Anyone else doing 30 day shred?

I heard lots about it and got the dvd. I'm on day 2 and can feel my muscles aching!
I'm trying to combine it with a diet too.

Is anyone else doing this/thinking of doing it?

Just done Day 6 Level 1.

chocolate it gets easier!

squid when you've finished the 30 days will you carry on doing level 3 or switch to another of Jillian's dvds?

Nolda · 23/05/2010 12:49

Hi, I'm back from hols and started shredding again yesterday and today. Went back to level 1 and I'm glad I did!

Well done trumpton and vintage!

3Happy · 23/05/2010 20:03

Evening all, hope you've all been enjoying the weather

Welcome chocolatestar, I second gettintrimmer - it does get easier (except the stupid anterior arm raises, harrumph)
squid - good to know it still works if you don't do it every day
nolda - hope you had good holidays

Missed a day yesterday, and am a bit narked with myself because there was no good reason. But managed today - so day 9. One more day until level 2, agh! Not sure how much I've improved, and definitely no weight loss so far (though the cold booze on a hot weekend doesn't help )

Skimummy · 23/05/2010 20:15

Lovely day...all the better for making me REALLY sweaty doing level 2! So Day 14 for me and I am almost half way there!

vintage · 23/05/2010 20:27

things keep cropping up to prevent me doing it .I fell off my bike yesterday bruised and battered but managed to do it last night > keen

Tortoise · 23/05/2010 20:29

I missed last nights shred. Have been terrible with snacking today.
Will shred later. Feel like i am not doing enough though. Not sure what more i can do though. Unless i do WO 1 then WO 2 or 3.

Tried on all my tops earlier. Loads have shrunk and are now too short(plus they are really old!). Not sure what i am going to do as i have no money to buy more at the moment!

Tortoise · 23/05/2010 20:30

x-posts there vintage. Ouch! Hope you aren't too battered and bruised.

vintage · 23/05/2010 20:31

tortoise can you try charity shops or car boot sales?i got a lovely dress today for £1 and re snacking have you listened o the Paul Mckenns cd? it realy helps

Tortoise · 23/05/2010 20:41

Have been keeping an eye out in local charity shops. Nothing yet.
Actually, i do have Paul Mckenna CD somewhere! May find it out and try it again.

trumpton · 23/05/2010 21:42

I have had a day off today !! But have been very active so don't really mind. Will try going back to level 2 tomorrow .

Tortoise · 23/05/2010 22:36

Day 18 (day 9 WO 2).
One more day of WO 2 tomorrow then i will look at WO 3.

chocolatestar · 24/05/2010 07:00

Ohhh I might try the Paul McKenna CD, is it expensive? I can manage quite well during the week but am awful at the weekend and I was dreadful this weekend. Chocolate, ice cream, pizza, wine the lot.

There was no way in hell I could have done it yesterday, I could hardly walk down the stairs! I am definitly using muscles that I haven't used in a long time.

I had planned to get up early and go for a little run today but I am finding it hard to get up in the morning right now so messed that up.

So impressed with those of you who are way up at level two.

justaminute · 24/05/2010 09:52

You are all doing so well. I need a kick up the bum. Life seems to have got in the way of the Shred. I only managed it twice last week.

After the jubilation of completing the 30 days I have now put back on the 2lb I lost plus another pound. Grrr. I daren't get the tape measure out it would be too depressing.

neolara · 24/05/2010 10:35

Bloody hell! Just done day one level 2. Jumping planks. What is she thinking?!!!

3Happy · 24/05/2010 10:44

vintage - hope you (and the bike) are ok!
jam - twice is better than none, I'm envious of your dedication at doing it at all after finishing the 30 days

day 10 level 1 here, so up to level 2 tomorrow [why is there no scared emoticon?]. Will be nice to have something different I suppose, it does get a little samey otherwise. Not sure I have exactly mastered level 1 yet tho

It's a bit cooler here today, thank goodness. Can't believe I'm complaining about the heat when right up until last week I was moaning about how cold this year has been!!

Joby1970 · 24/05/2010 12:46

c'mon justaminute - keep at it you can do it.. remember the inches won't stay off by themselves

Skimummy · 24/05/2010 13:49

Halfway there with Day 15. I hear you on Level 2 neolara. It's the squat thrusts that really get me. I actually don't find the strength sections too bad but the cardio is exhausting. Maybe I am just very unfit!

Have to say, again, that this is the perfect workout for me. 20 minutes and the 3-2-1 approach. And, dare I say, my clothes are feeling a bit looser...hooray!

LostGirl · 24/05/2010 14:06

Justaminute, maybe you need to set yourself a new challenge to help spark the enthusiasm again and find a new source of motivation?

Tortoise · 24/05/2010 22:36

Day 19 (day 10 WO 2)
Last day of Wo 2 tonight. Had a quick look at WO 3 and i am scared!! Will give it a go tomorrow though.
Also doing a 2 mile walk with primary school so will have walked about 6 miles in all with school run.

mummytotwins · 24/05/2010 23:23

tortoise what size are you, I am being ruthless with my wardrobe as we are moving soon, so may have some things to fit you

After I shred tonight I will have 1 day left woooohoooooooo!!! I am building up to it atm, so hot cant be bothered but havent missed a day yet and wont this close to the end x

trumpton · 25/05/2010 09:08

Last day today for mummytotwins ( that's if she did last night.) Trophy polished ready for you.

justaminute · 25/05/2010 10:16

Hopefully I am back in the zone. I managed to Shred last night and I got up early this morning to do it.

I am my own worst enemy - I miss a couple of days exercise and get out of the habit so quickly. Also the biscuit tin had magical powers last week and kept calling me. I have one, then another and then I think well.. sod it... I've blown it now I might as well finish the packet. Woops.

I'm off on holiday next week (not the stone lighter I wanted to be) but when I get back I'm going to tackle the food issues in the hope of losing the stone by my birthday in September.

GettinTrimmer · 25/05/2010 11:11

Done Day 7 Level 1. I had a look at Level 2 last night, it looks really hard.

Has anybody tried any other Jillian DVDs?

LostGirl · 25/05/2010 12:09

I've done 'No More Trouble Zones', is purely weight circuits, six of them I think so is similar format to the strength sections where you alternate between a couple of exercises. I did it with a friend when I was on holiday in the states and it was good, got the heart rate up has many of the same exercises that are in the shred and some new ones thrown in too. I think it was 40 minutes long but because of the format it would be easy to split it into 2 so you could keep doing 20 minutes a day like the shred. My friend alternates it with another of Jillian's (the title has something to do with metabolism I think) which is just cardio, lots of jumping squats etc which is the same mini circuit format and forty minutes longas well.

3Happy · 25/05/2010 16:07

Day 1 of level 2. Got to say I found the arm exercises much easier than level one. But not the rest of them..! And it'll probably get even more challenging when I'm more used to the exercises - the first few reps of each circuit was spent with me trying to work out what the heck I was supposed to be doing.
