OK, new thread for 2010!

My aim is to have lost 2 stone by my Birthday on April 6th! Booking a weeks family holiday for that week and want to feel and look better!

So, weigh in Friday? I always find weekends harder so that would be a good day for me.

Smalline mmm roast dinner soup sounds interesting.
I normally do carrot, onion and leek or leek and potato. Sometime spicy butternut squash. Carrot and coriander is nice as well.

Good luck for 2010!

Thanks ladies, I'm going to have a rethink on my portion sizes. Your scales sound fab Small, what make are they?

I must admit, I'm feeling great! We took the kids to the seaside yesterday (we live on the coast) and usually I find it hard running around on the stones and sand - but I felt brilliant yesterday. DH said he noticed a big difference too.

So, it could just be that I'm gaining muscle as you say.

Thanks for the much needed support ladies. Feeling loads more positive about next week now.

Smalline · 15/03/2010 13:26

The make is BALANCE KH 5519 Mamii, I bought them in Lidl's a couple of years ago, I noticed similiar in Lidl's a few weeks back.

Mamii · 15/03/2010 20:23

Thanks for that Small, I'm going to have a look for those.

I had smaller portions today, I'm going to keep that up this week and see if that makes any difference.

Tortoise · 19/03/2010 12:52

Hello.
I am feeling happy happy happy today.

I weighed myself this morning and was to see i was 12 st 8 lbs!!

Tried the scales in various positions in the kitchen and they still said the same so it must be right. Really pleased.

I think it is because i haven't been having big cooked evening meals because DC are having hot school meals now and only want tea when they get home so i have been having soup or toast. Last night i did make a small cottage pie for me and my Brother but had smaller portion than normal.

How has everyone else done this week?

Mamii · 19/03/2010 17:16

Well Done Tortoise, that's excellent! You sound so positive as well.

I've had a better week this week, I cut down my portions (thanks for the suggestion) and managed to stick to it all week.

So... I have finally broken into the 13's - Hurrah! - 13 stone 13lbs today, that's a 2.5lb loss this week.

Can't wait til my scales show 12 stone 8lbs like Tortoise

Tortoise · 19/03/2010 21:40

Well done mamii.
I am feeling a bit more positive. If i could just get to 12st by the 1st April i would be very happy.

Mamii · 20/03/2010 08:23

12 stone would be a fantastic acheivement, when you get there you should treat yourself!

I believe I'm going to hit my 10% goal for my holiday - so I bought myself a miracle swim suit as a reward for my hard work. I would never have spent that much on a swim suit other wise. But, I really feel I've put the work in and deserve it. Hopefully it will make me feel more confident on the beach.

How's Small getting on this week?

Smalline · 20/03/2010 16:30

Well done Tortoise & Mamii* you've done so well this week.

I've not done so well myself, have put on 1lb so I am now back to 12st 6lbs, so much for getting to 12 stone for the holiday, I've got to pull my socks up and really go for it over the next 2 weeks, it doesn't help when DH buys me large bags of mint aeros, I'm no good if temptation is in the house.

Tortoise · 25/03/2010 21:47

Are we all ready for weigh in tomorrow? I don't think i have been too bad but not good either!
Have walked more miles today than i can work out! My legs ache and i am sooo tired.

Smalline · 25/03/2010 22:01

No biscuits, no cakes, no chocolate this week, I'm hoping for a good result, but am not going to hold my breath.

Furball · 25/03/2010 22:04

it's me - confession time - I have been an absolute pig and am now the heaviest I have EVER been in my whole life.......

I have 2 pairs of rapidly tightening jeans to my name, but I just can't help myself.

I know I need to get back to sensible mode and I do think that most days, but then something just flips in my head and I make wrong, bad and extra portion choices

Right tomorrow will be different......[please]

Tortoise · 25/03/2010 22:17

Well done small.

Awww Furball. Keep positive. I had a piggy weekend but better in the week (i think). I think i should write down everything i eat so i can see it in front of me. I often think i have been ok but when i think about it, i haven't been good at all!

No idea what tommorrow holds!!

Tortoise · 26/03/2010 12:16

12st 9 this week. So slight gain but at least still under start weight!

Smalline · 26/03/2010 13:12

Come back to us Furball you know we have all been there, you were fantastic at losing the weight before, you can do it again, summer is coming and we all want to feel good about ourselves don't we.

I've lost the lb that I put on last week, plus another 2lbs this week, taking me to 12st 3lbs. l.5lbs to go to 1 stone yippee.

Furball · 26/03/2010 13:43

Thanks girls

I know what I need to do.......

and today.....I've done it so far......so.....I CAN DO IT.

(sorry about all the dots - but I feel it sums up the way I'm thinking?)

Furball · 26/03/2010 13:44

and I weigh 12 13lb

which is 4lb lighter than last week

Smalline · 27/03/2010 14:10

Mamii how are you doing this week?

Mamii · 29/03/2010 20:10

Wow! You ladies are doing so well and sound so motivated! Keep up the good work!

I have not done so well, but I confess I've had a flipping great time putting on a lb.

I went on a weekend cruise this weekend - I drank and ate loads. As I was in Brugge, I ate lots of chocolate too!! :-o

So 1 lb on this week, but oh boy was it worth it! ;o) 14 stone exactly.

Smalline · 31/03/2010 11:47

1lb is good Mamii, when I do that I usually put on 3-4lbs, the main thing is you enjoyed it.

Tortoise · 02/04/2010 08:43

Ooops i forgot it is friday. Have already had breakfast so i will try and remember to weigh myself in the morning. Then we are off to Devon on our hols. SO i won't be here nex week.
Would like to know what i am this week to compare it to next week lol!

Smalline · 02/04/2010 14:08

Stayed the same this week, I'm not complaining as I had quite a few mini chocolate eggs.

We're off to Cornwall tomorrow for our holidays so like you Tortoise I wanted to know my weight before and after the holiday.

Happy Easter everyone, and Happy Birthday for Tuesday Tortoise

Tortoise · 11/04/2010 10:41

Hi all.
Had a good weeks holiday and actually lost weight!
I am 12st 6 this morning!

How is everyone else doing?

Smalline · 12/04/2010 11:10

Hi, back from a lovely weeks holiday, ate & drank loads, but am back to healthy eating already, haven't weighed myself, will wait until Friday.

Great news Tortoise how did you manage that?

Furball · 12/04/2010 18:57

Well done everyone!

tortoise - am extremely about how you manage to do that on holiday! Excellent.

I'm a limp-a-long Lardy at the moment. Am trying just 1 day at a time to eat sensibly and so far is working.

I have to tell myself........keep making the right choices. I don't know why I keep telling myself as I do know that good ole healthy food, is actually really tasty.

Tortoise · 12/04/2010 21:40

I just ate less than normal. Wasn't at the caravan to eat much and cooked small meals while there because the cooker was small and couldn't cook big batch like normal. Wish i could do that at home! Bound to put the weight back on now home!
