sodding magnum .

However. The good news is that I weighed and still managed to lose. Only a pound but at least i lost.

Morning zoners!

Ilythia - I can TOTALLY understand about the burger, and I'm sure the policewoman did as well. She was probably enormously jealous.

I've changed tack re: breakfast. I used to get up, have a pint of water and a vit tablet, then travel in to work and only eat my weetabix at my desk at about 8.50am - but get STARVING by about 11.55am and have to scoff my lunch at 12.01pm. This would mean that I was hungry again by 2.30pm and the afternoon was a long torture (punctuated by the odd apple) until I travelled home again at 6pm to then work out and eat at about 7.30pm.

I got up a bit earlier and straight away had three small eggs scrambled with no added fat, on one of those little half-loaf slices of wholemeal with a scrape of Flora light. I'm waiting to see if I can hold out until 1pm for lunch! The protein will fill me up until then, I hope. Plus the extra calories will put my mind at ease about eating too little, which I was worried about.

How is everyone?

Ilythia - I wishe we could go for a run together. We would be a majestic sight!!

Ilythia · 03/08/2010 13:54

We'd stop traffic for sure

Good idea re breakfast, I have to eat it, didn't shred this morning as my neck is being really weird but I try and do it first thing before a big bowl of cereal, but protein does fill me up more.
I just don't like sctrambling eggs for breakfast as dd's then want some and make a big mess and I can't cope

Hello Biffers/Zoners (delete as applicable - you know who you are) and welcome Bondgirl.

Had fun camping - was cold, rainy and involved early starts and late nights - so the quintessential camping experience. Pleased to report am now 10 stone 4 though so at least didnt biff out. There was tiger bread there but didnt really do anything for me from the bite or two I tried. I must be missing some kind of taste gene...

Undertone - your parents combined sound like my mother who is a feeder AND a blunt critic rolled into one. She accused me of being an alcoholic a couple of months ago (on the basis that DH and I polished off a bottle of wine when staying with them over a couple of nights ) - I find the bite my tongue, nod and let it roll off my back approach works best rather than picking her up on it (which ends up with me being the bad guy and her sobbing and threatening never to say anything to me ever again... as if that would ever happen) or getting upset by it.

Tibni, Ilythia, Undertone - well done on your running prowess - I'm really impressed!

Bondgirl - if WW worked for you 2 years ago, and if you can afford it, I'd say go back to WWs. It'll give you the prompt to look at water intake, portion size, overall calorie consumption etc. that you need to refocus on. I can appreciate that getting exercise into your day is really difficult so you're going to have to focus on ensure that calories in is less than calories out to get the loss you want, and to re-educate your appetite so that treats are only 1 piece of delicious homemade cake once in a while rather than icecreams etc. You can do it - coming on this thread is a good first step in the right direction!

Undertone · 03/08/2010 17:08

Welcome back from your masochistic outdoor trial, dinky.

I'm not sure eggs worked. I know it's day one. Its been a particularly trying day at work. AND MY FUCKING COLLEAGUE HAS JUST BOUGHT A PACK OF CHOC CHIP DIGESTIVES AND LEFT THEM WITHIN ABOUT 1 METRE OF MY DESK.

I am STARVING! This is TORTURE! I literally cannot think about anything else.

Lalalala trying to distract myself.

Ilythia · 03/08/2010 18:12

Did that help? Managed to get appt at docs and i have a fever and achey muscles and stiffness and slight glands. She reckons it is a bad virus or early/mild flu and to fluid, paracetemol and bed. Hahahaha like that woudl ever happen.

dinkystinky · 03/08/2010 20:19

Ilythia - had something similar on Sunday. Basically just drank water/herbal tea and slept as much as I could and felt better within 24 hours. Try and get yourself to bed as quickly as you can tonight and sleep as much as you can.

Undertone - imagine that the choc chips in those biscuits are something really gross - like lard chips. Will that help?

Undertone · 03/08/2010 20:22

They are poo chips. Little chips of poo.

Lawks Ilythia - MY EYES!

dinkystinky · 04/08/2010 09:49

Did you manage to resist the poo chips Undertone?

Undertone · 04/08/2010 10:48

I did. I manned up, resisted the poo chips, and went on a big, determined run when I got in. ZONE.

There's still half a packet there though today. But they're made of poo, so I don't want any, right?

I've been trying to use Google Maps to estimate the distance of my jogging route (tough - as is footpaths in park rather than roads). I think it's just under 3 miles. There was a bloody cycling rally in the park last night, so I had to keep leaping out of the way or get mown down. Hooligans!

Ilythia · 04/08/2010 13:35

Well doen Under on resisting poo chips! Do you havea smartphone? I have a nokia that has a 'sportstracker' app, it records my pace, distance (via gps) and time, is very handy. Or downlaod google earth and do a path on it,, works much better than maps and you can save it!
I have been known to waste my last ounce of oxygen to swear at a cyclist on the pavement.

I'm doing shit I'm afraid. Headache was almost gone this morning but is back now, nothing touching it so am biffing, but only on oaty/nut bake things so not fatty, just carby.
Havne't done any exercise in 3 days as bending to pick up toys of the floor makes me want to throw up as well.

Undertone · 04/08/2010 14:34

Cripes - that headache sounds nasty, Ilythia. With the sickness as well - do you get migraines? Are you still achey? Do you have any funny rashes?

Sounds like you picked up some godawful bug from soft play hell.

Would defo keep biffing to give your body what it needs and get better as quickly as possible.

No smartphone. Technology = evil. Google Earth - I will go and take a peek.

Ilythia · 04/08/2010 14:47

Only ever had migraines when pregnant but it doesn't seem that bad, it was almost gone this morning but it's back with A Vengeance this avo. Bit achey but I didn't sleep well, no rashes.
Lovely doc has said I should go back if still bad by friday but unsure what she can do tbh. DH is, of course, convinced that I think I am ill because she said it. He has been so busy at work we have barely seen each other this week so he didn't know I had this for so long. grr at him.

Google earth is much better for working out stuff. and it's fun too!

Undertone · 05/08/2010 11:19

Morning all!

I had to send back a load of unsuitable for-like replacements with my Sainsburys delivery last Sunday (well - unsuitable because they delivered full-fat cottage cheese instead of reduced fat, horrible processed beef slices instead of proper roast beef slices, etc) so my cupboard is a bit bare this week.

I thought I would be Super Economical and, instead of doing a second shop, try and use up things in my cupboard/freezer. I've had these frozen coley steak fish portions (80 cal each!) for yonks. I thought I would try to make a low-fat fish curry and add lots of frozen veg.

My lord, it was foul. And I made loads of it (whenever I make something I do twice the amount so I can have it for lunch the next day). I am not looking forward to lunch. And I've had a meeting this afternoon sprung on me this morning, so I'll have to scoff loads of breath mints or else I will honk of curry and fish.

I'm doing a second shop tonight.

AND it's some feckless bugger's birthday today so there are two trays of Krispy Kremes with special fillings in the kitchen for everyone. It's OK people, I know they are actually filled with poo and topped with leprous scabs.

dinkystinky · 05/08/2010 11:58

Undertone - get some sweet chilli sauce and chuck it in the curry - I find in my experience that this makes ANYTHING taste better. FWIW, my mums fish curries (which are always fab) are always onion, tomatoes and herb based, plus fish and some mushrooms, peppers and potatoes. Other veg just doesnt work brilliantly.

I had v dull cod with salad last night for dinner - splash of sweet chilli sauce and suddenly it was much more palatable

Ignore the Krispy Kremes - they are poo topped holders of the divvils come (if that doesnt put you off them nothing will ).

tibni · 05/08/2010 21:35

hello all,

Sorry if im quiet but school holidays are so busy. ds (asd) has a busy social life this holidays so I am taxi service for him.

Not managed to get to the gym much but food has stayed ok. We go on holiday (3 adults, dd, ds and a mad year old lab puppy) on Saturday and I just need to get all packing done and the house clean before tomorrow evening so I can squeeze a gym session in before we go. I am on call 4.30-00.30 today so couldn't go this evening.

Will take laptop and trainers and running gear away but don't know how much chance I will get to use either. Will try and catch up with all of you soon.

Ilythia · 05/08/2010 21:42

Evening all, MIL had another stroke, 12 days before her 'coming home date' from the last one months ago. she is completely unresponsive, lost all movement, can't speak, they aren't even sure if she can hear them. DH staying up with FIL for next few days at least. I'm not going up because SIL is away so no-one to watch girls, they aren't allowed on stroke ward and house is in turmoil to get it adapted for her to come home so not much point really.
Eating shit
Exercise shitter as headache still lurking.

Will come back to thread when brain kicks back in.

Undertone · 06/08/2010 08:58

Oh my goodness, Ilythia! How awful for all of you. Sad I think eating shit is actually prescribed in situations like these.

dinkystinky · 06/08/2010 09:57

Oh Ilythia - I'm so sorry. Sending you and your loved ones hugs at this horribly worrying time. Take care of yourself and your girls - and Undertone is right, eating shit is actually prescribed in your situation.

Tibni - have a great holiday. I too am off on Saturday for 2 weeks (couple of days in Brighton then off to France for 10 days). Will do same as you with laptop and gym kit but equally no idea how much chance I'll get to use either.

Oh yes, weigh in - 10 5 again today.

Ilythia · 06/08/2010 10:50

hey, sorry for downer post, buit on 'bright' side am still 15st 6. erven though i biffed and ate croissants last night. weird.

have good hols all!

Undertone · 06/08/2010 12:40

Oh yeah! Weigh in - was 13stone 6.2, so 1.7lbs down this week.

tibni · 07/08/2010 21:16

Ilythia - so sorry to hear about your MIL. Take care of yourself and your family.

Well on holiday! Ds and dog managed to travel down without being sick Grin.

I have to watch this thread because by best friend has told me she is joining Monday

Well done Undertone on the weight loss

BudaisintheZONE · 09/08/2010 09:30

Hello! I'm baaaccckkk!

Glad to see you are all mostly still here! Well done on all your losses.

Ilythia - so sorry about your MIL.

Biffed for England. And Ireland, scotland and Wales. Blush Found it impossible to resist anything. Did NO exercise. Am afraid to weigh myself.

Holiday was good though. We were staying in our new house in Somerset and trying to decided what to do with it. Had meetings with architect and have a plan which is great. Am very excited now. Have to go back again in October for next stage.

DS was poorly before we left and as we travelled and I ended up taking him to the doctor as I remembered he had had a funny insect bit and I was a bit worried about Lyme Disease. Then DH got a funny bug. And then last week I got a fluey/chesty thing which started last Sunday. Triggered my asthma so I ended up at doc as well and was given a 5 day course of steroids. Am still hacking away.

Am back on track as of TODAY. DH has gone to supermarket and is stocking up all all good stuff. Am catching up on unpacking and washing etc etc. House is full of dust as workmen were in while we were away. They hacked out all the damp plaster in the basement and replaced it and repainted. Great. But they didn't cover anything so everything is covered in dust. Grrr.

Right. DH back so must go! Later!

Morning all - I guess this place may be a little quiet with everyone out and about!

Feeling peculiar today - a friend has become engaged, so we all did a girly celebration and went for a posh afternoon tea yesterday. I literally have not eaten any sugary treats/cakes/etc for weeks and weeks - no refined white flour products either. I feel ghastly and sluggish today. I didn't sleep very well last night.

Went for a 5.5 mile run on Saturday morning. GRR! Go me!

Ilythia - I downloaded google earth and was able to plot my route really accurately. I don't think it takes into account the crazy gradients around here though!

Something in my foot went 'pop' as I was walking barefoot around my flat on Saturday evening. Pain walking comes and goes in varying levels of intensity - it felt OK enough to go for a run Sunday morning. Sometimes the pain goes completely, but other times I am totally hobbling. There is a little bit of swelling and a very noticeable bruise.

What should I do? I feel a bit panicky about maybe having to stop running - I'm really enjoying it!
