Anyone else doing 30 day shred?

I heard lots about it and got the dvd. I'm on day 2 and can feel my muscles aching!
I'm trying to combine it with a diet too.

Is anyone else doing this/thinking of doing it?

Tonight shred done. Day 11 (day 2 of workout 2). I tried harder and sweated buckets!
I need to find a way to remember to keep abs pulled in tight all the time. I tend to forget then remember when she mentions it.

I have terribly flappy bingo wings and huge thighs which i hope will change by doing the shred.

BattyKoda · 13/05/2010 22:46

justaminute- do you mind me asking how much you weigh? I found it really easy to get from 10 and a half stone to 9 and a half, but I'm really struggling to get down more. Fingers crossed the shred will do it.

Been naughty and had a slice of DP's pizza tonight . Really do need to be stronger!!

Might get the tape measure out tomorrow, will be good to see results like that justaminute!

justaminute · 14/05/2010 07:36

BattyKoda I'm 5ft 9 and weigh 11 stone 10. When I returned to work after ds 2 years ago I was 10 and a half stone and got lots of fab comments so I'm aiming to get back there. The weight has slowly crept up on me and is being even slower to creep away.

Joby1970 · 14/05/2010 08:20

Well done Justaminute. My mum said exactly the same thing to me re being a body builder lol

twinkle183 · 14/05/2010 10:03

Morning all am off to do day nine in min!!! Am looking forward to moving on to L2, i know I said wouldn't weigh myself but couldn't resist it and was amazed to see 10st 7lbs!!!! Am really chuffed just two more stone to go and am at my goal!!!! Can't see much change in the mirror but am gonna take some pics to see if I can see the difference!

Well done to everyone else on weight loss and inch loss keep going!!!

BattyKoda · 14/05/2010 10:05

Same! I'm 5'4" and weigh 9s7lb. I started out closer to 11 stone. I'm trying to get back to my 'best' weight about 8 and a half stone). It's so easy to put it on and so hard getting it off, it's not fair!

Day 3, level 1 done this morning, and really feeling it now!

twinkle183 · 14/05/2010 10:52

Keep going battykoda! am wanting to weigh the same as you, am 5ft 2ins! I started at 11st 12lbs, I just have to keep going... Your right about trying to get it off, so easy to put on!!! Your doing well keep going...

Nolda · 14/05/2010 11:10

Well done Justaminute!

Just done day 2 of level 2. Wasn't so bad today I guess because I knew what was coming!I definitely feel I've had a proper work out: I feel generally shaky, my legs, abs and arms ache. I'm determined to keep going though until Monday when I'm going on holiday with DH (and no children) for a few days - hurrah! My weight was supposed to be off by then but never mind . Back to the shred when I get back but might have to revert to level 1 for a bit.

justaminute · 14/05/2010 11:33

Lucky you Nolda - hope you have a fab time.

Like you I mark the calendar with events when I want to have lost the weight by - never seems to happen. I'm off on hols at the end of the month barring a miracle I think I'm going to have to mark another event onto calendar - gives a good reason to book another holiday

notasize10yetbutoneday · 14/05/2010 11:36

Hi all,

I did Day 2 of Level 1 last night, and really enjoyed it! I didn't feel too bad during the work outs but really aching this morning and yesterday morning afterwards. Might have to add some more cooldown stretches I think.

I really can't to the push ups though- or atleast i think im doin them wrong? Should my arms be sort of level with my chest, or more out in front of me, towards my head? It was difficult to tell whilst trying to do them at the same time!

My God but Jillian is terrifying isn't she. I wouldn't dare not do it every day, I think she would come and find me and start shouting at me about 'promoting a false message of lethargy'! I always go faster at that point...

Piffle · 14/05/2010 11:41

not sure when I'll get to do mine today, if at all, as DS2 is off preschool today with an infected thumb (don't ask tis well gory)
And limpet like
At 17 kgs he'd certainly add to the workout mind you...
But am going on 2 hr walk over fields tonight with hubby and the dogs so do not feel bad...

justaminute · 14/05/2010 11:54

I'm giving myself a celebratory night off tonight. I'm also giving blood - don't think it would be wise to mix the two - could be messy!

Just realised that if I'm giving blood I'll be able to eat 3 custard creams afterwards - purely for medical purposes so that's OK

3Happy · 14/05/2010 12:52

Hello again. Thanks for the welcome - the DVD finally arrived! (Well actually it arrived yesterday, but due to ds1 doing a face plant onto a log in the school playground and totally mashing his nose, I didn't get started.) So I've done day 1 level 1 - I'm with what Piffle said when she started this week - my arms, they are hopeless! Struggled with the push ups and that was on my knees too. I think I'm going to be feeling it tomorrow! But I'm feeling inspired by all of you who are further on and saying how toned you are (I'm after the lass in green's abs (am rubbish with names)).
I now have to fight my natural tendencies to launch into new exercise regime and get all enthusiastic, look for results far far too quickly, get despondent when they don't happen and give up - I'm hoping posting here will make me carry on!

MiaWallace · 14/05/2010 14:01

Just completed day 7 level 1. I was only going to do alternate days because I intend to do spinning on the days in between. But I confess to being addicted to 30 ds.

I did 30 minutes spinning this morning and then was itching to do 30 ds. Think I've strained my neck doing the ab section though because it's really burning.

MiaWallace · 14/05/2010 14:03

Sorry forgot to say - hope ds is ok 3Happy, sounds painful.

LostGirl · 14/05/2010 14:41

notasize10 when you do the push ups then try to keep your arms directly under your shoulders, so level with your chest rather than further out towards your head. The further apart your arms are the easier the press ups will be as you then use your chest muscles more, the closer your hands are together the more it will work your triceps.

Twinkle, you are doing fantastically, now put those scales away for another month please

Joby1970 · 14/05/2010 15:34

regarding pushups

I do it so I'm working my chest muscles & it's lifted my boobs by at least an inch.. I can tell this as 9previously) when they were untethered if the n!pples were eyes I would have been able to see the floor - now they look straight ahead {blush]

LostGirl · 14/05/2010 18:25

Ah, now my nipples are staring directly at the floor then as do them to work my triceps. I chose to get rid of the bingo wings and buy a good bra

Tortoise · 14/05/2010 22:27

Bit late for me to shred tonight i think although i would like to do it. Trouble is it will be nearly 11pm before i finish it.
Had to go to DS2's football presentation evening tonight. I did carry DD2 age 5 home on my shoulders which hopefully did some good!!lol!

mummytotwins · 15/05/2010 11:08

Today will be day 20 for me, so last day of level 2, think level 3 may kill me!!! watched it last night to get an idea eeeeeek!!!! gonna get my DH to take my measurements again tomorrow, see if its still making a difference!

MrsMorgan · 15/05/2010 11:25

I am loving level 2

I am not doing it every day tbh, more like 3/4 times a week but the results have still been good. I think the ab exercises in level 2 are far better.

Since starting the dvd and cutting crap out of my diet I have lost 11lbs

Only problem is that non of my clothes fit and I can't afford to buy anymore lol.

Nolda · 15/05/2010 11:34

I'm hating level 2. Mummytotwins and anyone else who has completed level 2, did you find it got easier as you went on? I did day 3 today and couldn't finish the abs section of the 3rd circuit - just too much plank stuff for me.

Justaminute I have a family wedding in August so that'll be my next weightloss deadline. I mustn't weaken now and think, oh that's ages away, or I'll fail to meet it - again!

Joby That's very incentivizing re pushups and nipples, must work harder.

CatJosephine · 15/05/2010 11:49

I am loving this thread. I have never felt so motivated about exercise.

I am on day 9 of Level 1. Still finidng it hard.

I am 5'4 and 12 stone. No real exercise in 7 years.

LostGirl · 15/05/2010 13:07

Level 2 does get easier, keep at it. When I started I was so tired halfway through I couldn't even do Anita's versions of plankjacks, I had to rest my hands on the back of the sofa and do it that way! When you have to rest during the plank stuff just drop your knees and count to five then get back into it, even if it's only for another five seconds before you have to rest again. Before you know it you'll be able to get through it all. Plank stuff is hard because you are working so many muscle groups.

Congratulations on the weightloss MrsMorgan, that's fantastic.

CatJosephine, it sounds like you're doing great, it should be hard!

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper · 15/05/2010 14:06

Hi just attempted level 1!
I managed about 5 mins before giving up .

But I've got a dodgy back so didn't want to push it and risk damage ahem.

I was really impressed, though - I love the way Jillian looks like a totally normal person (with a fab bod) who knows what she's talking about, rather than a simpering sleb.

And I felt really good afterwards, so intend to build up to the full monty over the next few days.

So great to hear about individual successes.
