NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING SLIM FEELS

Morning all.
New thread for weigh in Friday.
Old one taking forever to load.

Was SO bad last night. Fancied a glass of Rose wine so bought a nice bottle thinking DH would have it with me. He didn't. I had it all. Whole bottle. Dinner was actually fine - steak, a sausage, salad and a piece of halloumi. But then I had a mini magnum. And then drunken hunger kicked in when DH and DS had gone to bed. Had a packet crisps. A cheese sandwich . And another sodding magnum .

However. The good news is that I weighed and still managed to lose. Only a pound but at least i lost.

right, body pump done - having salad concoction from work salad bar for lunch. V virtuous but boring. Will treat myself to cherries for pudding.

How are all you other bootcampers doing?

Undertone · 28/07/2010 13:41

There's a gym around the corner. I called them up about membership fees but they would only email them to me.

I said 'can't you tell me over the phone?'
'No madam, we need to email you a PDF.'
'So you have it there in front of you on the screen?'
'Yes.'
'All the information I need?'
'Yes.'
'And you can't just tell me?'
'We want to email the PDF to you.'
'I'm not giving you my email address.'
'But then you won't be able to know how much it is to join?'

Gave up. Not promising - but when I've calmed down I probably will just give them my bloody email address and hope I don't get too much email spam thereafter.

Boot camp going OK so far. Normal brekkie and lunch. Bought some driet fruit as a snack - but having looked at the nutritional information I will have to ration that (rather than scoff it as I would like) - it's surprisingly calorific. Will forgo snack-a-jacks later. Been in a meeting all bloody morning - about to go into another one. Should really be doing some work rather than MNetting, but hey...

Ilythia · 28/07/2010 13:49

Afternoon all, sorry your ds is bad dinky, I always feel really tempted to biff when they are ill and I am tired, so stay in the zone!

Shred before breakfast, half a bowl of alpen (or a normal size according to them) plus nana.
Went to picnic witha friend and her dc's for lunch, I had ryvita with cream cheese and (not nice) ham, apple and mini cheddars again (I have a multipack, and at 126 cals I don't even feel guilty. Much)
My 'friend' did show me her gorgeous min apple pie thing with pastry, stewd apple and tiny blob of sponge on top, I couldn't refuse as it was made with the apples from her late mothers garden very small, but delicious.
Korma for tea, I am just having chicken and stir fry, no rice.

Under, I do have sky, it's on bravo and it's so bad it's good. am on episode 10 and it's only now I have stopped sniggering at bits though. advert here streaming here

dinkystinky · 28/07/2010 13:55

Undertone - just nip in on your way home from work and they can hand you the pdf in person. Saves your blood pressure and the spam...

DS2 is apparently in the zone too - according to his nanny he's had a grand total of 6 oz of milk and several litres of water to eat today...

Ilythia · 28/07/2010 14:03

Under, am ing at your gym convo, sorry!

tibni · 28/07/2010 14:29

dinky - hope your ds is soon better.

Undertone the gym I belong to is even worse; will not give prices unless you go on a visit and hard sell experience. Think I annoyed "Tanya" from sales as she was showing someone I know around. My friend asked me how much and I told her! All that hard mindwashing gone to waste!

Ilythia - that cake sounds gorgeous and its all about balance.

Have taken dd swimming this morning and hope to get grown up work out this evening if I have the energy.

Undertone · 28/07/2010 19:39

Lunch was packet of lean roast chicken slices, 2 tomatoes and some cottage cheese. Busy this p.m. so didn't have my apple - just a few more prunes from the pack of dried fruit. Got home - 30 min run around the park - definitely getting faster/less wheezy.

Dinner is asparagus with leftover turkey and tomato stew from yesterday. Have a pot of fat-free greek yoghurt so will have that with a bit of honey for pud.

Woop for day three of super-focused uber mental zone-tasticness.

I am going to my parents' house tomorrow night for Friday and weekend. I am going to take my sports bras, set of weights and Shred DVD with me. That's not... weird, is it?

TotalChaos · 28/07/2010 22:12

evening ladies, abs like this don't come for free

sadly my abs aren't quite as good as Anitas.

Day 2 of Zone has gone pretty well. Not exercised but done strenous stuff at work today which partly compensates.

dinkystinky · 29/07/2010 10:01

Glass of wine and some mackerel for dinner last night. Needed the wine - looking at our building tenders last night and needed something to cushion the shock...

Back to zone today - morning pilates class, skinny latte and porridge with low cal yoghurt for breakfast - then bodycombat at lunch time followed most probably by soup...

TotalChaos · 29/07/2010 10:19

all jolly good and heart healthy that dinner! went to my friends last night, and had boiled potatoes, peas and some baked white fish fillets, with strawbs for dessert (polishes halo wink]).

sympathies re:building, sounds like you are at the daunting stage, what you getting done?

managed 15 mins aerobics this morning. will try and do some this evening. am finding it hard in this weather as the humidity is triggering lots of aches and pains. nothing serious enough for ibuprofen, but unpleasant enough to make exercise harder!

dinkystinky · 29/07/2010 10:46

thanks TotalChaos. We're having pretty much everything done - extension to kitchen, knocking out walls downstairs, redoing bathroom upstairs, loft extension and second bathroom extension. Knew it was going to be £££s but still the tenders were abit of a shock!

CheeeseOnToast · 29/07/2010 11:39

Hi everyone

I need to get back into the bootcamp. My jeans are feeling tighter and tighter and I daren't weigh myself, so instead I am going to watch and learn from you lovely ladies and hope it rubs off. I've been mainlining salad this week for lunch but it's so boring. I think I'll try Undertone's packs of roast meat, might pop to M&S at lunchtime. Have been to the gym sporadically, mainly for 'toning' classes like pilates/body balance, but need to do some actual aerobic exercise.

I'm going to a festival this weekend, from Friday night to Monday morning, so I'll need to have iron willpower to avoid all the delicious food outlets. I'm ashamed to say I actually started salivating when I was reading the list of stalls that would be there

Sounds like you're all doing really really well. I'm amazed at how many of you are doing the Shred. I dont think I'd have the motivation to do a DVD at home, I just need to focus more on the gym classes. Plus work has been very very busy and I've only been to one lunchtime class in the last week. Should ease up from Tuesday though.

Dinky, hope your DS gets better soon, and Undertone, not weird at all to bring your equipment!!

madeindevon2 · 29/07/2010 12:03

can i join you ladies?

end 09 early 10 lost 2st 7lb. think april 09 was at my lowest. since then its creeping up again. basically put on 7lb so need to get myself back in check.
any joggers runners here!?
i try eat healthily but alcohol can sometimes be downfall because empty calories and it makes me hungry!!

TotalChaos · 29/07/2010 13:01

hello devon! sadly I am far too lazy to be a runner, but am sure you will find some proper fit types here.

hello cheese. I would go for damage limitation. So try and do the stalls only at mealtimes, and go for the better options. Eg. veggie curry rather than burger with ton of roquefort on, followed by chips and ice cream. And avoid puddings.

Undertone · 29/07/2010 13:49

Hi devon - I'm a crap runner. I'm lucky enough to live right next to a big park in London so I try to go at least a few times a week for 30-45 mins. Sometimes I even go nuts and stay out for more than an hour. The park is on a pretty steep hill, though. Early runs were NOT pretty. Mixing it up with the Shred on lazy (!!) days, plus cross-trainer for days when joints are sore.

One of the biggest changes I have made to my lifestyle is cutting out booze completely unless it's a special occasion. I am now an M.Phil in 'The Qualities of Sparkling Water and Sugar Free Squash Drinks'. Adding ice and lemon/lime to any nicely chilled drink makes it feel special, and a totally passable replacement for booze.

Cheese - I remember (hazily) an article in a magazine many moons ago which said when confronted with a burger van, always only go for chips and skip the burger - would just a small portion of chips control your grease craving? Could you take loads of class A drugs and just not eat anything all weekend?

OK - won't be around tomorrow so I did the official weigh-in this morning instead. Am now 189.8lbs (13stone 6.8lbs), down from 191.4lbs (13stone 9.4lbs) last week, making total loss from March start weight of 216.2lbs (15stone 6.2lbs) of 26.4 pounds.

I set myself a goal of losing 62 pounds over the course of a year. I'm 42.5% through that, 5 months in. ROughly on target.

dinkystinky · 29/07/2010 14:41

Hi Devon - welcome to our bootcamp. With booze, is it wine or beer or spirits that's your downfall? Can I suggest aiming for spirits and slimline mixers - longer drinks and less quaffable than wine and contain less calories too - so may help stave off the snacking. I do ocassionally run but its not my favourite exercise - find it v dull. Ilythia runs - and TMAM (who is currently AWOL biffing) runs loads so they're good for advice.

Undertone - well done you! Am impressed. Taking your dvd isnt weird - its committed

Cheese - lovely to see you on. Have a fab time at the festival. Make sure you dance lots if you're going to be biffing on yummy food too - the 2 should balance themselves out.

cocolepew · 29/07/2010 14:42

[waves and blows kisses]

CheeeseOnToast · 29/07/2010 15:23

Coco! How's things going?

Weeeell, I'm working at the festival while i'm there, should be roughly half on half off though so should have time to see a few things. Def no class A's though

Undertone, interesting theory about the chips vs burger van. Chips would satisfy the grease craving, but can't help thinking that if I went for a really nice burger, or hog roast type affair, that must be better nutrition/calorie-wise than chips? There is going to be an outlet of Byron Burger which is meant to be amazing, and they've got lots of other delicious sounding places. A Bangladeshi cafe too where they "pride themselves in cooking delicious, healthy curries". This is going to be bad isn't it!!!!! On the plus side, as I'm working, I won't be drinking all day every day like i would normally.

Your weightloss is very impressive Undertone. Oh and welcome Devon, I am a sometime runner. I did the London marathon two years ago and try to go running but can only just get motivation for the gym, not been for a run for ages. It's great though, I always enjoy it when I go.

madeindevon2 · 29/07/2010 15:49

helloooooo
its wine my downfall....but i like vod slimline too so maybe i should switch to that.
going to a wedding tomorrow and decided to drive for the day and just have a few in the evening (after DS goes to bed....we live fairly close to venue so will drive him home when he gets tired to the sitter and then get a cab back again) that saves me a good few calories of vino!!
im trying to get "into" runnning. i always feel good for going. im up to 12km in about 1hr 10 mins.
thinking about doing london marathon actually. my sister has a place and im kinda searching......

today i had toast and marmite, chicken soup, small tuna salad and im going to gym at 7pm. wont eat much after that.

Ilythia · 29/07/2010 16:04

Hello all, welcome devon + welcome back slacking biffers!

I haven't run for ages, since school has stopped is harder to find the childfree time!
Only quick one as am on phone cos laptop fucked. Went to friends with dd's and had cheese and eggs for lunch, chicken for tea. No shred this am as sports bra not dry from wash so hung it out + will do billy blanks abs later!

Oh and am off out tomorrow night with friend and have forgotten sues drinking rules, can someone remind me?

NomDePlume · 29/07/2010 16:11

Hi all

I am so Zone it's untrue. Now weighing in at 9st 1lb which is a loss of 18lb since joining Zone and a total loss of 23lbs since starting.

To be honest, I'm starting to feel a bit too light (am 5ft 7). I think I need to mentally step out of the Zone every now and again and regain a couple of lbs. Not much, just 2 or 3.

Orf to read rest of thread.

NomDePlume · 29/07/2010 16:15

madeindevon - wine is terribly calorific. V& slimlineT is virtually zero cals and blardy lovely.

madeindevon2 · 29/07/2010 16:19

whats shred?

NomDePlume · 29/07/2010 16:20

@ Quality's scotch egg!

Gawd, dinky, builders quotes can be terrifying.... Almost as scary as solicitors fees

madeindevon2 · 29/07/2010 16:21

wow nomdeplume!!
