Well half term is over, back to school tomorrow and Spring is in the air...time to get rid of the winter flab methinks!

I weigh 11 stone and want to be 10 by Easter (and ultimately around the 9 stone 7-10 mark) - six weeks to do 14lbs doable I think?

My reward will be lovely shopping for summer clothes.

My plan is to do HM smoothie or cereal breakfast, Soup or salad lunch and "normal" healthyish dinner (but watch the portion size on carbs. I will be trying to drink lots of water and less coffee/alcohol and exercising 3 x per week (prob be running but am considering joining a gym!!)

So anyone who fancies joining me feel free

Today: Strawb and yog smoothie/prawn salad/shepherds pie and brocolli. Might run later if it ever stops RAINING!!

My Davina DVD still hasn't arrived! Have chased it up, bit peeved as really want to get cracking on it. Only 1 month to Easter and the week aftter is my 40th birthday.
Gonna have a small party so that is really driving me at the moment to loose as much as I can by then. Am already stressing what I will wear.
So far on average have lost 4lb a week on the GoLower diet and finding it ok. Just hope I don't plateau. If all goes well should have lost another 16lb by then.

kurves · 10/03/2010 07:27

well done 4lbs a week is good at this rate you will be ahead of us by easter. keep up the good work and remember better off than on. my weigh in is not until saturday i must admit that last night i was so hungry after dinner i cannot wait for my body to get used to this day 5 and looking ahead to saturday.

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 10/03/2010 08:15

Hi all and well done Simmo and Kurves

Have stuck to about 1100 (or under) calories a day and exercised everyday with davina. I usually do the 30 minute workouts but have started adding in routines from High Energy Five and Superbody to do at least an hour a day. Sometimes it doesn't work out if DS2 doesn't nap long enough, which is frustrating!

Not losing very much I think so will hang off weighing in until Friday .

simmo39 · 10/03/2010 14:29

Davina has arrived! Just watching it now, looks really really hard! Gonna try tonight whilst DC in bed and DH at footie training so that no one can laugh at me.
Just hope I can walk in the morning and manage the walk to school. If successful tonight and manage a 30 min workout will have eggs and bacon for breakast to celebrate (allowed on LC diet!)
Davina does make me laugh the faces she pulls.........

SciFiFan · 10/03/2010 16:10

Good Luck tonight with the DVD simmo and can I say I am at your 4lb a week weight loss.

Went out for lunch today but had a jacket potato with tuna (and didn't even eat it all). It could have been so much worse - the steak and kidney pie & chips was calling to me .

kurves · 10/03/2010 18:41

isthatporrigeinyourhair

i know how you feel when you are really trying and it is just not happening, that is why i decided to try the Cambridge diet and it seems to be working i am on around the same amount of cals like you do not worry as you are working out so much something should happen.

Just a thought may be you need to increase your calories a bit on the days that you are working out because what your body could be doing ids going into starvation mode and holding on to the weight instead of letting go .

That was the advice given to me by my councilor to eat a bit more when working out. try also to cut back on the carbs and try fruit salads and well balanced meals with nothing fried and loads of veg and drink a good amount of water.

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 10/03/2010 19:57

Thanks Kurves. Think that you're right. Am going to try it.

Simmo - trust me by the 450th time you'll be doing it with the "mostly music" option on and wishing Davina wasn't so expressive!

simmo39 · 10/03/2010 20:22

SciFiFan - Well done on your willpower lunch time. Were they fat chips that you resisted? I do miss those.....(imagining a bit bowl with loads of mayo, drool, drool)

Isthat porridge... 450 times! If it makes me thin then ok. Yes I can imagine now you mention it that eventually she will get on my nerves!

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 10/03/2010 20:37

Seems like 450 ...

twinkle183 · 11/03/2010 07:39

Morning ladies...

Haven't checked in for a while as I have been so busy with college work! I have been managed to squeeze in a 2.25 mile run everyday and plus 20-30mins on the wii fit! That hula doesn't get any easier.....

isthatporrigeinyourhair also don't forget that your probably building muscle aswell cos of all the exercise that your doing and we all know that muscle weighs more than fat your probably find that the weight will drop off one week.. once your body realises what its doing!!!

Am not doing too bad on the food front finally back on the water of 2litres aday... I missed that while I was sick!!

Keep it up ladies!!!

kurves · 11/03/2010 07:43

hi girls it seems as if i am addicted to mums net the support is so good.

Well i slipped up last night had 2 slices of white bread with butter but not to worry this morning i woke up feeling really different well light my belly is so flat now feeling great.

i am going to a spinn class at 12 15 so the 2 slices of bread should be worked off during that class.

today i am sticking to my normal diet and my weigh in may be tomorrow as its my ds birthday on Saturday and i want to totally dedicate my day to him. i will be giving her a ring today as i need to pick up my weekly stuff may be today after spinn now to think of it i have a full day tom and on sat well i will see how busy she is . i will let you guys know of the out come.

SciFiFan · 11/03/2010 09:08

Hey you guys. I was feeling a bit down this morning re all the effort vs very little weight loss but your comments and ideas are encouraging me to keep going.

twinkle I so hope that my body realises soon - I should be due a good 3 or 4lb weight loss one of these weeks.

simmo luckily for me they weren't fat chips. And yes I'm there with you re the bowl of fat chips and mayo [drool emoticon].

My other temptation is a giant, flaky, sausage roll. My office at work is right next door to the college cafe and they always have them in there....it's just painful to walk past them .

katz85 · 11/03/2010 09:23

hi ppl! am pretty new to this but hav a feeling im gonna be addictd! can i join?
im also aiming for a stone to lose by easter and have lost 4 pounds so far-started three weeks ago.im doing the davina superbody workout 5 times a week and eating healthy. clothes feel a bit looser but not losing that much on the scales! redshoes- you say davina worked for you in the past- how often did you do it and how much difference did it make? thanks

PlumBumMum · 11/03/2010 10:20

hi girls I've been really crap this week and I'm expecting to be back to sq1 tomorrow

SciFiFan · 11/03/2010 12:22

Hi katz85 good to have you on board.

Don't give up plumBumMum just start again afresh. I just keep telling myself that even if I only maintain weight it's better than giving up and piling on more weight.

I do wish I'd taken more measurements at the start so I could see if I was losing inches rather than lbs. I did take my waist which was 35

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 11/03/2010 13:11

Hi Katz and welcome. Superbody x 5 is good going- I do the superfit plus abs workout and those crunches at the end are killers! As to frequency - I do one of the 30 minute routines everyday - usually cardiobox and I've started superbody about 4 times a week on top of that. The 30 min workout 3 times a week have worked for me in the past.

Don't give up PlumBum - I get demoralised too with not losing as fast as I would like to but I try to focus on what it will feel like to be the weight that I want to be. One crap week doesn't make it impossible.

Thanks Twinkle

SciFi - fat chips and mayo - yum! Agree on measurements.

twinkle183 · 11/03/2010 13:57

Common girlies... don't give up... its better to loose slow and steady cos your more likely keep it off!

Everyone has there bad days... I know I have I ate a whole packet of hobnobs last week, I think ... don't go by the scales cos muscle weighs more than fat - I am not listening to them anymore cos I have lost 2 inches off my waist and nowt on the scales.. maybe we should do it by measuring tape instead!!!

We can do this even if we loose half a stone by easter that is achievment.. cos we are all busy mums with kiddies and am jobs not to mention keeping the house nice and tidy (((( rant over))))

Keep smiling

redshoesnoknickers · 11/03/2010 14:02

Hi Katz

I did Davina 3 x 30 min workouts at least 3x a week and ate yog and fruit brekfast/soup or salad lunch/sensible dinner no biscuits etc and I lost over a stone in 6 weeks - I actually got a bit too thin for my liking but a better sit than currently That was about 3 years ago.

I am doing really badly - completely lost focus aaaaaaaargh!

Must try harder

OP posts:
SciFiFan · 11/03/2010 14:19

You can do this redshoes. Give yourself a day (soon, not in three weeks time) as your new start date and focus on that.

Found the tape measure. My waist is now 32.5 inchs so that's 2.5 less than it was. Which makes me feel a whole lot happier!!

duckyfuzz · 11/03/2010 14:28

wow scififan that is fab! I am with the others who're having a bad week - I haven't been particularly bad, but the weight isn't shifting, in fact I woke up this morning heavier than when I went to bed surely a medicinal glass of red isn't that calorific!

kurves · 11/03/2010 16:59

hello guys see scifan it is coming off that means that you are building muscle and that is a good thing so do not give up thats is the process of losing weight what will happen is that in around 2 weeks the weight should start to drop again as the muscle helps to burn the fat .

i have slowed down on the working out so that when i get stuck i can really go at it at the gym.

I have lost 6lbs according to the councilors scales and that is in 6 days which is good so by saturday i will defo hit my goal of seven pounds i go for my weigh in on the20Th of march again so i will be working at it i will check the wii fit to see how its going to make sure that i am still loseing.

MumGoneCrazy · 11/03/2010 18:41

Aaahhhh bad week this week

Im eating healthier, but the exercise has only been about 15-20mins a day these past 3 days as we're all ill with the flu and its very hard getting motivated to do excerise when your ill nd hardly sleeping because the baby is waking every 20mins or so throughout the night, she has a stuffy nose and is having trouble breathing through it when she's sleeping and nothing is helping

Good idea about using a tape measure instead of lb loss
i'll dig one out tonight and post my measurements on here and was also thinking of posting a picture, maybe the embarrassment might motivate me more to work as hard as poss, so i can post a pic of slimmer, fitter me like a before and after

MumGoneCrazy · 11/03/2010 18:43

Oh and How disgusting is low fat natural yoghurt...

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 11/03/2010 19:40

Come on noknickers - you can do it!

MumGoneCrazy - oh yes - yucky - Greek Style has slightly more fat but I think is more palatable, not much, but some.

simmo39 · 11/03/2010 21:24

With you there, natural yoghurt is yuk! Also hate cottage cheese which seems to be a necessary food on many diets I have tried in the past. Used to try to eat it without actually tasting it, just put in mouth and swallow with bit mouthful of water! Lol!

MGC - Don't think I could be brave enough to post a picture. Would be too embarrissed, even though the weight is coming off fast still have a long way to go.
My little one still wakes most mights and she is nearly 9 months. Some mornings I feel like a zombie, so hard to get going.

Today has been a good day, felt very positive this morning, my Davina DVD has spurred me on. Although she did make a comment on it that concerned me, she started this exercise regime over a year ago, and although she looks fab I don't know if I can keep it up for that long Will I ever be slim and toned? Or just slim and saggy?....

Rang my diet counsellor today at GoLower just for a chat really, and to check I am still following it all ok as seems so simple, thought I might be doing something wrong. But seems I can have a bit more than I thought so may have a small bowl of prawns tomorrow to pick at.

Weighing myself in the morning, minus heavy dressing gown, fingers crossed!!!!
