A stone by Easter challenge!

Well half term is over, back to school tomorrow and Spring is in the air...time to get rid of the winter flab methinks!

I weigh 11 stone and want to be 10 by Easter (and ultimately around the 9 stone 7-10 mark) - six weeks to do 14lbs doable I think?

My reward will be lovely shopping for summer clothes.

My plan is to do HM smoothie or cereal breakfast, Soup or salad lunch and "normal" healthyish dinner (but watch the portion size on carbs. I will be trying to drink lots of water and less coffee/alcohol and exercising 3 x per week (prob be running but am considering joining a gym!!)

So anyone who fancies joining me feel free

Today: Strawb and yog smoothie/prawn salad/shepherds pie and brocolli. Might run later if it ever stops RAINING!!

Chicken pilaf was OK - a little dry for my liking but quite tasty and filling (and virtuous!)

Am thinking I deserve a little treat for not snacking all day so will prob have a cuppa and one choc biscuit in a min - this is the lesser of two evils as the other thing I fancy is loads of booze...not on a Monday, no no no...disgraceful

Crazy that is a nightmare re: cooker situation! Hope you get a new one soon

Hi everyone. Twinkle was asking about motivation tips. I managed to stick to loosing wieght last time as I had a goal in mind and this time I have a wedding to plan for. I keep thinking about what dress i want to wear and how much better I will feel having lost the wieght.

I have never been able to cut things I love out completely (like chocolate) and couldn't live without my cup of tea. As others have said if you get hungry have a drink and normally this will take your mind off food for a bit longer!

Today I plan to have..

Bowl of fruity cereal
4 rice cakes
2 slices of cheese & 4 cherry toms.
shepherds pie and veg
4 cups of tea and 1 glass of pepsi max.

MumInBeds · 23/02/2010 07:01

Thank you for welcoming me.

Well not quite as bad as I thought, 11st5lbs so losing a stone will get me 1lb from target and I have my sis-in-law's wedding on the 10th April so that would be perfect.

My food plan today is:

Protein shake
1 apple
3 dutch rounds with cream cheese
salad
1 boiled egg
stir-fried veg and salmon
carrot sticks

I want to hit 7,000 steps on my pedometer and get in 30 mins on the wii fit.

Pretty dress, here I come!

redshoesnoknickers · 23/02/2010 07:31

Morning all!

I am definitely going to do 30 mins exercise when I have dropped the DCs at school - either run or Davina.

Food today: blueberry and yog smoothie/hummus salad/baked butternut squash and salad

upahill · 23/02/2010 07:44

Well I suppose I better join in!!
My weight has crept up to 11.12 (How did that happen?
My nearly confortable is about 10 so as you can see there is a bit of a lump to lose!

Did Davina last night and gym this afternoon.

Let's Go!!!

twinkle183 · 23/02/2010 08:21

Am off shopping today to fill my empty cupboards with lots of nice snacks....

I didn't managed a run yesterday to a really bad cold and couldn't breathe through my nose so tried to run but only got in to by 5 mins and nearly died due to the running nose issue! However I did manage some pilates and now I look like I have straddled a donkey...

So seeing as the nose feels abit better today will try and manage one later but not going to beat myself up if I can't as I am not well!!

Keep going girlies we can do this!!!!

redshoesnoknickers · 23/02/2010 09:53

Aaaaargh - I cannot make myself do Davina! I just can't. And it's raining hard so no running

OP posts:
isthatporridgeinyourhair · 23/02/2010 10:11

Morning all

Have done Davina, walked to school (1 mile) and had breakfast (yoghurt and fruit) and am now starving! And it's only 10 am - will drink some water and think about how nice it will be to fit into my clothes again to stave off hunger. noknickers - I have the same thoughts about running as you do about Davina. That recipe sounds interesting, if you get a spare moment could you post it?

Lunch is an omelette and dinner is veg and low fat halloumi kebabs.

Well done upahill!

roseability · 23/02/2010 10:41

Hi there

I will join too

13st 6lbs

Ultimately I want to be 10.5 st but a stone by easter is a good start

Weighed myself this morning, when is next one?

PlumBumMum · 23/02/2010 12:03

Hi can I join too?

I was lurking last night and then weighed myself

I was fighting the weight at 11.7 but I have crept up to 12.2 (upahill I don't know how it happened either)
I have an underactive thyroid so I blame it on that, but it is more likely my underacvtive motivation

like many others would love to be 10. something so here it goes

when do we weigh again?

lunch boiled egg & toast
dinner small portion of spag bol

redshoesnoknickers · 23/02/2010 12:57

Hi newbies

Weigh when it suit you but I'm doing Friday mornings

OP posts:
MumGoneCrazy · 23/02/2010 13:23

Arrggg i need a kick up the bum

My biggest problem is drinking too much coke and not eating properly, i dont have breakfast, have a sandwich between 12 and 1, then dont eat again until 6/7pm when we have dinner but because of the no cooker situation we've been eating fatty fried food and takeaways

Im off to dig the wii board out and do some exercise

redshoesnoknickers · 23/02/2010 14:24

Here is the [http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/3011/spiced-chicken-and-cauliflower-pilaf chicken pilau recipe]

PlumBumMum · 23/02/2010 15:58

redshoes that link didn't work but I found it looks yummy

My problem is when dh is working late I want to snack while I'm watching TV,
and eating late we always have our dinner at 6 at the earliest
and probably too many take aways at the weekend

mumgonecrazy I cut out coke ages ago and after awhile I find I don't even like it as much (unless it has bacardi in it)

twinkle183 · 23/02/2010 16:01

Afternoon ladies.... been and got lots of fruit and filled the freezer up with lots of fish and chicken!

My throat is still bothering me so when I went to the nurse to get my depo down - she weighed me and I was dreadding it! But I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had lost 2lbs!

So fighting weight is down now to llst 3lbs!! Will try and managed a run but the nurse said my throat was due to me being run down, if not I'll do pilates for a bit at least I am doing something!

Not sure what to have for tea any ideas?

SciFiFan · 23/02/2010 16:18

Hi, Hope it's not too late for me to join. I started my diet at the beginning of jan and lost half a stone quite quickly but have recently hit a plateau so need something to remotivate me.

I've been 11st 2 for about 4 weeks!!

I'm weighing in on Fridays and have been trying to be good so far this week as well as up my exercise. I'm feeling quite virtuous as I went for a walk earlier (about 2 miles) even though it was raining).

Twinkle - rather than cut out chocolate completely I have a single Lindt Lindor at the end of each day. It gives me something to look forward to and feels like I'm treating myself as it isn't just a mars bar.

Hope your throat is better soon.

redshoesnoknickers · 23/02/2010 18:20

Hi scifi - well done on the half stone - sure you'll lose this week

Good food day even tho i couldn't face exercise grapes and a handful of bran flakes as snacks. Dinner in the oven

Well i finally got on the wii board and im 11st 2lb and my bmi is 30.1

My last weigh in on the wii board was 57 days ago and ive lost 5lb since then.

For my height i should be between 7.5st and 8st but thats not going to happen lol I'll be happy with 9st so im looking to lose about 2st

twinkle183 · 23/02/2010 20:32

Scififan Thanks for the well wishes!!! Great news on the half a stone keep going! I know what you saying about the chocolate square but unfortunately if I had one i'd eat the whole bar and I don't have anyone to hide it away from

redshoesnoknickers well done on the food front...

mumgonecrazy your not the only one with a bmi of that... We must be about the same height as my ideal weight is somewhere between those too...

I just keep saying if Hannah Waterman can do it so can I!!! lol

QueenofDreams · 23/02/2010 20:37

Hi ladies, can I join?
I'm not sure of my exact weight, last time I weighed was about 12 stone, BMI of 31. something.
I don't eat properly - no breakfast, whatever I find for lunch, and a big dinner late at night when DP gets home from work.
I need to get down to about 9 1/2 stone ideally.
Please someone suggest a diet regime that doesn't cost any money as I am skint. Also any tips on excercise. Currently don't get any

twinkle183 · 23/02/2010 20:42

Welcome QueenofDreams... the more the merrier!

duckyfuzz · 23/02/2010 20:44

hello ladies and welcome newcomers

Similar food to yesterday for me today, hopefully there will be some weight loss to show for it, I feel stuck in a rut at the moment, liek scififan (well done on half a stone since xmas )

I have got down to bmi of just on 25, having been 29, so I'm happy with that, but another stone makes me 23 I think, so that would be nice, but feels unattainable!

queenofdreams I lost by cutting out bread, not snacking, no booze Mon - Fri then letting myself have nice stuff at weekends, it seemed to work and no real cost involved, I am rubbish at exercising, I did start running but then it got dark and cold so I stopped

PlumBumMum · 23/02/2010 20:45

Right Iam getting peckish now

Queenofdreams
The last time I hit 12 stone I was shocked I started walking every day and cut out snacks I lost a half a stone but it was coming up to christmas(2008) and thought oh I've done so well and let it all slide now it is all creeping on again

Think I am going to google some healthy meals for everyone to eat

Googld and my BMI is 29.4 not sure what my ideal weight is supposed to be
