Anyone else doing 30 day shred?

I heard lots about it and got the dvd. I'm on day 2 and can feel my muscles aching!
I'm trying to combine it with a diet too.

Is anyone else doing this/thinking of doing it?

Just started this - on day 2 and ooh I ache from the press ups! Everything seems OK on Level 1, although tiring. Looking forwards to doing the whole thing - it's just the right length that I can do when DS is in bed, and either DD with me (giving me looks of utter confusion from her jumperoo) or occasionally when they're both asleep.

I'm doing a 5k run in 3 weeks time, but just don't have the time to go running in the evening that often (managing once or twice a week). I just hope this helps!

Tortoise · 25/05/2010 18:41

Mummytotwins I am a size 14-16.

Feeling nervous about doing WO 3 tonight! Really tired after doing walk with school today but will still make sure i shred tonight.

My Skechers tone ups flip flops arrived today so hopefully they will help too!

SatinandTat · 25/05/2010 20:48

Hello shredders!
Thanks to your enthusiasm I purchased the dvd the other day. Just done day two - it really feels like a good work out doesn't it? The first day nearly killed me, today wasn't so bad. What do you do on days when you are already taking an exercise class - I do spin a couple of times a week. Do you still do the shred? Thanks for the thread.

Squidmission · 25/05/2010 20:53

I haven't been able to shred over the last couple of days,
I only have 3 more to do to complete it and after that, I'm just going to carry on doing a shred session 4-5 times a week.
I think its a brilliant dvd and I can't believe how effective it is and 20mins a day suits me perfectly!
Dh just said to me today that the shred dvd is fantastic and the results are amazing - he's not doing it by the way, he was just looking at me

I'd still like to lose another stone though so I'm carrying on.

Satinandtat I don't shred on the days I do any other exercise. I go spinning too and have just started tennis lessons.

Well, squid, just by starting this thread you have inspired people like me to buy the dvd, so maybe you can include our collective weightloss on top of yours

satin - it depends how I feel after other exercise; though in fact I usually try to shred first thing so I know I've got it done for the day, so often end up doing other exercise when the opportunity presents but have already shredded by that time IYSWIM. And sometimes it just depends how fat I feel. Or whether I can find any time for any exercise!!

Tortoise · 25/05/2010 21:56

Phew! Day 1 of WO 3 done. Well, i say done but i did have to stop quite often lol! Felt quicker than other 2 WOs. Maybe cos the moves are generally faster?
Will try again tomorrow and see how that goes. 1st day of WO 2 i struggled so will persevere for now!

chocolatestar · 25/05/2010 22:53

Managed to do another day today. Been in too much pain the last two days to even think about it! Did a wee run yesterday instead. Not aiming to do it everyday, thinking about it more long term and will try for four times a week or something. See how well I do!

mummytotwins · 25/05/2010 23:59

I AM SHREDDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wooooohoooooooo!!!

Ok so in 30 days I have lost:

6.5lbs (been doing ww too)
0.5" off my arms (not being using weights just tins of beans lol)
1.5" off my chest
2.5" off my waist
3.5" off my hips
3.5" off each thigh

Best money I ever spent!!!

Now need to decide, do I just start over from level one again or mix it up a bit?!!?

Well done to everyone doing this workout, keep going, getting to the end feels amazing!!!

LostGirl · 26/05/2010 08:07

WOW! Amazing inch loss mummytotwins, congratulations. Very of your new thighs

Squid, if you are going to continue with the shred then can I suggest you start using slightly heavier weights? Once you can do all the exercises and the number of repetitions with good form with the weights your using then it means that your body has adapted to the routine and therefore does not need to make any more changes. By upping the weight you will be challenging it again and forcing it to adapt and then you will continue to see the results.

Skimummy · 26/05/2010 08:14

Wow mummytotwins amazing results - 3.5" off each thigh!!! I am so impressed.

Have just done day 17 so only 3 more days until the dreaded Level 3 and you have really inspired me to keep going. I wish I had measured now! I am sure I have lost size, if not weight. Sadly some of that seems to be off my already rather flat chest...

Well done!

DH asked me last night what I was going to do when I finished the 30 days. The plan at this stage is to start running again a couple of mornings and do the shred (different levels) a couple of mornings. We'll see!

Joby1970 · 26/05/2010 08:23

To those who have finished the Shred. I think def up the weights a bit &/or do two levels together. When I first finished the 30 days I went back to level one thinking it'd be easy - but it really worked me out again.

I have also mixed the Shred in with other exercise as it motivated me enough to join a gym lol.

Well done mummytotwins v impressive inch loss.

Squid - that's a fab comment from your DH

notyummy · 26/05/2010 08:48

Would second Joby and Lostgirls suggestions on weights/upping the timing. I use either 3kg or 5kg weights with the Shred now, and sometimes do levels 1 and 2 back-to-back. Alternatively I do one level and then jump straight on the crosstrainer.

I can also echo the fact that even having finished the programme, the DVD can still be challenging. I did level 1 again the other day, using heavier weights and was really careful about doing the 'hard' version of every exercise, plus keeping my form (got down REALLY low in the squats!) It's fair to say that I ached a bit the next day.

trumpton · 26/05/2010 08:54

mummytotwins Here is the especially polished trophy, please have it engraved and pass to next finisher. AND for squid who inspired me a special "ithurtssomuch" trophy.
Amazing inch loss mummytotwins Congratulations. Am mixing the days for shredding now and still eating sensibly . I feel great. Holiday on Sat .

justaminute · 26/05/2010 12:44

Seriously amazing inch loss mummytotwins. I'm in awe. well done.

Tortoise · 26/05/2010 13:41

Wow fab inch loss Mummytotwins. You must be thrilled.

Squidmission · 26/05/2010 15:17

Wow from me too Mummtotwins!
That inch loss is brilliant. You must look fantastic

I did day 28 today. I do still strggle with some of the exercises and do the easier versions. Its mostly the plank ones I struggle with so I think carrying on with it after 30 days will be fine for me. I do have heavier weights so I'll try to use those but not for another couple of weeks I think.

Thanks for the trophy Trumpton but I think I've only carried on because everyone on this thread have been really motivating
Its great to see that people have been so transformed by it!

OP posts:
notyummy · 26/05/2010 15:23

Very, very impressed with the inch loss!

I don't need to lose weight, but wouldn't mine dropping a couple of pounds tbh. May have to start watching what I eat more as well as exercising.

Am inspired by the great results.

Can I ask mummytotwins (tell me to poke off if this is too personal!) - what sort of size and fitness you were before? I am trying to gauge what sort of difference it should make to someone my size, and I suspect that it may have something to do with size/fitness levels to begin with.

3Happy · 26/05/2010 21:06

well done, mummytotwins, that's fantastic!

as expected, day2 level 2 harder than day 1 as spent less time floundering trying to get each exercise right. find the abs and cardio harder than level 1 but the strength easier (tho am not getting low on squats as have had sore knees last few days and am aware from comments on this thread that it may be the dvd doing it)

Tortoise · 26/05/2010 21:46

Really don't feel like exercising tonight. Think i may have today off and get back to it tomorrow. My knees are hurting today too. Especially going up stairs!

mummytotwins · 26/05/2010 22:51

Thanks everyone

notyummy Im 5ft 4" and currently weigh 10st 4lb and am a size 12, before the shred I was a large 12 more a 14. My fitness levels are rubbish tbh, I dont do any excercise other than this dvd. Whilst my losses look fab on paper in real life they dont appear to look too different!?!? my DH took pics before and I am going to get him to take after pics too this weekend so I will see then.

I have treated myself to a day off shredding today but will get back on it again tomorrow.

Skimummy · 27/05/2010 11:37

Day 18...starting to look forward to Level 3 now!

I was feeling a bit blase about doing the Shred this morning but before I knew it I was halfway through. I am finding Level 2 manageable now although still very red and sweaty by the end.

DH has been very complimentary the last couple of days so I think I am achieving something. Mind you, he is very pro-exercise and is very pleased that I have been so consistent with it.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

KodakTheBat · 27/05/2010 11:49

Haven't been on or shedded for a few days (have also namechanged so you may not recognise me)

I was on Day 8 Level 1. Have had horrible period and a few health worries so had to have a bit of a break.

Will pick up where I left off and do Day 9 Level one this afternoon. Am a bit scared, feel really unfit again.

Weigh 9stone8lbs. I want to be below 9stone in 2 weeks, do you think it's do-able?

notyummy · 27/05/2010 11:52

mummytotwins - thanks for that. I am sure you will see a difference! Am currently a 10/12 (5 ft 10 and 10 stone 10) and fairly fit....but really keen to loose weight from bottom and thighs. I haven't been doing this everyday though, as I also do other fitness stuff so can't fit everything in. Would really like to loose a few pounds before the summer for bikini time.....but of course can't guarantee that they will come off where I would like them to! My other problem is my utter lack of will power with food.

vintage · 27/05/2010 12:49

i am giving it a rest for the first few days of my perid. I looked at level 3 as that what i am going to move onto. Good God it looks hard!!!!!
