Thought I would start the new thread........ Attended class last night and managed to lose 3.5lbs, my friend lost the same - can't believe that we werre half a stone lighter!

My total weight loss in two weeks is 4.5lbs. I feel so pleased with myself only about 28 more pounds to go.

mmmmm should I reward myself with a chocci biscuit?? or should I stick with the ww fruitie sweets???????????

Good going fifiala. Also had my weigh-in yesterday and I've lost 3.5lbs. Total of 11lbs in 4 weeks, bit worried its coming off to fast.

fifilala · 21/07/2005 11:16

well done brighteyes - I hope I can get off as much as you as my first goal is a stone by second week in september for my hols, although this is causing concern for buying holiday clothes as if I wait too long the winter stuff will be in the shops!!!!

Brighteyes · 21/07/2005 11:22

I know what you mean fiflala. I'm going to Italy on the 7th Sept. but hoping I would have gone done a clothes size or two by then. Hopefully if I leave it a while I'll be able to get some clothes in the sales when they start clearing the summer stock

Bother Bother Bother

Have broken my toe and can barely walk and due at ww meeting in hour can't go can't excercise. humph

Brighteyes · 21/07/2005 12:15

oh ark poor you, how did you manage that?. Hope you're not in too much pain.

ark · 21/07/2005 12:21

well I kicked a table leg accidently I should add! DP was like oh don't be ridiculous you haven't broken it and then he had a look at the toe at right angles and was like - hummmm yes y ou have! poor bloke looked like he was going to vom! Have made it to work although some ejit stood on foot on bus! Ouch

won't lie it absolutely kills! am cheerful though!

tomkitty · 21/07/2005 19:51

Gosh ark, you are in good spirits considering. Good for you.

Dior, I sympathise with you re the special pressures you are under. Your bad week was just a blip, you know. Look how well you have done overall.

I completed my third week at WW yesterday. I appear to be all over the place. Week one I lost 4 lbs. The 2nd week I gained 1.5 lbs. The third week I lost 3.5 lbs. So, 6 lbs lost and 12 lbs to go.

I don't actually feel like I did anything different week two than in weeks one and three. The biggest difference was the high I got from losing and the depressed feeling when I gained.
Is it normal to fluctuate like this? I am still bf my 12 month old and not having normal periods so it wasn't the monthly cycle.

fee77 · 22/07/2005 08:27

Oh poor you ark - it is soo painful isn't it, i broke my little toe once.
Weigh in is in 1 hour, and it is all going pete tong! Usually i get up have breakfast and a small cup of juice, then go to be weighed, but dd decided to get up at 6 so have had 1 pt of orange squash, and 2 cups of tea. i am hoping i can wee it all out in the next hour!
I am off to devon for 2 weeks,me dh and dd. It will just be so nice to get away for a bit, but i am going to try to control what i eat, theni wont feel so bad about the drinking!
Brighteyes, ilost a load to start with, then it all slowed down, and evened out.
Fingers crossed!

fee77 · 22/07/2005 10:39

Ok, i am back, and i have stayed the same, which is good considering what i ate last week! I must stop weighing myself at home - i weigh myself every day now, and am becoming obsessed. And my leader has left! Not sure why, but we have a new one, who looks a lot friendlier!
And dd has gone to bed! Yippee she was really doing my head in, thank god we haven't got anything nice in the house - this would normally be a binge moment for me!

It sounds like you are just under a lot of stress right now Dior. Try to draw a line under today and get a good night's sleep. I don't think you should worry too much about the clear conscience thing. We all go through periods in our jobs where we need to perform on autopilot. Anyway, I don't expect perfection from my leader so they probably aren't scrutinising you that way either.

eidsvold · 23/07/2005 12:26

I am still plugging away at it... put on a bit of weight when I went away and it has taken me a while to shift it.... add that to weaning bf babe and I have had to work out points that work for me rather than their blanket 30 points.

Found when I was just weighing and going - which I had to do for a while... my weight really did not shift.. now I have changed meetings - love my new leader who is a realist... tells us what she struggled/struggles with and how she did it. Dior - you are fab... it is this little hiccups that help you identify with people when they have their little hiccups and reminds them you are real - just like them and look where you are now!!!Don't be harsh on yourself.

linnywith2 · 23/07/2005 12:38

hi everyone..
Dior.. chin up babe, you're doing great and the fact that you have good days and bad days only proves your human like the rest of us and imo that makes you a brilliant ww leader.. you'll get back on track, you always do hon so dont beat yourself up over it eh!

ark.. you poor thing! ouch! sounds very painful..

well done fifilala, bright eyes on your loss.
brighteyes it will slow down after a few weeks it's great tho to get a good start like that!

as for me.. i've done it!!!! i've reached my goal weight!!!!! whhoooohoooo! never thought id do it and i have!

stats: height: 5'4.. start weight 12-5.. current weight 10-4!!!! dress size before 14-16 now 10-12
am so so thrilled, sorry if im gloating a bit but i need to.. its taken me 5 attempts over the last 9 years to lose this weight and i always give up after the first stone but this time i stuck with it and its paid off....
i would like to lose another 11 lbs to get to 9-7 eventually but for the moment i want to enjoy the feeling of success at last!
again sorry for gloating but im just so darn happy

Fantastic linny, you should gloat, you deserve to, and we will all have our day one day!
Dior, you are having such a rough time at the mo, please don't beat yourself up about it. I think one of the best things about ww is the leaders have been there, and done it, and know what a struggle it is. Maybe you could use your weight gain in a meeting, as people always need reminding that you need to keep going. And anyway, it is only 2lb - how much weight have you lost altogether? You could lose that easily over the next couple of weeks.
And i wish you were my leader! You seem so down to earth and honest, and i bet you are absolutely gorgeous - and a size 6!!!!!

hmm....im back, with my tail between my legs....can i join in again?
lasted on slimming world for 3 weeks and actaully lost 11lbs - but then i went away for a few dys and for the past few months have not even been following any sort of diet/healthy eating whatsoever.
decided to come back to what i know best. also made the decision NOT to weigh myself until my clothes start to feel looser. this is because i am too scred to find out how much weight i put back on in my few months of pigging out.

can anyone answer a question about melon? when the points are listed by weight in book, does that include the skin of the melon? ie when it says a medium slice of honeydew (250g) is 1 point, is that the melon in the skin or after you cut it etc?

i am going on holiday in 5 weeks, and the day before i go am going to a school friends wedding. havent seen anyone from school since i left (weighing 7stone) so i really want to make a difference - not long enough i know!
do you think its possible for me to lose reasonable amount of weight in this time, at the same time as attending 2 hen nights where i wont stick to diet those days (no point as i always fail i would rather not deny myself or i end up miserable and wanting to go home and ruin other peoples nights so have come to accept that if i deny myself something i really wnat every now and again its pointless)

thanks! sorry long post!

Hi, in answer to the melon question, its without skin... i checked on the scales ( yes i am that sad!) I started WW 5 weeks ago, have lost 11 1/2pounds so far, but know that tomorrows weigh in will be disaster! Have discovered alcohol again yippee!! It is hard but the way i get around the craving rubbish, and lets face it the better tasting food, is after weigh in eat what the hell you like all day and then start the next day back on the plan. It just makes me feel like i'm not missing out and that when i feel like not sticking to the plan i can tell myself its only til Tuesday about 11ish then i can have what i want. It doesn't always work but it helps! I don't think this even makes sense and sorry its so long.

marthamoo · 25/07/2005 21:39

Haven't read the whole thread but wanted to say - Dior, I'd be much happier to have you as a Leader, when you admit that you don't always stick to it, and you find it hard, and you go up as well as down than some holier than thou "I've been a WeightWatchers Gold member for 18 years and never gone an ounce over my goal weight." Honestly, I'm sure your members will love the fact that you're human and can empathise when they have a bad week (or six).

FWIW, I'm still pants but have managed to get from 10 stone 5, down to 9,13 (and that's without going to meetings because I can't face the humiliation of having to pay 'cos I'm over my goal weight). Bad news is, we're off to the inlaws next week and I put on about a pound a day while we're there!

marthamoo · 25/07/2005 21:39

And damnit, melon isn't listed in my guidebook so I was assuming it was free. Grrrrrrr.

hey dior, thanks for the support! we will have to keep each ohter in line! been good today, and got my food for tomorrow all planned out so hopefully no slip ups there!

thanks pjsmum - i feel better now as i was just assuming (in hope!) it was without skin, and then worrying i was eating too much points!!

PeachyClair · 26/07/2005 22:03

Hi guys.

I'm gonna need some support too please...

did alright this week 1.5 pounds, though not what I'd like as I am a bit silly competitive at times (though with myself more than others), but this week I have a huge family party coming up. It is also DS3's secong birthday tomorrow, so I am going to be seriously tempted!

luckily MIL threw the cake in the bin (long story!), so i will get to buy another tomorrow- might try and get one I don't like? Would that work or will I eat it anyway? Someone also suggested diluting each glass of wine 50/50 with diet lemonade at teh barbecue. But if it rains i'll be in the pub, what mixers are Ok-ish? With diet coke? County pub, won't do a huge range of mixers I suspect.

Dior- i'm with the others, I'd rather have a 'human' leader- mine today was showing us how tight her trousers had got, and it seemed much friendlier and more groupy than lecturey, IFKWIM.

linnywith2 · 26/07/2005 22:12

oh help.. im binge eating as i type.. dunno what the hell is wrong with me but i cant stop eatin this evening,i seem to have lost complete control of myself
