Anyone else doing 30 day shred?

I heard lots about it and got the dvd. I'm on day 2 and can feel my muscles aching!
I'm trying to combine it with a diet too.

Is anyone else doing this/thinking of doing it?

mummytotwins · 11/05/2010 16:02

Im half way through wooohoooo! did day 15 last night (day 5 level 2) am doing ww alongside and had my wi last night and gained a pound!!! was gutted but so know I have lost inches but still really gutted - no pleasing some people is there!!!

trumpton · 11/05/2010 17:22

Oh Mummmytotwins it's so annoying not to lose weight but be assured that the inches are going. I just want the scales to tell me that I am below 11st. I want to see 10st 13lb even !! Day 21 done ...2nd day on level 3.....come and join me.

Skimummy · 11/05/2010 18:57

Hello - can I join?! Have just done day 7 on level 1 and am loving it. It doesn't seem to be getting any easier though and cannot imagine how I am going to go up to level 2. I have a weekend away this week as well...although my DH thinks I should put the workout on our laptop and do it in the hotel every morning!! We'll see...

Very inspiring to read about the inch and weight losses. I am already wondering what I am going to do when I have finished 30 days.

Love Jillian - although not when she says "a couple more" and there is more than two more reps to go. My favourite bit is during the last abs session when she says something along the lines of "that pain you feel is fear leaving your body." What??

Enjoy all!

My copy arrived today while I was out! < trembles >

Knee exercise for Nolda:
Facing the stairs, stand on the edge of the bottom stair so your heels are sort of hanging over the edge.
Keeping legs straight, go on tiptoe and then lower your heels down again so that you feel the stretch in your calves.
Repeat ten times, then do ten more on each individual leg (I could only do five yesterday) - I usually stop when my knees start to buckle!

Hope this makes sense.

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper · 11/05/2010 19:48

Forgot to say: I've noticed the weirdest thing - I've been slowly losing weight (11/2st over the last 18 months or so).

I now only have about 1/2st left to lose, although I appreciate if I tone up the weight won't matter - but I now have the most hideous, pronounced muffin top.

Never had this in my life before - well, not this extreme anyway - it's as if the excess flab that's left has banded together in a wobbly mid-riff tyre.

It's motivational, anyway.

vnmum · 11/05/2010 19:52

just done day 6 level 1 and i have to say i did feel it was a bit easier, even the side lunges with arm raises that normally kill me. i could even get quite low on the press ups so think i might be brave enough to try full press ups in a few more days!

I just wish i wouldnt sabotage myself by eating crap but all i seem to want is sweet stodgy things and fruit and yoghurt just doesnt compare. might have to get the weight loss hypnosis cd out again to program my brain to eat healthy.

day 7 tomorrow, then only 3 more days till level 2

Nolda · 11/05/2010 20:02

Thanks OurLady and sorry for being dense. I'll give it a go. Good luck with your first shred!

I did day 9 of level 1 today but tried it with 1.5kg weights (I had been using 1kg). I found it hard work, my upper body is pretty feeble.

CatJosephine · 11/05/2010 21:29

Day 5 Level 1 today. I cannot believe that I have exercised for 5 days in a row.

Today was the first time that I did not stop during the 3 mins of cardio so I can feel some improvement.

I am only following Anita and I think my weights may be too light -0.68kg; should I move up to the 1.13kg ones?

Piffle · 11/05/2010 21:38

I'm using .68 kg ones too
they'll do for now lol
all recovered now from post exercise gynae pain
I have had 2 stomach surgeries ( ectopic and appendix when pregnant with no 3)
wondered about that causing the pain...

Tortoise · 11/05/2010 21:58

Failed to shred 2 days in a row.
Wondering if i should move onto workout 2 as am a bit bored with workout 1!

simmo39 · 11/05/2010 22:07

Be careful Piffle, sounds like you have had a tough time!
Catjosephine - I also did day 5 level 1 today. The side lunges with arm raises are killing me. DH dugg my hand weights out of the shed for me, but I am not sure if the number 2 on them is for 2 lb or 2 kilos! Shows how long since I last used them. Must weigh them tomorrow to find out as I am really stuggling with the strength sections.

CatJosephine · 11/05/2010 22:48

I'm ok with the side lunges but sometimes get a bit uncoordinated.

My DC watch me and pass comment.

simmo39 · 11/05/2010 22:57

DC can be so cruel, mine DS just laughs at me then tries to join in, I nearly wacked him on the head with my hand weight (by accident!) then he had a paddy because he wanted to play with the weights! Have decided probably better if I do it when he is not about

CatJosephine · 11/05/2010 23:03

I agree. I did bump DD on the head whilst doing a jumping jack.

Generally they have been supportive though.

mummytotwins · 11/05/2010 23:38

Day 16 (day 6 level 2) done! it feels like it is getting a little easier, am looking forward to level 3 in a strange way, not really liking level 2 - too much plank work!!!!

I do mine when no one is around, m 2, two year olds would probably sit on my back when Im doing plank moves otherwise and I cant bear to do it infront of my DH, luckily he works a lot of night shifts!!!

Well done everyone doing it, its hard work but I bet we all feel better for doing it!

tortoise I think if you are bored try the next level, I think you could just switch between the 3 levels as and when you wanted x

notasize10yetbutoneday · 12/05/2010 08:03

Hi All, hope you don't mind if I jump in?

My DVD came last night so tonight is the night! Does anyone have any tips for a first-time shredder? I do taebo and ran a 10k race two weeks ago so I'm kidding myself it won't be that hard...will it?!

LostGirl · 12/05/2010 08:08

I was doing Tae Bo before I switched to this and I still found it a good challenge. I think your body gets used to doing certain exercises and routines so changing to a different type of workout creates new challenges. Hope you enjoy it.

LostGirl · 12/05/2010 08:09

Tortoise, definitely move on if you are bored.

notasize10yetbutoneday · 12/05/2010 08:34

I'm really looking forward to the challenge, hope i can keep it up for 30 days as im being a bridesmaid in 4 weeks!

Squidmission · 12/05/2010 09:44

Have just done day 10 of level 2!
I'm going to have my first session on level 3 tomorrow. I also need to step up the diet.

After 20 days, I look so much better. I've lost about 5lbs (but I've been on and off with the diet! wish I'd stuck to it) and my muffin top is slowly disappearing. I definitely have a waist now too!
Still a way to go though. I'm determined to see more improvements before I finish level 3.

fustyarse · 12/05/2010 09:50

this thread is going so strong! I think the dvd actually had magical powers

I appear to have lost 3 lbs since starting it 9 days ago - have done it 6 times (i think)

am following ww points fairly srictly so finally something seems to be working

and i've had a ''ooh, you look like you've lost weight'' comment

deffo feel like i'm becoming narrower'

still a long way to go - but thanks for starting this thread squidmission, I never would have bought it if I hadn't seen this!

off to do it again....!

trumpton · 12/05/2010 09:51

Oh squidmission I was hoping you would join me on level 3 . Is anyone else out there on level 3 ? Just done day 3 and am glowing like a pig. off for shower now.( on day 22 overall without missing a day < smug>)
Holiday in 17 days.

Piffle · 12/05/2010 10:36

I did it after dropping the kids off at school/preschool today, before breakfast

I found it much easier today, certainly the push ups I could do and am only on day 3 level 1
Still finding the whole level a challenge though, I will now when I'm ready to move up and reckon it'll be 10 days at least!
I'm more after toning up than dropping weight as at 5ft 6 and bang on 10stone but if were to lose some well it would be good I guess. I really want rid of my belly fat...
Have ditched the beer and eating carefully so will see what transpires

My surgeries were in 2004 and 2006 so the actual real reason to my fat tunny is beer and idleness

Keep at it everyone!

BattyKoda · 12/05/2010 10:50

Hello

After advice and stalking from some of you lovely ladies on this thread, I bought the DVD and it arrived today.

I am getting married in just under 2 months and need to be in shape. I have left it, as with everything else in my life, till the last minute, so have to be extra strict with my excercise and diet!

I'm starting today. I have no weights though...
