OK, new thread for 2010!

My aim is to have lost 2 stone by my Birthday on April 6th! Booking a weeks family holiday for that week and want to feel and look better!

So, weigh in Friday? I always find weekends harder so that would be a good day for me.

Smalline mmm roast dinner soup sounds interesting.
I normally do carrot, onion and leek or leek and potato. Sometime spicy butternut squash. Carrot and coriander is nice as well.

Good luck for 2010!

Small You must be pretty fit. Even people on the other thread who are used to exercise found it quite hard going. I found workout 2 hard to coordinate!

I am tired now and my neck aches. Think i need to keep an eye on how i do crunches.

Smalline · 05/05/2010 22:20

Have just done level 2, so much better than yesterday, I used smaller weights 2kgs this time, was able to complete it and felt fully 'worked out' at the end of it. Had a peek at level 3, not going there just yet.

Tortoise · 05/05/2010 22:23

Very impressed Small. I am still struggling on press ups on level 1! I still have to do the easier ones! Sure it will get better though. Finding some bits easier than day 1. Am on day 7 now (Had a 3 day break last week!)
Is it too early to re-take measurements? My Brother said there won't be a change in just a week.

Smalline · 05/05/2010 22:33

I wouldn't measure for at least another week tortoise, in fact the longer you leave it the better. You should start feeling your clothes getting looser soon.

Tortoise · 06/05/2010 12:15

OK will wait a bit longer. Actually looking forward to weigh in tomorrow! Hope i'm not disappointed!

Smalline · 07/05/2010 10:02

Right, 1lb on this week, I've got to get my act together starting from today. I'm not going to binge the weekend away, I'm going to write down everything I eat, more fruit, water, chicken, fish & vegetables, less sugar & red meat.

Tortoise · 07/05/2010 12:50

Well, i am disappointed this morning. Stayed the same (well lost 1/2lb but that's not worth thinking about!) I have shredded every night this week and i thought i had been eating ok.

Smalline · 07/05/2010 15:03

Please don't be disappointed Tortoise, the scales can't give you the whole picture. Do you look slimmer? are your clothes looser?

Smalline · 07/05/2010 16:23

Sorry had to dash off to pick the kids up!

I remember some years ago when I wanted to lose weight, I didn't have any scales and had no intention of buying any. I had to go on how I looked and by how my clothes fitted, the looser my clothes became, the more motivated I felt. I just kept going until I felt happy with the way I looked in the mirror. Sometimes I really feel like throwing away the scales and just using my clothes to measure my weight loss.

My nutrionists always tells me that he is not interested in how much I weigh, just my body fat measurements

Tortoise · 07/05/2010 17:23

Thanks small.
I think my jeans are a bit looser (actually falling down instead of being the good fit they were!) but haven't noticed any change in shape.
Have been a bit piggy at times today but will get back to it tomorrow. And i will keep shredding! Should probably think about starting level 2 next week. Am on day 9 today i think.

Mamii · 08/05/2010 11:45

I completely understand why you're disappointed Tortoise it is frustrating when you know that you've done all the things that you're supposed to do and it seems to make such little difference. I think Small's advice is wise. If I have a break from exercises and then I go back, it takes me a few weeks to start seeing the weight come off.

Good news is that I've lost 2lbs (13.7) mostly due to the fact that I couldn't swallow anything more than sloppy porridge and soup for a few days last week! (every cloud)...

Tortoise · 12/05/2010 22:35

Thanks Maami
Been a bad start to the week food wise but i'm not going to keep that up! Also didn't shred the last 2 days. Did do workout 2 tonight though. That's 10 days i have shreded out of about 14.

Smalline · 13/05/2010 10:11

Ahh, I remember the days when I could easily lose half a stone in a week just by cutting out the 1 bar of chocolate I used to have each day, thing is I didn't appreciate it then, now I'm struggling to lose 1lb a week. Ladies be warned, the older you get the harder it gets.

Shredded last tonight level 1, will do level 2 tonight, hope everyone has a good loss this week.

Mamii · 14/05/2010 16:37

Ha ha! With you there Small, I never used to think about my weight till I was about 32. Then it just kept creeping on and on till I suddenly realised that I was a size 20 :-o Then bam! realise that young and slim days are behind you (literally!) and now your middle aged and fat!

Can't do much about the middle age thing (better than the alternative really) but boy is it hard work getting rid of the fat!

Been really crap this week. Realised that we've all had mumps (no wonder was feeling ill) even though the kids have had MMR DS has been hit hard with it.

Have put on half a pound this week, 13stone 7.5 lbs. Still not back at exercises and really not feeling up to it yet.

How is every one else doing this week?

Tortoise · 14/05/2010 22:24

I lost 1lb this week! No idea how TBH.
Have shredded the last 2 nights on workout 2. Finding it hard going but enjoying it. No time tonight but will try and fit it in tomorrow.
Sunday/Monday are going to be tough. DD1's party Sunday and Birthday Monday. Have been busy making her Disco cake today (Pic in profile!)

Mamii · 15/05/2010 11:47

Loving the Disco Cake Tortoise! I can see that you're really good at baking. Hope the party goes well tomorrow. Have fun and happy birthday to your DD. X

Tortoise · 15/05/2010 18:08

Thanks Mamii. I do enjoy making cakes.

Smalline · 15/05/2010 18:11

Well I lost the lb that I put on last week and have added another to it, 12st 8 now, only 5 more to get back to my pre-holiday weight.

Sorry to hear that you and your family are not well Mamii, I didn't know that you could get mumbs if you have had the MMR! you learn something everyday.

Love the cake Tortoise hope DD has a great party & birthday.

Smalline · 15/05/2010 18:13

I meant mumps not mumbs

Tortoise · 21/05/2010 20:16

Stayed the same this week (phew)! Quite surprised after so much cake!

Have been keeping up with 30 day shred too. Am on day 18 today. Over half way through. Am trying to resist measuring until day 30! Will be disappointed if there is no change.

Smalline · 22/05/2010 17:13

1lb off this week taking me to 12st 7lbs, I've worked hard for that lb, have cut out sugar in everything, nothing tastes as nice, but I'm sure I'll get used to it soon and am not drinking alcohol.

Hope it all pays off in the end

Mamii · 24/05/2010 17:24

I'm 13st 9lb - means I've put on 1.5lb.

Oh dear, I have been a bit "relaxed" about watching what I'm eating and drinking.

Back to the proper diet this week (started today) so let's see if I can get it off.

Still coughing when I laugh - so not sure if I'll get back to the classes just yet. It's my birthday this weekend too - so am thinking that I may not bother with the diet this weekend either.

Smalline · 26/05/2010 17:45

Happy Birthday for the weekend Mamii, have you got anything special planned?

I'll be celebrating myself this weekend cos it's our wedding anniversary, DH has booked us a meal and tickets to see 'The Jersey Boys'.

Tortoise · 28/05/2010 09:08

12st 1 1/2 this week. 1lb loss i think. Not much but better than gaining!
Next week will be harder as kids all home for half term. Don't do much walking in school hols. Will have to drag them all on a daily dog walk lol!

Smalline · 28/05/2010 13:30

Every 1/2 or 1 lb counts Tortoise won't be long before you are 11 stone something.

2 lbs off this week taking me to 12st 5.

Have shredded about 4 times this week, tried level 3 this morning, boy it was hard as I am sure you well know. I refuse to do the jumping lunges, as I don't want to mess up my knees.
