Numberfour · 06/03/2010 09:43

morning! i'm glad you're back, letsdoit! and wow..... what an amazing loss you had previously. i take my hat off to you.

a friend of mine who did LL recently said that once the weight starts coming off, i should be aware of snide comments from some people who are jealous or not understanding etc. makes me shake my head in wonder that some people would be like that. she did not elaborate and i don't know what was said, but even so, that's Just Not Nice.

I had to ask a very dear friend not to come over on Sunday because if he did we would be eating and drinking all day long. he is young and slender (and no, I am married! but he is like a younger brother to me!) but we love love love our wine and could smash two bottles together without batting an eye lid. so best he stays away for a while. counseller said i would feel sick as a dog if i did that.

taking DS (5yrs 4m) to the cinema today to take up a few hours! no popcorn and coke for me.

Day 4:
Start - 14st7
Current - 13st13 MUST BE A TYP0!!!!!!!!!
Size 20 but not too tight

Numberfour · 06/03/2010 09:44

about my numbers above: i think i will stick to weigh in figures rather, will be more realistic for me to use the same scale at the same time of the week, etc. i cannot feel that i have lost 8lb

kurves · 06/03/2010 15:22

hello guys after trying many diets i picked up the ok mag and saw this diet in it i started today but i do not feel that i have what it takes to do dole source and i go to the gym allot. So i am on the 1000 cals a day where i have a shake or porridge for breakfast with fruit a shake or bar for lunch and some fruit or salad and a normal dinner with lean protien some veg and carbs my dinner cannot be more than 500cals .

I hope it works what i find really nice is the water flavour i can drink it by the bucket loads.

My weight is 13 stones never mind that i and due on so really bloated and feeling heavy. i want to get to 10 stones 6lbs i hope that i have a really good weight loss as you guys seem to be doing really well.

Numberfour · 06/03/2010 15:27

hi, minniemoo2 and kurves. i am one of those people who start a diet every Monday and have broken it by lunchtime!

what i like about this one is that there is no confusion on SS what you can and what you cannot have,

I tried SS for 2 days but on the 3rd went on the SS+ because it was so hard. i think i will manage better on SS+ but i don't exercise much at all.

Kurves, i am sure that your counsellor will guide you to the right step to be on!

i am finding this afternoon a little hard because i am irritable and the house is a tip! best i move on to the Good Housekeeping forum

kurves · 06/03/2010 15:39

No stay here my house is a tip and i want to sleep the little ones have gone out for the day and yes like you i start a diet every Monday to end on Monday eve ling but i am so determined this time i have started today on sole source plus as i can eat real food as well and i think that if i eat 1000 cals a day i must lose weight even if it is just 2lbs a week. may be as time goes on i will be able to do sole source but i will have to see as i refuse to stop the gym as it keeps me going and i want to be firm and not flabby.

kurves · 06/03/2010 15:42

I must say that my council er is a fantastic woman and i know she will keep me on the right track what is good is that she has done the diet also. I have not told any one as i decided to keep it to my self for now and see what happens we all know how judgemental people can be.

Numberfour · 06/03/2010 16:12

kurves, i have told only a handful of people and i want to keep it that way! i live in a biggish town but on a fairly close knit area and i always see someone i know when i go out shopping or to the post office etc. what i HATE is seeing people from WW or SW classes and i am fatter now than i was when i joined

Numberfour · 06/03/2010 18:16

today, aside from my usual eating, I have avoided:

maltesers and popcorn at the cinema

my lovely bolognese sauce with pasta

melted chocolate for DS's pudding (shreddies dipped in melted chocolate to have with ice cream - he saw the ad on the cereal box)

cornflake choc mix to use up last of choc

leftover from DS's pudding he asked for

DH's Pringles

wine

kurves · 06/03/2010 20:00

well i like the fact that i can have a normal well balanced meal today is my first day and i am so tired of being fat and it seems that i am getting fatter never in my life have i been thirteen stones even when pregnant its so depressing this is my last and final attempt as i am confident that i will do it.

A friend of mine is on diet pills but the side effects are not good and as soon as you stop taking them you put the weight back on .

tomorrow i will be having the porridge for breakfast and some fruit for a snack and a shake for lunch with some fruit and i have 500 cals for dinner with veg . I will be weighing on Saturday so i will post on here my weight lose. Its funny from what i read that people that are on the sole source can loose u to 9lbs in one week i wish that could happen i would be over the moon as it is the firs week i am hoping to be 12 10 that would be good for me.

5inthebed · 06/03/2010 21:02

Welcome Kurves. If 1000cals is the diet you can do, then do it.

I've also been to the pictures with my DS1, went to see Alice in Wonderland, he had sweets and popcorn, I had a bottle of water. It was a good film. Took him to KFC before as well, and was really good, have my choc shake and a bottle of water

I've had some chicken tikka pieces from the local indian takeaway as well. It was absolutely delicious. They don't cook it in oil so it is safe to eat on SS+, although won't make a habit of it.

Numbefour, my first weekend was hard as well, keep going, won't be long until your weigh in. 8lbs so far is excellent!

letsdoittogether · 06/03/2010 23:40

Hi...was just popping in before bed but I see you are all tucked up already! Good day today.Took youngest out with a friend and avoided all the treats I could have had but instead drank diet coke and black coffee!
Diet coke last year never ever stopped my weight loss so I have one whenever I like. From a scientific calories in and expenditure out I figure it can do no harm though I know it can make some feel hungry so I think it is a case of try it and see. This is a diet that I think you have to make your own and do whatever you have to to basically stick to it. We are here because we are fairly desperate to do something quickly but we must look long term too.
Last year I went to the gym 5x week but since outgrowing my gym stuff, I haven't been. My aim is to go the minute I fit back in but till then, I have a mini trampoline and am doing 30 mins on that twice daily and will go on to do some exercise DVD next week when the household are all either asleep or out!
Night Night all! [yawn]

Hi guys i did it my first day i did it i feel so good .Last night i was tempted to have 2 slices of toast with butter , i even put the toast in the toaster but opted to have a low calorie hot choc instead as this is only 35 cals per cup i put it at 60 as i add a splash of milk.

I am going to the gym this morning i hope to catch the spinn class but if i do not catch it i will go to the dance class at 10 45 .
the reason that i did not do sole source is that my counciler said that if i work out and eat too few calories then my body will go into starvation mode and then i will not lose the weight as effectively so this will work. I will be going to marks and spencers to get some fruit salads to have with my meal and some veg .tonight it will be m&s spagettitti and meat balls with veg and fruit salad for desert.

i mean last week i was at the gym 5 times and because i was eating junk i put on weight so i guess i will see on Saturday. I will be doing a day three weigh in on tuesday to see how i get on as that will be three full days and i will put it on here.

Numberfour · 07/03/2010 09:22

morning! what a gorgeous day it is here! Day 5 for me and so far so good.... though i must admit i feel better in the mornings than i do late afternoon, it seems. And i drink so much wine usually that it is lovely to wake up fresh.

DS says that my breath stinks in the morning. YAHOO!! hopefully ketosis is setting in.

i must talk to my counsellor about exercise. i went for a short walk day before yesterday, but i have never eaten so little before so i have no idea if i could manage a good brisk walk anywhere!! (cannot afford gym and no space for much exercising my my house )

hope you all do well today. Lets, i am still reeling about how well you've done!

5inthebed · 07/03/2010 11:10

Morning everyone.

Speaking of excercise, I am going to book myself in at the local beauticians for one of those vibrating plates. 20minutes on one equates to an hour aerobics (apparently).

Don't think I'll have a good loss this week, as AF arrived this morning without warning. Usually the case for me though as I only have 3-4 a year anyway. First one this year. Feell all bloated and icky, but not as ravanous as I usually feel on my first day.

Making lasagne for the family later, won't bother me at all a I've been managing to cook all their meals fine. How does everyone else manage to cook for their family?

kurves · 07/03/2010 11:52

i do ok as i am not on sole source for some reason i am feeling really hungry now going to do something top keep busy .Hey is it normal to pee so much i have been peeing alot last night was bad but today not that bad .

can any one tell me how often do you have the water flavors a day as i find it impossible to drink with out it now its so nice oh and the butterscotch shake is so nice.

5inthebed · 07/03/2010 12:26

Its normal to pee so much. Look at it as peeing yourself thin

I think its only once a day that you can have the flavours, but not completely sure. I'm not on them yet as only week 2.

kurves · 07/03/2010 14:25

i started on the sole source plus which is quite flexible. I feel so fidgety and so hungry now i want to save a shake until a hour or so before bed so that i do not wake up hungry.

Numberfour · 07/03/2010 18:08

5inthebed, you asked about cooking for the family: i wondered how everyone who cooks was doing too!! I also cook lunch most days because i am a childminder. i love cooking so i am happy still to go ahead with it, though i felt a bit grim on day 3 so asked DH to get himself and DS some takeaways (Chinese - i don't like it anyway, so no loss for me!)

so far (day 5 now) I have not had any difficulty. i think i will struggle after my first weigh in.

kurves · 08/03/2010 07:23

I do not think that you will struggle after your first weigh in number four i think it will do the opposite and make you want to go on more.

today is day 3 for me and i must admit that yesterday was tough and i am not even on the sole source but i did it . to day i am going to the gym and i will save my water flavour until this evening for dinner as i love it .

I must admit though that i went on the scales and it said that i was 12.8.8 i find that hard to believe as it is only day 2 and i am not even on sole source but i hope this works out all i know is that i really want to do this .

i hope that every one else has a good day today and it all goes well just think girls buy the summer we would all have achieved our goals this summer i refuse to be fat i just want back my self esteem.

Numberfour · 08/03/2010 11:56

morning, all.

well done on sticking to it, kurves!

LOL at 5's comment about peeing yourself thin!

I am not hungry today YAHOOOO!!! but feel i should have my porridge because i do feel a little spacey, if you know what i mean.

the scales say quite a lot has dropped off, but i will believe my counsellor's scales. not mine.

early bed for me tonight (yes, i am thinking of bed already!) because i am pooped.

how is everyone doing today?

kurves · 08/03/2010 12:44

Hi i am not at home now but i did go to the gym this morning and feel great i have got a fruit salad in the car just in case i get hungry. I did check the scales at the gym and it said that i have gone under 12 7 but its only day 3 and as you said numberfour i will believe the councilers scales and not mine as my scales give me loads of diffrent readings.

i do believe that this thead is keeping me going as i have not told any one although i am tempted to tell my friend but she told me that i could never do it and that i should take diet pills .
i find this such a sensidle way of eating no junk just my shakes and bars lean protiuen fruit and veg.

i do feel like i am peeing myself thin though
last night i was so hungry that is why i got some eggs that in the mornings before the work pout i can have some carbs and some protien so that i do have some energy.

Its my sons birthday next saturday so i will try to risist the cake as we are ging out for dinner i have to be so careful.

Numberfour · 08/03/2010 13:14

hi, kurves, i also do not want to tell people because i fail time and again. i think i have told 4 friends - one because i gave her a bottle of wine i had in the fridge in case i drank it! two or have done this or LL before and another who wanted to come over for lunch yesterday, so i told him no!!

i can feel a difference in my pj bottoms and today's trouser! yahoo!!

5inthebed · 08/03/2010 13:33

Great stuff Nunberfour. My clothes feel so much spacier. Jeans I bought 4 weeks ago were slightly tight around my waist can now be pulled down without me undoing the button or zip

DH isn't too impressed as I'll be needing a new wardrobe shortly

I have only told my close family as I don't want any negative comments. My mam, for once in her life, is being really supportive.

Hope everyone has a good day

kurves · 08/03/2010 17:33

well i got through today and i feel ok but i havwe really bad period pains now so i will have to push through.
