OK, new thread for 2010!

My aim is to have lost 2 stone by my Birthday on April 6th! Booking a weeks family holiday for that week and want to feel and look better!

So, weigh in Friday? I always find weekends harder so that would be a good day for me.

Smalline mmm roast dinner soup sounds interesting.
I normally do carrot, onion and leek or leek and potato. Sometime spicy butternut squash. Carrot and coriander is nice as well.

Good luck for 2010!

Aww thanks Small Smile. I have a huge chocolate cake for later (bought from Tesco lol!).

Furball · 06/04/2011 13:16

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TORTOISE! - woohoo

smalline well done for your 1 1/2 lb Grin

Me? - argh yes me...........I've been a blooming pig(Including 2 meals out and then my complacence) and put on 3 1/2 lb this week Blush good god am I elbowed back onto the straight and narrow.

Am going away for a few days too, but just about serves me right. I plan to loose that and that again (so 1/2 stone) by the time I weigh in in a fortnight Hmm

I've been pathetic diet wise ..........I need to re-focus and that gain has jolted me to it. I'm just pro longing everything.

Tortoise · 06/04/2011 13:59

Good Luck furball. you can do it.Smile
I put on about 1lb last wk. Keep forgetting to weigh myself Mondays. I ate a whole pot of Pringles Monday too! Not good! No more crisps for me until after lent. Probably best to never allow myself crisps!

Have the cold from hell again too!

Smalline · 07/04/2011 16:35

Any chocolate cake left Tortoise?

Tortoise · 07/04/2011 21:32

Yes Small, still some left! And it is DS1's Birthday tomorrow so more cake. Well, if i can get one! He asked for the giant french fancy. Specifically ordered from Sainsburys to deliver tonight just for the cake. They substituted it for 2 boxes of normal french fancies!! How did the picker think that would work!!!!

Furball · 08/04/2011 16:33

tortoise - just read somewhere you now have a slow cooker. have a look here - scroll down abit for loads of yummy recipes

I buy frozen caserole veg, so it's there all the time and can just 'chuck it in' at a moments notice. If you buy chopped meat as well, it takes about 20 seconds to prep. [lazybones] Chuck in a stock cube and a bit of boiling water and leave for the day. yum yum yum although it's not really the weather for it atm

hows everyones week going? any cake left? Wink

I'm doing OK, feel really bloated so easy stay on the straight and narrow. Am off tomorrow for 5 days. Will be 'self catering' so hopefully nothing too tempting will be had. although if the weathers like this - How can I resist a lovely Mr Whippy 99?

Have fun in the sun both - we've got to make the most of it, this could well be it til next year! Grin

Tortoise · 08/04/2011 16:57

Yes I do, Thanks furball, will have a look. Chicken curry currently cooking. Smells fab. Had no proper recipe so sort of winging it and hoping it will be ok! Smile

I love this weather but struggling cos I feel so fat at the moment.Sad

Tortoise · 10/04/2011 16:25

If I haven't lost weight this weekend I will be very shocked! 4 hours of gardening yesterday and a good 3 hours this morning plus mowed back lawn which was hard going because it had got a but too long! Now shattered! Enjoying the nice weather though.

Smalline · 11/04/2011 18:15

No change for me this week, stayed the same, thinking of going back to
Saturday weigh in.

Furball · 15/04/2011 08:56

Great gardening tortoise! well done to you

I'm doing OK - our few days away went well. i only succumbed to a massooove piece of coffee and walnut cake which I had instead of lunch and an equally massive ice cream. (not on the same day Grin ) which all in all I'm pleased with.

How are the holidays going for everyone else?

Smalline · 15/04/2011 10:48

Healthy eating has gone out the window this week as the kids are on holiday, but have been to the gym twice as well as my usual gruelling fit2fite classes which hopefully will make up for it, had a whole tub of cookies & cream haagan-dazs last night whilst watching Greys AnatomyBlush, will probably gain this week

Furball · 19/04/2011 06:03

Well - WI tomorrow. I'm doing OK, not sure I've worked hard enough to lose 7 lbs in 2 weeks but I'm hoping I've lost (hopefully) the 3 1/2 I put on plus a bit more for luck!

How are you two going? Tis tricky as it's school holidays and Easter is looming so we will have to slalom the eggs.

But hey ho......onwards and downwards (scales wise)

TortoiseVEasterBunny · 19/04/2011 08:12

Good luck furball. Hope you have a good result.
TBH I have no idea how I am doing. Slipped back to eating some crisps and chocolate.
Think I will weigh myself this morning, once I get up lol!

Furball · 20/04/2011 12:10

4 lbs Grin I am well happy with that.

TortoiseVEasterBunny · 20/04/2011 14:13

Wow! Well done furball. Fab result.
I am 12st 7 1/2 today. About 1lb off I think.

Furball · 20/04/2011 21:51

I'm now12 stone 8 lbs tortoise - Race you down to 12 stone?

Furball · 20/04/2011 21:52

and well done on the 1lb Grin

TortoiseVEasterBunny · 21/04/2011 08:26

Challenge accepted! Grin I expect you will win though lol!

Smalline · 21/04/2011 09:00

Can I join the race down to 12 stone, I've only got 3 lbs to go, but the way I am going you'll probably both beat meGrin.

4lbs, wow Furball that is great going, you deserve that for being so good whilst awaySmile.

1lb is good too Tortoise especially during the school holidaysSmile.

I've noticed that over the last couple of days I haven't been eating much, probably because it is so hot, but the lack of walking and exercise is making me feel so unfit, I'm sort of looking forward to the holidays ending so I can get back to my normal routine, but I know I will miss these lazy days when they are finished.

TortoiseVEasterBunny · 21/04/2011 09:06

Of course you can Small. Unfair advantage but i don't mind lol! Grin I need to go back to not eating crisps and chocolate if i am going to stand any chance of beating you!! I have one Easter egg though! (Buy 1 get 2 free, one each for DS's and 1 for me!)

Furball · 21/04/2011 16:53

don't hand me the medal before I've crossed the line tortoise - it has taken me 12 weeks to loose 10 1/2lbs - admittedly it has been totally painfree, (which is amazing in itself) but still, I sure am dragging it out

Someone said they thought I looked narrower from behind today Wink

Had a super ice cream today (honeycomb flavour) and I managed to bring myself to order a 'just one scoop one' Hmm

smalline - 12 stone challenge accepted Grin

Furball · 22/04/2011 17:08

MIl has given me a bunch of bananas for Easter instead of an egg Hmm

I know it is for my own good, but I've just bought 2 bunches for the fruit bowl. [sigh] but at least they won't be getting me into any mischief. I'll just have to watch dh and ds eat their lovely chocolate eggs [sob]

TortoiseVEasterBunny · 22/04/2011 17:30

oh dear furball lol. You could make banana cake?

Furball · 23/04/2011 08:47

We've all overdosed on banana cake over the years and even the sight of one makes me feel queasy!

thought I might give this 'ice cream' a go

TortoiseVEasterBunny · 23/04/2011 13:19

Oh oh, what's that recipe where u put chocolate buttons in the banana, wrap in foil and put on the bbq or in oven! Yummy with ice cream!
