Anyone else doing 30 day shred?

I heard lots about it and got the dvd. I'm on day 2 and can feel my muscles aching!
I'm trying to combine it with a diet too.

Is anyone else doing this/thinking of doing it?

Day 28 done!

I am proof that it gets easier, although I have been told I am very stubborn. I have done something odd to my shoulder though and have to do push-ups on my knees but otherwise all good. I am now looking forward to finishing the 30 days and starting on mixing it up.

I wish Jillian would do another 20 minute workout DVD...

Tortoise · 08/06/2010 23:10

Bit late tonight but day 25 (day 5 WO 3) done. I was determined to fit it in tonight and glad i did. However, i stink now lol!

LetThemEatCake · 08/06/2010 23:32

hello! I've been lurking a while, sorry about that But inspired by you all, I bought the DVD and have just completed Day 2. Started at Level 1 last night and wasn't really feeling it, so moved on the Level 2 tonight and feel very much like I've had a workout. Oooh, that plank stuff is nasty!!

about me: have lost the baby weight I accumulated with dc3 (born last Sept) and am now a bit under my starting weight thanks to obsessive strict dieting and running when poss (not always easy, due to lack of childcare). Reasonably happy with weight now (am 5'10" and 9st8) but just need to shape and tone up. Hope this does the job!!

gotareason · 09/06/2010 01:31

Thanks Naetha I've never exercised in this way before - bite sized chunks - and I think it's a brilliant idea because it leaves me no excuse for not being able to fit it in somewhere (well done Tortoise for managing this time of night!)

Skimummy · 09/06/2010 08:44

Welcome LTEC - I am actually a lurker on your W&A thread but not stylish enough to join in...

Anyway, I think this will work well for you. Should definitely tone you up! I often ponder what the effect would be if you were thin to begin with (unlike me) so will be interested to hear how you go.

I can't even remember what Level 1 was like now!

Tortoise I am also on late workouts now due to visitors that have taken up the spare room and living room. I find it much harder to get motivated to do it when I get home from work.

CaurnieBred · 09/06/2010 13:16

Ladies - you have also inspired me. Will do my WO1, Day 2 today. Am also on WW so fingers crossed I will see a bit of a change between now and my holiday in August!

LetThemEatCake · 09/06/2010 13:33

skimummy don't be daft, if you are interested enough to read our fashion-obsessed carry-on then you should definitely be posting! I agree, there are some stylish and cashed-up ladies on there but most of us are mere mortals trying to look our best.

achey abs today, yay!!

FeedTheBeast · 09/06/2010 18:20

I am stunned to find I have been looking forward to shredding! the 3 circuits are fab - you finish in no time. Hope I can keep it up.

notjustapuppymum- Thanks for the warning about my tummy muscles and sit ups so soon aften having my dd. They only split 1 finger width, and think they are ok now but I do have an appointment to get it checked properly.

Managed to do a few more push up today which is a vast improvement on day 1 & 2!

Naetha · 09/06/2010 19:58

I'm going to have to stop shredding for now - my knee is really really sore, and I've got a 5k run on Sunday

Hopefully a few days rest will see me through, but I'm going to really miss my daily shred.

I did it earlier when the kids were in bed, but DH is late home tonight, and I'd be tempted to do it again if my knee wasn't knackered

justaminute · 09/06/2010 23:17

Good luck with the 5k Naetha, hope you are shredding again soon.

I missed the shred last night so attempted to do Levels 1 and 2 back to back tonight. Those of you that do this must be uber fit!
Never before has a glass of water been drunk so rapidly and appreciated so much I was definitely (to quote Jillian) "feeling like I was gonna die"

trumpton · 10/06/2010 08:19

Trumpton's baaaack. Started level one again today having completed the shred at end of May and been on holiday. Measured again before starting and have CONTINUED to loose inches ( well bits of inches ) probably due to lots of walking on holiday. I had forgotten what fun it is . Will try to do every day again until I go away to see best friend in mid July. So I have time to do it all again.

Skimummy · 10/06/2010 09:01

Oooh, I am soooo close to finishing but not going to get a chance to Shred today due to a long-booked date night with DH. So I am sitting on day 29 and will be done tomorrow!! Very excited! That said, will keep on as I am really enjoying doing 20 sweaty minutes of exercise a day.

Welcome back Trumpton and well done on the continued inch loss. You continue to inspire!

shinybootsofleather · 10/06/2010 09:04

Garrggh! I can't seem to do more than a couple of days at a time without life getting in the way. Have had the DVD for 2 months now and I have not progressed past level one. Must do better!!

Tortoise · 10/06/2010 10:27

Didn't shred again last night. Seem to have slipped out of the habit of doing it every night. Will try tonight.

justaminute · 10/06/2010 10:35

tortoise get back on the Shred!

You are nearly at the end and I'm itching to discover your results as you sound like a smiliar size to me

gotareason · 10/06/2010 11:19

Good luck naetha! Think you're doing the sensible thing and you will probably come back stronger from a rest. shinyboots - know what you mean I ended up missing yesterday, had the DVD in my hand and the phone went, and then the door and then the phone again until I'd run out of time...

Just done today tho' so feeling happy with that - best just to ignore the outside world for those 20 mins

Squidmission · 10/06/2010 11:37

Good luck Naetha! Hope youre knees get better.

Hi Trumpton - I think we're mirroring each other at the moment. I'm in exactly the same situation as you.

Just started back again after completing it again and going on holiday!

Day 1 done!
I'd forgotten how brilliant it is and, yes, it's still a challenging workout!

SirCharlieStinkySocks · 10/06/2010 12:28

May I join?

Got the dvd a few weeks ago, did it around 3 time s a week but lasped over half term due to bad ankle and went back to beginning this week. Plan on doing it 4 times a week, can't do Wed or weekends, is that feasible to make a difference?

Finding it challenging, I'm hopeless at pushups but I find the squat and press thing really hard, I have no arm strength at all!! Anyone else finding this?

Anyway have done workout 1 session 3 today so feeling rather virtuous, got nearly 2 stone I'd like to shift

Tortoise · 10/06/2010 12:32

justaminute Thanks, I WILL do it. Not expecting huge measurements change but even a little change is good.

trumpton · 10/06/2010 13:48

Oh I love this thread. Somebody tell me what happens when we reach 1000 posts ?

Tortoise · 10/06/2010 14:14

Trumpton We need to start a new thread before 1000 posts as no one will be able to post on this one after that. Must have a new thread, this one has been great.

gotareason · 10/06/2010 14:17

Do you think the thread blow up at 1000 trumpton?
Hi charliestinky (may I call you that your lordship?) we sound pretty similar - I'm 3 stone overweight, on day 3 level 1 and have no arm strength! Definitely felt stronger today though as the aches have subsided to a more normal level (prob because I missed yesterday)and actually managed two push-ups in the 'hard' position which I've never attempted before.
I think you will definitely see results with a 4 day pattern and it might even help to reduce the chance of further damage to the ankle.

gotareason · 10/06/2010 14:19

ooh tortoise x with your post - I didn't realise there was a limit - will there be a prize for the last post?

Tortoise · 10/06/2010 16:42

Good x post.

Feeling positive this afternoon. A mum at school said to me 'You need to stop losing weight' i asked 'why' and she said because you look fine as you are'. I did say that clothes can hide things well lol! The wobbly bits are there just smaller and held in by jeans . Also recommended the shred DVD to her and she is going to look on Ebay for it. She is quite big so i did warn her that it is pretty hard going. Wasn't sure how much to say TBH.

Squidmission · 10/06/2010 18:40

Great comment to recieve Tortoise
No one except dh has noticed my weight loss. I think if I lose 7lbs more then people will definitely notice a difference.
I'm thinking of doing some short sharp drastic 'lose 7lbs in a week' diet as a boost.

Anyone know of any good ones? No low carbing or juice only diets as I've done those and although they worked, I can't bear to do them again!
