Hello everyone. I've been doing this for about a month now (inspired by this thread) and have just completed day 15. I'm trying to do it every other day at least, although I've had a few larger gaps of 3 or 4 days.

Anyway, I didn't think I was really getting anywhere with it, but this morning I've managed to get into a pair of cropped jeans which I could hardly zip up a few weeks ago. I'm so chuffed! I'm not sooo concerned about weightloss (I don't own any scales) but just being able to fit into smaller clothes and not feel absolutely hideous is priceless. Keep on shredding everyone

Maryqueenofchocs · 06/07/2010 08:05

OK, just measured myself and lost 5 1/5 inches all over..

feel more motivated now........

Joby1970 · 06/07/2010 08:11

Tortoise - I know how you feel I had to put my cat to sleep last monday - he'd been with me 12 years
Franke & MQC - lots of us on here have had lots of inch loss & maybe not massive weight loss. But I for one don't care what I weigh as long as I look slim & toned! & don't scare small children when wearing my leggings in public lol

LostGirl · 06/07/2010 08:13

Maryqueenofchocs please just ignore the scales, your weight will fluctuate hugely depending on all sorts of things such as water retention etc. Trust on how your clothes fit and how you are feeling in yourself. According to my friends scales I am only about 5lbs lighter than I was a year ago, but I am nearly three dress sizes smaller. Make sure you are eating enough, and drinking plenty of water.

LostGirl · 06/07/2010 08:16

That's great, just ignore my post then, it clearly took me ages to type that!

notyummy · 06/07/2010 08:26

Well done Mary - that is great!

franke · 06/07/2010 08:27

3 dress sizes - well done. Well I'm certainly eating enough, although I have been looking at portion size a bit. But you're absolutely right LG - it's all about how you feel in yourself. Chuck out the scales I say. Sorry about your cat.

thumbwitch · 06/07/2010 08:29

Mary - another thing to remember - if you are exercising hard, don't limit your calorie intake too much or your bod will cling on to all your fat reserves because it thinks it's in starvation hunting mode. You need to feed it to get it to agree to let go of the fat, iyswim.

Skimummy · 06/07/2010 08:47

Sorry to hear about your pets Tortoise and Joby1970.

Great inch loss Mary. I don't weigh myself either but am motivated by that fact that I fit into close I could barely squeeze into before starting the shred.

Level 3 this morning - all good. Although legs quite sore after running as well. Could really feel the plie jumps which normally don't both me. And don't get me started on the jumping lunges!

In all seriousness - how great is this thread?!

Skimummy · 06/07/2010 08:48

Er...clothes

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 06/07/2010 09:16

Mary that is great inch loss!

Tortoise and Joby, for your pets.

Day 3 completed. The squats with shoulder presses killed me today, really killed me. I love getting up and getting it done first thing though, makes me feel really good about my day.

insertexpletive · 06/07/2010 10:21

Hello, can I join you please?

I am off work today as dd poorly, so thought I would make good use of the time and at long last open my 30 day shred DVD!

What a great workout! Love the fact that it is only 20 mins

I am also doing the Dukan Diet and have lost just about 2 stone, but feel that I need a toning up push now and some extra help to lose the last stone.

Will be reading through this thread with interest!

JustBeachy · 06/07/2010 10:24

Day 7 level 1 done

Had to make myself do it but once i started i enjoyed it!

Jazzicatz · 06/07/2010 10:57

Day 6 Level 1 done - definitely getting easier but I have upped the weights so my arms are sore but it is effective!

potplant · 06/07/2010 11:07

OK - so I have bought the DVD and I'm going to do it for the first time this afternoon.

Anyone got any tips etc?

notyummy · 06/07/2010 11:10

potplant - sports bra!! To do it properly you really need to commit yourself and work hard, and that involves flailing around.

Hand weights.

If you are doing it properly it should hurt, but remember it is only 20 minutes - by the time a section becomes really unbearable it will be time to move on.

Maryqueenofchocs · 06/07/2010 12:26

Thanks for all support, I love this thread too ski!

Have just gone out to buy DH swimmies for hols and bought myself some chino's in sale and a maxi dress..

....feel ever so motivated now!!!!

Joby1970 · 06/07/2010 12:26

Potplant - wear trainers. be aware that you may ache (a lot) tomorrow but this is normal - do try & do the workout tomorrow too.

chocolategal · 06/07/2010 13:02

Hi everyone,
DVD arrived yesterday so I have just finished day 2 whilst DS napping.

I have a holiday in October & I really want a more toned tummy for it!

Have loved reading this thread

Tortoise · 06/07/2010 13:56

Joby1970 Sorry about your cat

Still have a slight headache and feel really tired but tis the time of the month so probably that! Will try and force myself to do the DVD tonight!

Undertone · 06/07/2010 14:36

(Shh! Don't tell anyone I'm here! I'm from the 'Nothing tastes as good...' thread in big / slim / whatever)

I did day 1 of level 1 yesterday. I'm dying to do it again tonight even though I'm very sore. Do most people on here do consecutive days? Is there a correlation between people who do it on consecutive days and slow rates of weight loss because of muscle damage water retention (I've heard rumours)?

I SHOULD really still be concentrating on low-impact cardio causing a 120-140bpm heart rate for 45mins+ because my exercise needs are more about weight loss than toning. But drawn-out cardio like that absolutely bores me to tears. Was excited about 30DS because is only 20 mins.

Maybe I should just use it to jooj up my exercise mojo a bit in this heat?

Tortoise - sorry about your bunny

LostGirl · 06/07/2010 16:21

Undertone, cardio is actually overrated when it comes to weightloss. Weight training and high intensity interval training are a great way to increase fitness and build lean muscle (which in turn increases your metabolism so you burn more calories throughout the day, blah blah blah...). At the end of the day, weightloss is mainly down to what you are eating, but finding some sort of exercise that you enjoy doing is often key to changing the way that you look at food, seeing it as a positive thing that your body needs so that you can 'perform' better and see the results from your training. Seeing exercise as something that you 'should' be doing, rather than wanting to, and seeing food as something you shouldn't be eating is how we often end up in these unhealthy binge/diet cycles.

Joby1970 · 06/07/2010 16:45

undertone - do it tonight - the ache goes away I promise

Undertone · 06/07/2010 17:03

Righto guys - will do!
