Had a day off yesterday. Shit day at the office, DH flying to US to 10 days today, so we got drunk together and watched TV. Had two kids and a hangover to deal with this morning - yuk! But had a great day.

Had a couple of the DCs friends over to play. They wore out the DCs so much they went to bed an hour early - result!

Just done day 5. Apart from the push ups, which I am rubbish at, did the harder version of all the exercises. Am going to do it again tomorrow then may have a go a Level 2. Is it very much harder?

Oh the plank twists are scaring me...

JustBeachy · 04/07/2010 07:15

Day 6 level 1 : done

Got up extra early to do it as i had yesterday off due to lack of time/kids etc.

Managed half the push ups easy half hard today

notyummy · 04/07/2010 08:09

Well done beachy'

Skimummy · 04/07/2010 09:23

I am still here...had to take a day off on Friday as I did something to my back but pilates seemed to sort it out yesterday so...eased back into it with Level 1 this morning. I found it very manageable so am thinking this might be the day I go for a run as well. Hopefully writing that down will provide extra incentive!

Right this arrived yesterday, so I am off to do my first session now - wish me luck!

I've already done an Active Sports workout on the Wii this morning, am I insane to attempt them both in one day?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 04/07/2010 18:40

I have done it and lived, my thighs are like jelly though!

Hello Shredders!

I've been doing this intermittently for a few weeks now and am still modifying quite a bit. Yes Jillian, even the star jumps!

So, tomorrow I will wear trainers and really go for it.

The exercise I struggle with most (Level 1) is the squats with shoulder presses I think it's called, the compound move in the first circuit.
Anyone have any idea why this is soooo painful?

Skimummy · 05/07/2010 08:51

Thanks pistachio! Would you believe I actually went for a run last night - whoo! Given that I hadn't been for such a long time (around two months) it went surprisingly well so the shred has obviously kept up cardio fitness for me. Anyway, am going to try again one more time this week and build up from there.

Level 2 this morning. Doesn't matter how often I do this, those cheerleader v-raise things are a killer. Ouch!

wastingaway is it your shoulders that hurt? I have quite weak shoulder muscles and find that move hard as well. I have increased my weights since first doing it but still find it very challenging.

wastingaway · 05/07/2010 09:03

Yes pistachio, it's a killer!

I've really gone for it this morning and managed to do most of those, and did impact on the cardio.

I am visulising myself on Biggest Loser while doing the painful exercises.

Does anyone know of where I can buy sports knickers for wobbling tummy?

passmyglassplease · 05/07/2010 09:16

Back on the wagon, did level 2 this morning after having 4 days off!

The squats with the V lift thing are the hardest thing ever, they just dont get any easier.

wastingaway, I have the wobbly tummy thing going on as well, I look at myself as I do the star jumps in the mirror so I can see the tummy in action, it definitely keeps me motivated to finish the session

I can only assume that the wobbly tummy will disappear once I have burnt all the excess fat off, cos apart form the tum I don't have much to worry about. The only other solution left is to have the tummy tuck and 1) I cant afford it and 2) am not sure I am open to having surgery.

So for the moment the 30 day shred will have to suffice, keep shredding ladies.

thumbwitch · 05/07/2010 09:23

Hello Shredders! Can someone please be kind enough to enlighten me as to what is this shredding thing of which you speak, is it just some evil exercise DVD? I measured myself for a new bra today and was utterly horrified and at the size I was! I now need to do something urgently and since you are all here, I thought you'd be good people to ask!

Help me, please....

It's 20 minutes long, has three levels to progress and kicks your ass.

thumbwitch · 05/07/2010 09:38

Thanks Wastingaway! Now, I probably should just go and read the whole thread plus the previous one, but would you mind saving me from that and just telling me - does it really work? How much do you lose, how quickly? And can I do it if I have a bad back and tendency to sciatica?

wastingaway · 05/07/2010 09:40

I've not been going long, so I'll leave the others to answer, however I will say that I'm able to do the exercise even though I'm rather obese.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 05/07/2010 10:20

Hello wasting

Day 2 done! God it was hard to get started this morning, I nearly collapsed when it was time for the first round of star-jumps. Bizarrely though it got easier as I went along and I almost felt like I could have carried on. I find the skipping one the hardest, and the bicycle crunches.

On the wobbling tummy/pants thing, I just have some sloggis which come up to belly button which I wear to do it - keeps things under control somewhat.
Was saying to DH this morning that there is no way I would attempt a run outside at the moment because everything is too wobbly.

passmyglassplease · 05/07/2010 10:40

thumbwitch, it does actually work I have lost 2 inches off my waist, although it would appear that the wobbly tummy is rather more resistant

it works on the principle of doing a 20 min work out daily, there are 3 levels, each progressively harder.

and for some reason I don't find Gillian as boring as some of the other excersise DVD's out there, so it works for me.

thumbwitch · 05/07/2010 10:44

Thanks passmyglass. I have checked that it's available in Australia, it is, so I'll be off out this week to buy it - and then I'll be joining you!

GettinTrimmer · 05/07/2010 19:46

Hi everyone, I had a boozy, nibbles and pizza filled weekend, so I did level 1 and 2 today (but with 1kg weights!).

I can't manage the double skipping cardio bit on level 2 yet.

thumbwitch I would just advise be careful with your back and make sure you're positioned correctly. I strained my back when I first started and had to give it a break for a few days.

passmyglass Agree with you about the squats and the v lift. Luckily no-one else around, I was grunting loudly in the style of weightlifters!

Tortoise · 05/07/2010 21:52

Had a couple of days off due to poorly rabbit Saturday then vet had to put her to sleep sunday night. Tonight i have a bad head and just feel knackered after digging large hole to bury Bunny in .
Hopefully back to it tomorrow.

Maryqueenofchocs · 06/07/2010 08:01

Tortoise...so sorry...

I have been doing this every day and I've not lost a single pound in 10 days...I have lost couple of inches as clothes feel better, but combined with eating lettuce and crackers, I am feeling slightly hard done by...

I need motivating.
