OK, new thread for 2010!

My aim is to have lost 2 stone by my Birthday on April 6th! Booking a weeks family holiday for that week and want to feel and look better!

So, weigh in Friday? I always find weekends harder so that would be a good day for me.

Smalline mmm roast dinner soup sounds interesting.
I normally do carrot, onion and leek or leek and potato. Sometime spicy butternut squash. Carrot and coriander is nice as well.

Good luck for 2010!

It's Friday! It certainly comes around quick...

14st 3 1/2 lbs

Tortoise · 26/02/2010 17:27

Another loss Mamii? Well done.

I lost.... wait for it < drum roll >

1lb!!! Now back to start weight!

Mamii · 26/02/2010 17:36

Well done Tortoise!

Yes that was 2.5 down for me this week. I'm really pleased. Only 5 weeks til Easter now.

Smalline · 01/03/2010 13:20

Stayed the same this week, well done on your losses Mamii and Tortoise

Smalline · 05/03/2010 12:07

Whoop whoop 2lbs off this week, so that's 10.5 lbs in total, taking me to 12st 5lbs, 4 weeks until we go away, I would love to lose the 5lbs before we go.

How is everyone else doing?

Tortoise · 05/03/2010 20:40

Wow well done Small

I forgot to weigh myself this morning but i know it won't be a good result! Had a bit of a snickers addiction this week.

Looks like i won't lose anywhere near target before April. I am crap at this and pissing myself off!!

Smalline · 05/03/2010 21:24

You were doing so well on WW Tortoise why don't you rejoin?

Tortoise · 05/03/2010 21:59

Can't get to the meetings. I know how to do WW so guess i don't really need to go. I hate all this yoyo weight loss weigh gain. I have been 'trying' to lose weight since i joined this thread years ago! One week i feel positive then it all goes down hill the next week.

Mamii · 06/03/2010 11:11

No change for me this week - 14 Stone 3lbs

That's good going Small well done!

Tortoise you sound really down, I also don't get time to go to WW meetings. I work 40+ hours a week, I go to 4 or 5 exercise classes a week, I have a very lazy DH and 2 DC's (3&5).... Doesn't really leave me time for WW meetings. In fact, this manic lifestyle is why I got fat in the first place if I'm honest.

I do WW online - the tracking tools are brilliant! It's really helping me to realise what I'm eating and stay on track.

Don't give up now hon - try a different approach. Make yourself the priority for a few months. It'll benefit the whole family if you're happy and healthy. (that's my view these days)

Tortoise · 06/03/2010 11:41

I can't even really goto any exercise classes. Single Mum with 4 DC! 12,10,5 and 6.
I do have my Brother living with us at mo but don't like to dump DC on him too often. Plus it is about a mile walk to the sports centre! If i could find someone local to go with then i would be more likely to go.

Mamii · 06/03/2010 13:24

Sorry Tortoise, your situation must be incredibly difficult for you and must be almost impossible to get time to yourself.

The online WW tools are fab and are really worth trying.

Tortoise · 06/03/2010 14:19

It's ok i am used to it. Been single for nearly 5 years now. Is WW online expensive? Will try and have a look later.

Tortoise · 10/03/2010 11:52

So how is everyone's week going so far?
Mine hasn't been too bad! Been better than last week.

Smalline · 10/03/2010 21:02

Glad you are having a better week Tortoise.

Have been okay this week, have not been having enough fruit or water, very naughty, made chocolate cement concrete today, am allowing myself 1 small piece a day.

Tortoise · 10/03/2010 21:12

Tried to find that recipe but it didn't come up in search. I guess that is a good thing if it is that nice! I made rum and raisin flapjacks yesterday. Mmmm!

Smalline · 11/03/2010 13:18

"recipe here" baked for 45 minutes rather than 20, if you google 'chocolate concrete' there are other lower fat versions but this is the one I tried.

Tortoise · 11/03/2010 21:45

Thanks, Will have a look at that!
Weigh in tomorrow!!!

Tortoise · 12/03/2010 11:15

Think i am 12st 12lb this week. Really need to get some new scales. Mine give random readings!
How has everyone else done?

Smalline · 13/03/2010 12:55

I lost a quarter of a lb this week so I'm going to say that I stayed the same, mind you, that quarter of a pound took me out of the obese zone and into the overweight.

Oh by the way Tortoise if you do make the chocolate concrete, stick to 20 mins baking time, I don't know where I go 45 from, mine was too hard.

Tortoise · 13/03/2010 16:53

Well done Small. Lol @ wrong cooking time. Daren't make it at the moment! WOuld eat it too quickly!

Tortoise · 13/03/2010 17:55

Small Does both the normal sugar and the brown sugar go into the mixture or is that for sprinkling on the top? (Not that i am getting really tempted to make it!!)

Mamii · 13/03/2010 18:28

Well done ladies

I'm still being really good with food and going to loads of exercise classes - but only dropped 1.5 lbs this week. After having lost bugger all last week; this is testing my resolve.

So 14 stone 1.5 lbs this week. (and I was so looking forward to breaking into the 13 stone range this week ) Oh well, gonna keep on being good in the hope that I'll get a better result next week.

Tortoise · 13/03/2010 19:46

Mamii I wonder if all the exercise classes you are doing, are turning fat into muscle which does weigh more.

Maybe look at your portion sizes?
Write down every single thing that you eat for a week and evaluate that?
Do you use butter? If you do, look at how much you use and whether you actually need it? ie bread with soup needs no butter IMO.

Hope some of that helps if you haven't already thought of them.

Smalline · 13/03/2010 21:38

Well done Mamii l.5lbs is a good loss so well done you.

I have one of those weighing machines that measures fat, muscle & water content as well as body weight, I've lost 1% body fat and gained 1/2% muscle over the last couple of weeks, that is probably what is happening to you too, muscle weighs more than fat and it also burns more calories than fat does.

Tortoise normal and brown sugar goes into the recipe.

Tortoise · 13/03/2010 22:15

Thanks small .
