itstimmytime · 25/05/2010 22:22

Uggmum - wow. 19 lbs in a month. Roll on August - got my best pal's wedding and would love to lose a couple of stone. Have had a mega stressful 1st day - had to take my toddler dd (21 months)to high school dd's parent's night as partner working. Not one of the appointments ran to time and the and the wee one created mayhem despite having literally 20 12/13 yr old girls wanting to play her she only wanted 'MUMMY' loudly! That and not having 2 mins to sit down between work, the dinner rush and school. And no carbs! Could murder a bag of chips! Oh well, there's never a good time to start a diet!

uggmum · 26/05/2010 07:04

Hi, I started off at 95 kg and I am now 86. I have been on the diet 4 weeks and 3 days.
I only have veg once/twice a veg to be honest but I never feel hungry. I have also upped the exercise.
I am going on holiday on Sat. I will relax it a bit but intend on starting again when I get back, I am aim to stay on the diet for 2 more months. I would like to lose a further 20 pounds.

Ok, am on day 2 and in a piss bad mood and headachey. Is this a side effect? (Or PMT? Or just me?!)

SuperSoph73 · 26/05/2010 13:09

Hey there. MrsFawlty - I felt a little headachey over the first few days as well. Make sure you drink lots of water. As for being in a bad mood, I think that's probably more to do with knowing you're on a diet

Well I weighed myself at the Farmacia today and I've lost 1.5kg this week. I'm definitely going to have to throw our scales out and get some new ones! Or I'll just stick to weighing myself once a week.

Well done uggmum

itstimmytime · 26/05/2010 19:30

MrsFawlty I am also a grumpy old mare. I had to make pizza and salad for dd1 and her pal and pasta for the baby and managed not to have any - yay. But I did take a bite out of apple in the car to give dd earlier to shut her up keep her occupied on the way home from shops after a shit day at work. Then I realised, but it was swallowed by then!!

On the upside got 2 gorgeous fillet steaks from the supermarket for £4 marked down and sprinkled chilli flakes, a bit worcester (prob not allowed?) and some balsamic and it was gorgeous and as partner is on lates, I didn't have to share. Woohoo.

itstimmytime · 26/05/2010 19:31

How does the striking out words work I wonder

SuperSoph73 · 27/05/2010 09:48

Hey there!
itstimmytime you have to put -- before and after every word to strike them out I think a bit of worcester is fine. I must admit to not taking as much notice of the stuff I use for marinades as I don't use that much and, let's face it, you need the meat to taste of something! I have also given in to the odd piece of apple now and then when I'm cutting one up for DS1 and the odd strawberry. I can't actually believe how much I enjoy it when I do as I'm not really a fruit and veg person. Now though I can't wait for my PV days

KodakTheBat · 27/05/2010 09:54

Hi.... I'm 9s 8lb. I want to be below 9stone in 2 weeks, do you think with this diet it would be possible??

MrsFawlty · 27/05/2010 11:09

I started on Tuesday (not this exact diet but low carb) and have lost 4lbs.

SuperSoph73 · 27/05/2010 11:15

Hey Kodak, I think it's definitely possible but just remember that during the attack phase is when you will lose a significant amount of weight. After that you lose gradually - IME that is

KodakTheBat · 27/05/2010 11:42

I have been trying to cut carbs down alot and trying not to have any wheat. So this is just meat? and eggs? Don't know if I have the strength to be that strict bet it's expensive too?

My current day's menu is something like this:

Slice of toast (budgen bread) with fresh orange juice

Oatcakes with cheese and pickle, banana, activia 0% fat yogurt

Fish, rarebit sauce and veg.

I was doing the 30 day shred too, but have had a break as having some health probs.

SuperSoph73 · 27/05/2010 11:57

Kodak - sorry to say this but you can't have the majority of stuff that you've just listed You can't have fruit until you've actually reached your goal weight and there are certain fruits to steer clear of altogether. No cheese unless it's 0% cottage cheese or similar as long as it's 0%, no bread until goal weight reached, no veg until you start the second phase (cruise phase), oatcakes are a no-no as well I'm afraid. You can add oatbran to natural yoghurt but the only flavoured yogs you can have are vanilla, lemon & coconut AFAIK. You also shouldn't eat yoghurts with fruit pulp in them but can have one every now and then (or maybe once a day I can't remember).

Take a look at this blog it's brill and will give you recipe ideas. Sorry to sound so negative. Hope this helps.

KodakTheBat · 27/05/2010 13:11

How long is the attack stage? You think it's do able then? I've found now I've got to this weight it's like I've hit a brick wall and can't get any more off.

SuperSoph73 · 27/05/2010 13:26

Yes I think it's "doable", just don't get too peed off if you don't lose quickly. You need to go onto the website and work out the correct way to do it. It'll only take a couple of minutes. The attack phase is between 1 - 10 days depending on the information you put in. It's really self-explanatory.

However, it may also be that the weight you've reached is the weight you're supposed to be! That's just my opinion btw I'm definitely no expert when it comes to dieting

KodakTheBat · 27/05/2010 13:39

Thanks for link... it says my ideal weight 8s 12lb and that by following the diet I could reach it by July..which is a bit too late. Says 3 days on the attck phase and I'll loose 2lbs, then 32 days of cruise, in which I'll loose 8lbs.

SuperSoph73 · 27/05/2010 14:43

Can I just ask why you have to lose in 2 weeks? I think you can lose weight faster if you stay on the attack phase for longer.

SuperSoph73 · 27/05/2010 14:49

I have to say that I believe some of these "ideal" weights are a load of cobblers. The only one that really knows what's "ideal" is you tbh and depending on health, what's going on at the time, etc it's not always possible to be an "ideal" weight. I should be 61kgs according to health professionals here. If I ever did reach that weight (which I know I never will) I'd look like I'd been on hunger strike LOL

KodakTheBat · 27/05/2010 17:17

Final fitting for my wedding dress is in 2 weeks time! 8 and a half stone is what I weighed when I was most happy with my body, and that was after DS1, since DS2 I've really struggled to shift it. Probaby 97% of the extra weight is on my tummy though - not good for wearing a bikini on honeymoon, which I'd really like to do.

Miggsie · 27/05/2010 20:51

After 6 weeks I'm thoroughly sick of lumps of protein and am rapidly losing my appetite.

Yesterday, after a terrible terrible day (work), I ate a slice of fruit cake.

Oh dear.

I doubt I'll lose any weight this week but I don't appear to be putting it back on.

7 kg gone so far...I must say I didn't lose anything in the first 6 days (attack) but now it drops off regularly (cruise), but I am SICK of chicken.

Actually, today my brother brought a joint of pork from his own pig that he reared and killed and it was YUMMY!

It's nice to know I could yomp down an unlimited amount.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Pity I couldn't have any roast potatoes.

Into each life a little rain must fall.

I'm trying to get to my pre-baby weight. I liked being that size, so I have 5 kg left to go, although I'll be happy to lose another 3kg and then stop there.

And why is it, that when you lose weight, the LAST place it goes from is above your bikini line and that really irritating jiggling bit on the inside of your thigh?

itstimmytime · 27/05/2010 22:49

Supersoph I agree re ideal weight. If you feel happy with yourself weight and health wise then surely that's enough. I'm almost too big for 16 jeans and a 12/14 is my ideal as I have hips, an arse and big boobs I want to hang on to!

Ok day here, day 3 better than 2 - salmon and scrambled egg for brekky - yum. Smoked trout ala Lidls for lunch. Sirloin steak from M&S 3 for a temmer (also bought some chicken and salmon steaks - good deal for those on this diet!) and a disgusting 'galette'. What's the trick? Mine was more porridge than pancake!

MrsFawlty · 28/05/2010 08:11

I am literally losing 2lbs a day! 6lb lighter now since Tuesday! Can't all be water, can it?

KodakTheBat · 28/05/2010 09:33

Might give it a go for a few days and see what happens. Does this sound better than my current meal plan:

Scrambled eggs with one of those pancake things I keep reading about (need to get recipe)
Smoked salmon and prawns for lunch
Yogurt with that grain thing I've seen mentioned (need details)
Steak for tea (do you just have steak on it own?)
