Anyone else doing 30 day shred?

I heard lots about it and got the dvd. I'm on day 2 and can feel my muscles aching!
I'm trying to combine it with a diet too.

Is anyone else doing this/thinking of doing it?

Just logged on for a bit of motivation before i start DH has taken to DD to dance class and then off to mums for a cup of tea so Ihave about an hour to do the shred and then make myself look beautiful for the day ahead [chokes] i cant decide what to do this afternoon - shopping in Primark or a wander down this Albert Rd which is full of secondhand wonderful shops anyway enough blahing from me think i may be putting it off.

BTW does anyone eat or drink anything before they do the shred first thing if so what??

twinkle183 · 01/05/2010 09:43

omydarlin I only take in water before shredding... just to hydrate!!!

Thanks squidmission well done on the shred this morning am yet to do mine.. but have the kiddies all day so it will be an evening one I think!!!

omydarlin · 01/05/2010 10:34

Day 3 level one done (had 3 days off woops) im not sure I will get all levels done in 10 days to be honest think I will just keep going with level one until i'm at Anita level with heavier weights ..im so heavy and my weights are only 1kg at moment. Good news is I don't feel as tired as I did last Sunday when i finished. I really enjoy the punching bits!!

Bad news is I STINK so i'm of for a shower!

well done fellow shreddies!!

trumpton · 01/05/2010 20:37

Day 3 of level 2 just done. On a fullish stomach ...feel a bit queezy. Hmm note to self ...moussaka and jumping around not a good idea. Really did not want to do today but am keeping a notebook and didn't want a blank page looking at me reproachfully.
Clothes feel better, bra not digging in at end of day.
Going to keep this going. Might put weights up a notch tomorrow to 2.5 kg.

twinkle183 · 01/05/2010 22:20

trumpton your not the only one who has felt queezy... even though I ate my dinner at 5 and have just shredded, another level 2 done!! Think I ate too much...

Am really enjoying this DVD and all her little saying, I never get bored of them. Right off to bed!!

mummytotwins · 02/05/2010 00:26

Day 6 of level 1 done, feels like its definatley getting easier (still all sweaty though!!) going to take my measurements again tomorrow so will see how I got on after 7 days shredding

cyteen · 02/05/2010 08:55

Twanged my knee a bit during yesterday's shred...bloody side lunges.

justaminute · 02/05/2010 09:14

I gave myself two days off - was pschying myself up for Level 3. Well, I've just done day 1 of level 3 - does Jillian think I've turned into a frog? Jump...jump...jump...

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper · 02/05/2010 09:18

Hi all - I'm intrigued by this thread.
I've been slowly losing weight (11/2 st over the last couple of years) and still have half a stone to go, which I'm fairly confident will happen in the next couple of months as I've now joined a gym which seems to have kick-started things again.

Problem I have now is, I've realised to my horror I now have a pancake bum, to the extent that I won't wear jeans or trousers without something long covering the offending arse.

I'm not convinced my gym work will improve this any time soon (my programme is quite gentle as I have scoliosis).

So, can someone tell me that this shred thingie will do the trick here? Sorry if this has been covered before - I've read some of the thread, honestly, and been inspired, but my bedroom is calling to me to tidy it up, which won't happen if I sit here reading 15 pages!

CelticBanshee · 02/05/2010 09:56

Can I join in please?

I've ordered the 30 day shred and should get it this week some time, lookin' forward to startin' it!

Anybody got good results so far????

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper - meet your arse twin! Have been doing bum exercises for the past month or so and have seen an improvement, still a long way to go but tis in the right direction! From reading about this DVD it has loads of squats and lunges which is great for the derrier!

You should also google bum exercises and work out a daily routine to help, that's what I'm doing!

MrsMorgan · 02/05/2010 09:59

Can I just ask, is level two much harder than 1 ??? I am just about managing one ok, but I am getting a bit bored of it now.

Tortoise · 02/05/2010 11:06

Hi all. Have been naughty and not shreded for about 3 days. BUT i have just done workout 2. OMG it is hard! Think i will go back to 1 for a while. Wasn't actually ready for 2 but wanted to see what it is like.

Didn't help having the dog licking my face or getting excited at me jumping around!

Think i sweated more but don't feel as achy as workout 1. Probably because i just couldn't get the hang of the moves properly.

omydarlin · 02/05/2010 11:58

Keep going Tortoise im sure it will get easier can you give your dog a chewy thing just as you start so he is occupied??

Hello guys just wanted to check in although haven't done anything yet today - i think im getting addicted - only done it 3 times so far and have been scrutinising my body and can definitely see a bit more definition under the flab - also it occurred to me yesterday how brighter i felt after i did the DVD which for me can only be a good thing - I suffer terribly from low mood - but i can feel my self esteem getting better day by day. I have lost a lot of weight before by eating better and doing more cardio (starting of with walking etc) but ive never done weight training before and i think thats what was missing because i felt never felt happy with my body completely. I really like the way it makes me feel - weird huh!!I just wanted to put a bit of positive on here as reading back my last threads seemed a bit negative now.

My mission is to get a lovely fitted dress for my friends party in November we have a Karen Millen discount shop near us and everytime i walk past it i gaze longingly in the window but I cant bring myself to walk in there at my size - but pay day October I hope to be straight in there!
Keep on going Shreddies !

DD is excited as she is doing it with me today minus weights and crunches of course as she is only 6.

Tortoise · 02/05/2010 12:04

That's a good idea. He seemed more excited today probably because of all the jumping around! DD1 tried to do a bit with me but small room so she just got in my way!

Nolda · 02/05/2010 12:22

Hello, please may I join? Just completed day 1 of level 1 (with very small weights). I was a little apprehensive before I started that it would be too much for me as I'm old and overweight but relieved to say that I managed to finish it (following the easier moves some of the time). I'll be upping the weights tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it - mad? yup!

trixymalixy · 02/05/2010 12:29

Can i join too? i started day 1 of the shred yesterday and have just completed day 2 and i can definitely feel it's doing something. The arm stuff is the worst especially the push ups my arms are sooo weak!!

Nolda · 02/05/2010 12:32

Oh yes, the push ups are definitely the hardest bit for me, even though I'm doing the easier version.

marmalade32 · 02/05/2010 14:03

M getting a bit nervous about Level 2, from what people are saying on here. Am now on Day 8 of 1 so will be starting Level 2 on Tuesday. However, had a bit of a wake up call last night. Did Shred in a top but just knicks and socks and trainers as leggings still wet. You think its bad seeing your tummy wobble - try seeing your thighs and bum too !

omydarlin · 02/05/2010 15:15

marmalade32 try seeing and hearing THE WOBBLING i got a shock today as i was checking my form in front of the mirror DD kept on telling me I was "doing it wrong" after it had all finished she said "now lets get ready for level 2".

welcome Nolda, trixymalixy, celticbanshee and OurLadyofPerpetualSupper to the cult !

Oh BTw ive only done it 3 times this week and lost an inch of my waist

LostGirl · 02/05/2010 15:40

Hi to all newcomers

MrsMorgan, level 2 is a bit more demanding on your core and your arms, but if you are getting bored then definitely give it a go and when it gets too much just take a five second break and then get back into it, even if it's only another five seconds before you take another break!

twinkle183 · 02/05/2010 15:53

Hi girlies.. went back to L2 yesterday and loved it... really feeling it in my arms but thinking i may alternate L2 and L3 for difference... I find them just as hard as each other...

I fell off the wagon with food today to be told that one of my closest friends is getting married in September... (short engagement) but I think I have enough time to get it all off.. want to look fab in the pics...

Am not bothered about the weight anymore.. after I got told off for weighing I just want to be happy with the way that I look in the mirror....

Welcome to all the newcomers... am tackling L3 later....!!!

LostGirl · 02/05/2010 16:15

Sorry for the telling off Twinkle , just don't want you to get discouraged if the scales jump a few pounds the other way one day, our weight fluctuates so much on a daily basis due to fluid retention, time of the month etc. You are doing brilliantly!

LostGirl · 02/05/2010 16:16

Oh, meant to say I did the same as you and alternated L2 and L3 as felt L3 was harder cardio wise but L2 really worked arms and abs.

twinkle183 · 02/05/2010 16:26

Thanks lostgirl i really did need the telling off to be honest.. your are right, I should be concentrating on how i feel and if I am happy with what I see in the mirror and at the moment I am not...

I am glad that I am only the only one considering alternating L2 & L3...!!! I love the way you motivate me... but nothing motivates you more than a wedding...

I love wedding but even more... looking good at them instead.. Really would like to be in the pics rather than behind the camera! I want to be proud rather than ashamed...

notyummy · 02/05/2010 16:55

DH doing level 3 downstairs in the family room! Will do down soon and see if he is pink. He has done a 10 minute run to warm up and will go on the cross trainer afterwards to ensure enough cardio. No Shred for me today (tomorrow though!) 7 mile run this morning so feeling fit.

Good luck all
