Well half term is over, back to school tomorrow and Spring is in the air...time to get rid of the winter flab methinks!

I weigh 11 stone and want to be 10 by Easter (and ultimately around the 9 stone 7-10 mark) - six weeks to do 14lbs doable I think?

My reward will be lovely shopping for summer clothes.

My plan is to do HM smoothie or cereal breakfast, Soup or salad lunch and "normal" healthyish dinner (but watch the portion size on carbs. I will be trying to drink lots of water and less coffee/alcohol and exercising 3 x per week (prob be running but am considering joining a gym!!)

So anyone who fancies joining me feel free

Today: Strawb and yog smoothie/prawn salad/shepherds pie and brocolli. Might run later if it ever stops RAINING!!

Morning.

Yikes after getting on the scales this morning. Muesli and yogurt this morning. I'm going to go and work out my weeks meals in a bit so I've got a definite plan to stick to.

Shakes isthatporridgeinyourhair's hand for doing Davina already today. And thumbs up to your dh too.

I may be Davina-ing later but have a busy day ahead so we'll see. Making excuses already aren't I? Oh dear

redshoesnoknickers · 22/02/2010 12:26

Mmmmmm - yummy salad! Why do I usually live on biscuits? I am so LAZY!

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 22/02/2010 13:22

Thanks Yogini DH will be pleased about the thumbs up - he lives in terror of MN!

And thanks no knickers - most of my cookbooks are of the "full fat and delicious" variety and I'm bored of the rest!

YoginiBikini · 22/02/2010 13:57

Just running through.

Strawberry cable. Yum.

I'm using Cook Yourself Thin books for inspiration. Here

Still not meal planned yet. I am so cold and so hungry today

mumoverseas · 22/02/2010 15:01

I'm going to weigh on Wednesdays as joined WW online last Wednesday.
Start weight 12 stone 3.5lbs [blush[
Aim to get to around 10 1/2.

I've no excuses as DC4 just turned 1 and I'm still carrying baby weight from DC1 who will be 17 this year

twinkle183 · 22/02/2010 16:00

Afternoon all... have done it! I have finally given up chocolate... and any type of caffeine! Its killing me especially as easter eggs have come out!!! I am staying strong and am about to go for a 2.5 mile run!!! The training is going okay except for my stinking cold so will do my best even if I have to walk it!!

I can't believe how big the thread has got... its brillant!! Keep going girlies we can do it!!!

start weight 11st 5lbs
Goal weight 9st

So a way to go but will take what I can get first!

twinkle183 · 22/02/2010 16:02

isthatporridgeinyourhair Are those cookbooks easy to follow and what sort of recipes do they have???

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 22/02/2010 16:52

Hi twinkle - well done on the giving up stuff - can't live without tea so I admire you! It was Yogini with the cookbooks but I'd be interested in the answer to your question too.

redshoesnoknickers · 22/02/2010 17:12

Am I too late to join here? I'll weigh in tomorrow morning but I'm around 11st7lbs and I want to get down to 10st4lbs - 10st7lbs would be great by Easter though.

redshoesnoknickers · 22/02/2010 18:32

MumGoneCrazy · 22/02/2010 18:35

Can i join as well?

I havent weighed myself since christmas so im dreading it

I was 11st 3 or 5 then and my bmi called me borderline obese because of my height 5ft

I need to lose weight, give up the coke and quit smoking all by may 22nd - wish me luck

MumGoneCrazy · 22/02/2010 18:37

By coke i mean the drink
I drink at least a litre a day

MomBombadil · 22/02/2010 18:37

Me too please - am currently 12.7 and would like to be 10.00. A stone by Easter fits in perfectly with this.

I began today too . Had poached egg on toast and everything.

My prob is portion sizes - that's where i fall down. I can eat ALOT in one sitting. And drink alot too without getting drunk - which doesn't mean it's not really bad for me obv.

About now is my downfall re: booze (as in a nice G&T when relaxing). I have also decided to stop eating family meals in the week i.e. all eating the same thing. Together at the table is fine but if i cook for all of us i cook way more than something for DSs and then something for me (with DH cooking his own later). Does anyone think this will help?

redshoesnoknickers · 22/02/2010 18:56

More the merrier Crazy and Bombadil

Have you tried using a smaller plate and eating family meals but just less Bombadil? Would save you making another meal?? Maybe just do that if the others are having something really fattening??

Crazy have you tried Allen Carr for smoking - I hear he's v. good.

OP posts:
MomBombadil · 22/02/2010 18:58

Smaller plate a very good idea .

YoginiBikini · 22/02/2010 19:10

Oh poo! I have failed abysmally this afternoon. The coffee trick didn't work for me I'm afraid. Green and Blacks kept calling to me Anyway it's all gone now so it can't taunt me tomorrow

Will blame pmt I think.

The books are actually very good porridge. I'll give you more info about them tomorrow on my New Day

Welcome to everyone new

duckyfuzz · 22/02/2010 19:22

evening everyone I understand the green and blacks temptation only too well yogini!

weighed in at 11st7 this morning, having been 11st3 the week before half term but I was just over 13st last June when i decided enough was enough, lost my weight in 2 blocks really and would love to lose this last stone to get me to a good bmi, my 3rd block I guess

So, today I've had
orange juice
muesli
2 clementines
2 plums
2 apples
chicken salad with a bit of couscous
some berries
tomato soup
a slice of cheese
4 coffees
1 cup of tea
lots of water

I ought to do some wii exercise now, but am too tired and pmt-ish

duckyfuzz · 22/02/2010 19:24

mombombadil I try and eat more at lunch time then have salad or soup in the evening, it has worked for me - when I manage to stick to it...!

twinkle183 · 22/02/2010 19:35

Goodness all you girlies are good with your food... I really need some help... I have tried ww but keep falling off the wagon the most days I have achieved in a row is about 5! Any advice would be helpful...

Until now I am on day 5 of the caffeine ban and went back to college today and the amount on chocolate and 's on display is enough to make me crumble!!! Any advice girlies...

Its brill that we can all support each other!!!

duckyfuzz · 22/02/2010 19:54

twinkle I couldn't do a caffeine ban, no way! I find seeds/nuts good to nibble on, but have always had a thing for savoury rather than sweet snacks

twinkle183 · 22/02/2010 20:01

duckyfuzz I know I must be mental especially as I am trying to juggle to 3 kiddies under 6 while going to college full time, with my hubby working away (navy boy)! But to be honest I am not missing tea or coffee cos I have decaff... I really, really miss chocolate - I am a chocaholic! But to be honest I feel better without it... so guess thats what fuels the fire...

So nuts, what type babe?

MumGoneCrazy · 22/02/2010 20:19

I have a HUGE problem when it comes to eating healthy foods

I dont currently have a cooker (mine was leaking gas had to go)
and cant afford one for another 2-3wks and because im saving for a cooker i cant really afford to buy a steamer or slow cooker so only have a microwave and deep fat fryer.

Im getting the wii fit out tomorrow, havent used it since christmas, and going to set my goal and really stick to it this time.

duckyfuzz · 22/02/2010 20:31

any nuts will do, so long as they're raw - I dry-fry them (and seeds) then add a splash of soy sauce to make them tastier though!
