Anyone else doing 30 day shred?

I heard lots about it and got the dvd. I'm on day 2 and can feel my muscles aching!
I'm trying to combine it with a diet too.

Is anyone else doing this/thinking of doing it?

I am on day 8 and got it over with this morning. Was sopposed to go nordic walking this afternoon and couldn't be bothered.

Squid, body brushing is fab. I also did juicing for seven days with drinking warm water and lemon and my cellulite went completely.

Squidmission · 21/04/2010 17:56

I'm thinking of doing juicing for a while, maybe 5 days. I just need a boost.
How much weight did you lose?

I didn't do it for weight loss but more for health but definitely lost weight. I think it was the last time that I felt really good in my clothes though I'm only a size 10 now.

GoldenSnitch · 21/04/2010 19:19

No shred for me today

DS was tired after his first day at preschool yesterday and has been a nightmare because he's tired. 4 month old DD woke up 4 times last night too so I've been tired and headachey as well.

Have written off today as a bad day and will try again tomorrow.

justaminute · 21/04/2010 19:48

Day 13 - Done.
I'm in awe of those of you considering or doing Level 2 so early on - well done.

livvylouis · 21/04/2010 20:23

Day of the shred done!

Chickend out on level 2 tho!

livvylouis · 21/04/2010 20:23

sorry day 3 done!

Tortoise · 21/04/2010 20:50

Think i will leave day 1 until tomorrow sometime. Coughing quite a bit tonight.

cyteen · 21/04/2010 20:50

Day 2 done while DP was putting DS to bed It has actually made me hurt less...till tomorrow

twinkle did you go to Zumba in the end?

Squidmission · 21/04/2010 20:54

Lol livvy Day of the Shred sounds like some horror film.
day 7(I think!) just done!

Good idea tortoise. Hope you're better soon.

Cyteen i did zumba and am going again tomorrow night and I can't wait.. it doesn't get me too puffed but it is fun and beats just sitting in front of the telly doing nothing!! You should try it....

Day 3 done last night.. am absolutely knackered as I went for a 6 mile walk yesterday am starting to feel muscles that I never knew existed!!! So at least I know it is working.....

cyteen · 22/04/2010 09:56

lol twinkle I already do

Am surprisingly limber today. Maybe there's something in this daily exercise lark...

Squidmission · 22/04/2010 09:56

You're right Twinkle about an activity beating just sitting infront of the tv (and snacking too much while watching tv which I'm sure helped me to gain this weight!)

Think I'll take a day off shredding today as my arms and legs were very wobbly yesterday. I'm using weights which are definitely pushing me as I have very weak arms.

I'll do something else though.

Defo throw the scales away - I don't think I've lost any weight - but have dropped 2 dress sizes in the past year.

TracyK · 22/04/2010 11:22

What's Zumba like?

cyteen · 22/04/2010 11:24

It's really fun - aerobic exercise modelled on various Latin American dance moves, set to suitable music.

TracyK · 22/04/2010 11:44

Is it just like the promo videos? I somehow wonder how it will translate into a rainy Glasgow class?

Does it shape you or are you so busy trying to keep up that you don't get the technique right enough to get toned iykwim?

cyteen · 22/04/2010 11:49

I can't answer the shaping question since I've only been going for a few weeks, but it definitely does make you sweat. The infomercials don't lie re. the enjoyment factor either - our class is held in a drafty Midlands church hall but everyone is smiling and laughing as we samba about like idiots

TracyK · 22/04/2010 12:02

I think I might give it a go - though my nearest class is 40 mins away!

Joby1970 · 22/04/2010 12:56

oi this is the shred thread not the zumba thread lol

justaminute · 22/04/2010 19:24

Zumba sounds far too public. I prefer to puff & sweat in the privacy of my front room .

Another shred day ticked off. I fear I might not be able to stand up if I bend down though!

Tortoise · 22/04/2010 19:31

Cough is a bit better today so aiming to do day 1 in a little while. Need to let tea go down 1st!
I have walked around 6 miles today. Which is about the same as i normally do as we live a mile from school and have no car.

poshtottie · 22/04/2010 20:45

I did day 9 tonight. Stayed on level 1 as am going dancing all day Saturday and evening and want to be able to move my hips.

Definitely getting easier but still hard enough that I am feeling the benefit.

Tortoise · 22/04/2010 21:44

Well, i got part way through (just got to abs)before DD2 came downstairs crying, coughing and saying her head hurts bad.
So have had to call it a night. Just my luck, the night i deside to start i get interrupted.
Was finding it quite hard but was just getting into it. Hopefully can do day 1 tomorrow!

GoldenSnitch · 22/04/2010 22:01

90% of day 4 done before DD's wailing and DS's endless requests for help with stuff forced me to stop. I did manage to run just over 2k once DH got home though which should have made up for it
