Anyone else doing 30 day shred?

I heard lots about it and got the dvd. I'm on day 2 and can feel my muscles aching!
I'm trying to combine it with a diet too.

Is anyone else doing this/thinking of doing it?

Anbody want to be my buddy? Is anyone else day 8 level 1?

GettinTrimmer · 27/05/2010 13:18

Hi Kodak, yes I've just done day 8 level 1, then followed it by doing the aerobics section of Davina Fit. I don't usually do it every day.

How are you finding it now? I managed to just about do the first set full press-ups.

Had a sneaky look at level 2. Gulp!!!

KodakTheBat · 27/05/2010 13:51

Can you hold my hand

I have had a week off (I thought it was just a few days)

I was finding the press ups harder each time, the last time I did it I managed 3 in a row, and thats on knees

Waiting for DS2 to have a nap and I will put it on. Still feeling achey after bad period though...will let you know how I get on !

Naetha · 27/05/2010 15:50

Phew - just graduated from using tins of beans as weights to using proper 2kg weights and it is HARD!!!

My calves are buggered atm, and don't even get me started on the press ups!

Still, hoping to stick with it and get some inches lost as well as some pounds.

Tortoise · 27/05/2010 22:46

Day 21. Day 2 of WO 3!
Managed a little better than 1st attempt but find some of the moves nigh on impossible! Especially rock star jumps and the plank one where your hands are on top of weights. Mine just don't feel strong enough to lean all my weight on. They felt like they were about to split so i did it without the weights but still struggled lol!

Going to keep trying over the next 2-3 nights then review how i feel about it. Wonder if maybe better to do WO 1 or WO 2 instead as it must be better to do that than to not do as much on WO 3.

Just 9 days to go! Will have to do an extra day of one WO because i only did 9 days on WO 1.

Joby1970 · 28/05/2010 08:11

rock star jumps are well hard I agree.

Skimummy · 28/05/2010 15:34

One more day of level 2 and then...I do not like the sound of these rock star jumps at all!

trumpton · 28/05/2010 16:31

I put my jeans on this morning and they were tight and I was and then I realised they are my size 12 jeans that I couldn't get on at all a month ago. Been wearing them all day < happy bunny emoticon>

Joby1970 · 28/05/2010 16:38

Excellent Trumpton - I've managed to get into some Skinny Jeans - not sure if they are fashionable anymore - or even if I like them but still lol

Tortoise · 28/05/2010 22:36

Day 22 Day 3 or WO 3.
Again managed a bit better than previous night. Abs are really aching. They were a bit before i started tonight now worse lol! Knees suffering too. I decided not to do jump squats as that seems worse for my knees so did normal squats.

GettinTrimmer · 29/05/2010 11:40

Morning Shreddies, just done Day 9 Level 1, usually do every other day, but I will do day 10 tomorrow, then start level 2 on Monday.

kodak how are you doing?

joby Well done on the skinny jeans

Skimummy · 29/05/2010 11:46

Good to see I am not the only one doing this on a long weekend!

Have just done Day 20...so level 2 is done (just when I was able to do it all without switching to the modified version) and will be doing level 3 tomorrow. Half scared and half looking forward to it.

Also, think I can definitely say it has made a huge difference to my waist - no more muffin top!

Tortoise · 29/05/2010 12:01

Skimummy Good luck with your 1st day of WO 3. Have you previewed so you know what to expect?

Skimummy · 29/05/2010 18:27

Thanks Tortoise I have not previewed...have decided I prefer to be pleasantly surprised!

Tortoise · 29/05/2010 19:21

Enjoy the surprise.

Skimummy · 30/05/2010 11:56

Surprise is not the word...

Level 3 is HARD! All the jumping things...lunges, squats...my legs were killing me in the first set.

I have an issue with my weights too - they don't have a big enough gap for me to hold them in plank position so I had to do it without weights. May have to look for some new ones.

OK, I think I need to go immerse myself in some cold water to try and get rid of my bright red face!!

notyummy · 30/05/2010 12:07

Well done skimummy! It is hard isn't it. I find the press ups on the weights and leg raises really tough. I also have a lower back issue at the moment and can't do the rock star jumps becaise I can't get my legs up high enough. I also find those jumping lunges bloody tough!

Tortoise · 30/05/2010 13:09

Well done Skimummy I have found it gets a little easier as you get used to the moves. Still can't get my legs up far on rock star jumps!
Jumping lunges, i do the easy version!

Missed last night due to watching Euro! Back to it tonight.

Hi

I just got this through the door on friday, decided to buy it after reading this thread, so can I join for some moral support, its so hard, I can't believe how difficult it is. I did the level 1 yesterday, I couldnt do all of the press ups even on my knees and had to stop a couple of times, my legs are aching today. I havent done it all today, started and then got interrupted, is this going to get easier.

Although its going to kill me, I can tell that this dvd will give me some results or at least I hope.

thanks

notyummy · 30/05/2010 20:52

It is hard isn't it? I have exercising for quote some tome and would class myself as fit, but I find it challenging-I hope that is some consolation for you! What my years of exercising have taught me is that to get some of the bodies you see in the magazines, especially when you have had children or are over 30/35, then you really have to be prepared to push yourself and hurt a bit to get results.

Skimummy · 30/05/2010 21:57

OK, have bought some new (heavier!) weights to try tomorrow. Would you believe I got down in plank position in John Lewis to test them out???!!!

Welcome puddinmama - of course it will get easier...then you go up a level!

notyummy I think you are absolutely right about being post-child. I got to the point where I knew I had to really push myself to get the jelly belly under control. The Shred has definitely helped but it hasn't been easy.

Oh, I had my first "You've lost weight" comment today so that was nice. Shame we went out for Indian tonight...but motivation to keep on going tomorrow!

notyummy · 31/05/2010 11:06

Ok, I hurt. I very enthusiastically did level 1 and level 2 back-to-back yesterday, using 3 kg weights throughout and making sure I did the hard version of everything. Interestingly, I thought my arms/shoulders would hurt, but it is my backside that is aching. As it is my backside and thighs that are my 'problem areas', this is probably no bad thing. Yoga and cross trainer for me today I think!

Skimummy · 31/05/2010 12:06

I hurt too...level 3 again. I had to switch down to the modified version on some exercises as my stomach, shoulders or legs hurt too much! And, honestly, why did I buy those heavier weights?!

At least I am keeping my DH amused when I emerge all red and sweaty.

GettinTrimmer · 31/05/2010 14:21

I am still using 1kg weights, but did day 10 level 1 this morning.

Looking forward to day 1 level 2 on Wednesday (do every other day!).

puddinmama it does get easier, after I did day 1 I ached so much I gave it a rest for a few days and did an easier dvd. It's a sign I'm ready to move on, muscles ache when I'm doing the level 1 still, but no aching afterwards now.

skimummy how long did it take you to progress to heavier weights? I should increase mine now I think.
