A stone by Easter challenge!

redshoesnoknickers · 21/02/2010 07:17

Well half term is over, back to school tomorrow and Spring is in the air...time to get rid of the winter flab methinks!

I weigh 11 stone and want to be 10 by Easter (and ultimately around the 9 stone 7-10 mark) - six weeks to do 14lbs doable I think?

My reward will be lovely shopping for summer clothes.

My plan is to do HM smoothie or cereal breakfast, Soup or salad lunch and "normal" healthyish dinner (but watch the portion size on carbs. I will be trying to drink lots of water and less coffee/alcohol and exercising 3 x per week (prob be running but am considering joining a gym!!)

So anyone who fancies joining me feel free

Today: Strawb and yog smoothie/prawn salad/shepherds pie and brocolli. Might run later if it ever stops RAINING!!

Same here redshoe I lost 8lbs and got down to 10st 8 from 11st 2 so I'm really pleased.

What's the next challenge?

simmo39 · 06/04/2010 21:40

When I joined the thread 3rd week of feb I was 13 st 9 lb, my weight on Good Friday was 11 st 13 1/2 lb, so I think that works out to 1stone 9 1/2 lb off Am very pleased!
Thanks to all of you for all your support this group has been such a great help to me.

I still have almost 3 stone left to go so would love to continue this thread if everyone else is up for it?

Well done to all of you on your weight loss, I do feel that I have had a bit of an advantage as I am using a professional diet company that are at my beck and call when I need them. I know it takes will power too but to be honest I don't really think about food too much I just open the packet and heat it up. I will need all of your support when I have to start cooking all of my own meals so really hope you all have the time (no necessarily the weight to lose) to keep logging on....??????

SciFiFan · 07/04/2010 15:12

Hi simmo I still have another 8lbs to go so I'm happy to carry on. I need to the regular log-in to keep me focused. Hope everyone else hasn't just drifted away.....

MumGoneCrazy · 07/04/2010 21:08

Im back to 11st 3lbs

I keep losing 3-4lbs and then gaining them again.

I was going to start a new thread as easter has gone but im happy to just carry on with this one.

You girls are so supportive...It's a shame we all live so far apart, we could of had 2 meet ups a before and after meet up

Right...On monday there is going to be a new me...a new motivated me that is determined to lose 2 stone at least by the end of summer...Im going to exercise every day, no excuses this time or "it wont hurt if i miss a day" and no more crappy food and snacking late at night because that is why i look like a giant squishy marshmallow

I would start tomorrow but as well as my 4DC i also have my little brother staying until sunday and we have a big family meal out on the weekend for my parents anniversary and i know i'll be tempted by things i shouldn't eat

MumGoneCrazy · 07/04/2010 21:11

Huge well done to you all for losing really good amounts of weight

Simmo Your doing great...keep it up
We'll all be here to support you if you need us

simmo39 · 07/04/2010 22:27

Thaks everyone, Easter is a hard time when you're dieting just chocolate in your face everywhere!
Mondays are always the best day to start a diet, weekends are just too difficult

Last couple of days have been good as my DH has been away on a course so have stuck to my diet. My 40th birthday tomorrow and am out for lunch and take out for dinner but am not going to be too hard on myself. Just having a little cheeky glass of wine as my diet counsellor at Go Lower said I can have the ocassional one. Its gone to my head already! I feel really naughty though and worry that I will weigh myself and have put loads back on.....I have decided not to stress though and enjoy this week, after all you only turn 40 once.....

PlumBumMum · 07/04/2010 22:30

Hi girls Sorry I dropped out but I really was crap, still need to lose it, so will look for new thread!

Well done to all those who did soo well

twinkle183 · 08/04/2010 09:18

PlumBumMum you don't need to find a new thread just you dropped out.. your welcome here!

We have all gained and lost and we're in this together... I have new target but love this thread because everyone is so supportive...

I lost about 6lbs and then gained it over easter cos Dh left for his job and is now going away for 5 months (service wife) so sulked for a couple of days and consumed everything in sight and that was the result... But have started again and have already lost 2lbs... which is cool!

Have a target of wanting to loose 40lbs now to get to my ideal weight. I know that this is going to be hard work so have invested in some good dvds to work out to. I also have no excuse not to go running as we have a gym (used to be a playroom but kiddies never used it) It has a fab treadmill in it...!! So I need a good kick up the bum PLEASE

As motivation have taken some before shots aswell so that everytime I go to grab something naughty I can just look at the pics. They are on my phone which i always have with me.

Sorry for the rant but i need help was doing so well...

Is anyone else on here managed to do while being a single mum (which is what I am while dh is away)

Simmo congrats on your fab weight loss.. Are you on the go lower? Oh and before I forget Happy Birthday for tomorrow and just enjoy yourself....!!

simmo39 · 09/04/2010 21:28

Thanks Twinkle and PBM - please continue with us, we all need the support. There are lots of other threads but hey ours is the best!
Twinkle I know what you are going through, my DH worked in Germany for 3 months at the end of last year and it was so hard. Do you have lots of support & help?
I was very greedy yesterday.... found loads of grey hairs so not a good start to my 40th birthday!!! Ate chips, chocolate, chinese and drank pink champagne! And I don't feel guilty at all
Got right back track today and have only eaten my GoLower food. Weighed myself this morning and have put on 1 lb....so a bit fed up but not surprised and it kind of proved that if I stick to LC and my GoLower meals it does work...

twinkle183 · 10/04/2010 09:56

Hi ya girlies... haven't weighed myself in a while but am okay about that... so am not worried and will weigh myself next week! I haven't been so good on the exercise front as I have been sulking for the last couple of days

Have been good with my food for a while.. so just hope that it will continue although today is my daughters 3rd birthday.. so am going to treat myself to some cake.. I am going to try and motivate myself to do my hannah waterman dvd later.. (((fingers crossed)))

Am going to continue with this thread defo....

twinkle183 · 10/04/2010 21:12

Hello girls....

I braved the scales today and was chuffed to find I had lost 5lbs... woohoo! I am back on track ladies!! I am 11st 2lbs and I am certainley not letting that back on at all!

I have been really slack with the exercise and been sulking as you can see...

Exercise starts tomorrow again with college.. so must feel the burn...!!!

supermummmy · 12/04/2010 22:55

hi guys i am so happy that i have found that i can lose weight at a sensible rate my fear os i do not want to go ion a crash diet and then put all the weight back on. i think that if i stick to around 2lbs in the week then i will be ok and at the same time i will be firming up i have the time to attend spinn classes now which i really enjoy i have lost half a stone so far since i started i checked the wii fit and at the start of the year i was 13 stones 3 lbs which is alot considering i used to be ten stones four pound that is my goal i want to enjoy my weight loss experience but what i have found is that i have a new zest for life and for now when i do treat my self its to shoes and hand bags.

twinkle183 · 13/04/2010 10:59

I weighed myself this morning on the wii fit and I have lost another pound... some am on track to loose the remaining 36 pounds!!! Can't believe so seeing as I have this added motivation am going to do my hannah waterman dvd while ds2 is in bed and dd is watching high school musical!!!

Am well chuffed with myself have also treated myself to zumba classes on friday to get me out of the house and a heart rate monitor for exercising... am in the zone!!!

Well done supermummy on your weight loss, keep it up!!

simmo39 · 13/04/2010 21:24

Wow twinkle you are motivated, go girl!! What is a zumba class? Sounds interesting....and well done on your weight loss that is fantastic!
I have been good on the eating front this week but not so good on the exercising and I can notice a difference already, definitely not as firm. So tonight I will start doing my sit ups again every night. Too tired to do Davina, DD had me up at 11pm, 1am, 4 am then up at 8am and that has been the same the last few nights so am very tired. But we mananged to take the dog for a long walk over the fields today so I did move about a bit.
Getting addicted to one of my GoLower lunches, smoked Haddock soup, really nice. I will start looking like a fish if I have any more!!!

twinkle183 · 14/04/2010 18:55

OOOO that sounds lovely simmo39 smoked haddock soup!!

Am not as motivated as you think but am doing my best! Life is very hectic at the moment so it's finding time to exercise as well as coursework and sort three kids! With all this going on you would think that I would have lost all my weight ages ago... but ly not!!!!!

Zumba is this new type of aerobics/salsa/rumba class and apparantly it is the best thing since sliced bread for loosing weight.. so we will see how I get on, I'll probably be dead before the first 10 mins but that the point of weight loss, no pain, no gain!!!

Simmo39 at least your doing some form of exercise like walking the dogs... its better than sat on the sofa with lots of biscuits and a cup of tea!

simmo39 · 14/04/2010 22:04

I remember when my husband was away I was exhausted! Just walking the dog was a major effort so I know how hard it is. Hope you have lots of support, I got really down and depressed when DH was away even though my family and his were happy to help. It was more the sleep deprivation as DD was only 4 months old. Best of luck I know you have a great incentive with the Vegas holiday but don't make yourself ill you obviously have a lot on your plate.....

Am shattered tonight, it is gone 10pm and DS is sitting next to me. He has decided he doesn't like his bed anymore he likes ours!

twinkle183 · 16/04/2010 11:13

Simmo39... I am so glad that someone knows how I feel... the motivation to do anything today is rather lacking... am not sure what to do to be honest???? I really struggled to get myself out of bed today... and have found that I am snapping at the kids again and I know that it is not lack of sleep as I went to bed at 9:43pm! Am lost....

Haven't weighted myself as I didn't see the point to be honest and am doing really well with food so I know that is not the problem! I can't even be bothered to go in to college either and I know I need to cos I have exams coming up... oh I am an emotional mess! I know it'll get better... am off to zumba tonight so will let you know how that goes!!

simmo39 · 16/04/2010 22:23

I felt exactly the same when my DH was away, didn't want to get up and face the day. Was really snapping at my DS who in the end was asking me why I was so sad and to just be happy! That really got to me. You must ask your relatives and friends for support, make sure you get some time out. At least the kids are back at school next week so you may feel better then. Well done for being good with your food very disciplined considering you are under a lot of stress. Enjoy your Zumba....

twinkle183 · 17/04/2010 09:01

My kids have already been back a week!! So have had a few days well earned rest... I can always tell when one of those days is coming its when I went up in the morning with a thick head!!!

I just don't want to punish myself with food which is what I was doing so want to get this weight off for good!!!

Zumba was alright.. not as good as I expected but it was fun to get out of the house for a change!!!!

Weighted in today am now 11st....! Woohoo I can almost sniff the 10st mark... can't believe how quick I have got this mark... not sure why I couldn't do it last time

Simmo38 are we the only ones using this thread????

simmo39 · 19/04/2010 22:09

Yes starting to think we are the only ones on this thread!! Hey is there anyone else out there...
Can't wait to weigh 11 stone, should be there in next 4 weeks if I carry on as I have been. Had another chat with my GoLower counsellor today, she was so positive and really motivated me. So much nicer to have a one to one chat, not like at diet clubs I have been to before where you get a 30 second chat if you are lucky after your public humiliating weigh in!
Am getting a bit nervous about making my own food again, but she re assured me that they will continue to support me, and help develop a maintenance plan to ensure I don't put any weight back on.
Well done on reaching 11 stone, I am trying to catch you up!

twinkle183 · 20/04/2010 08:24

Simmo39 I am really proud of your progress.. don't worry your catch me up in no time!! I started a new dvd as everyone is raving about it.. 30 day shred!! I tried level 1 and really enjoyed it!! Pelvic floor isn't as strong as it use to be... but am not hurting after the first day so will see how I get on today???

Am not going to weigh in until the weekend I think.. as I had a couple of bad days at the weekend....

I am so glad that you manage to find a diet that works for you and someone that takes the time to listen... don't worry about making your own food by then your body will tell what is bad for you and good for you! I had a McDonalds with the kids at the weekend and it was just too fatty and made me feel so sick I had to go to bed when the kids did!!!!

Beginning to think that maybe we should just exchange email addresses and support each other that way as we are the only two left....

(((SHOUTING))) Anybody else out there....???

SciFiFan · 22/04/2010 14:01

Hey I'm out here. I was on holiday for a week and went a bit off plan but had a good time.

When I weighed in on Monday I was 10st 12 so had put on 4lbs in one week!!! Why does it have to be soooo hard to lose but sooo easy to put on .

Anyway I'm back on track now and aiming for 9st 9 by August. The lovely weather is helping re walking alot but my hayfever isn't helping anything!

Well done with your progress twinkle and simmo hopefully we'll be celebrating mine as well in a couple of weeks .
