OK, new thread for 2010!

My aim is to have lost 2 stone by my Birthday on April 6th! Booking a weeks family holiday for that week and want to feel and look better!

So, weigh in Friday? I always find weekends harder so that would be a good day for me.

Smalline mmm roast dinner soup sounds interesting.
I normally do carrot, onion and leek or leek and potato. Sometime spicy butternut squash. Carrot and coriander is nice as well.

Good luck for 2010!

Doh! I read that you went back to SW don't know why I mentioned WW[bconfused]

Smalline · 29/01/2011 12:26

3.5lbs off this weekGrin. I'm celebrating by having a toasted cheese and marmite sandwich.

Furball · 29/01/2011 13:54

wow smalline - go girl! Grin

Tortoise · 29/01/2011 16:31

wOW WELL DONE sMALLINE FAB RESULT! oOOPS caps lock! Grin

Smalline · 30/01/2011 17:46

You are too kind ladies, 3 of those lbs are what I put on last week Blush

Tortoise · 07/02/2011 21:18

12st 10lb this morning in PJs. Sad Jeans too tight to wear comfortably. Sad

Haven't been shredding. Eating really badly. WTF is wrong with me? Sorry, i keep saying that and i am not getting any better!

Smalline · 08/02/2011 21:36

Oh dear Tortoise, do you think the weather has anything to do with it? I barely stayed the same last week, am counting myself lucky because chocolates and chocolate cake spring to mindBlush. I try to be good during the week, but at the weekend it's a different story, I think once the warmer weather comes and we can peel back the layers of clothes it might be a lot easier, well here's hoping anyway.

Tortoise · 08/02/2011 21:59

I don't know TBH small. I think it is just me lol! I wanted to be thinner in time for better weather, not fatter. Sad
If i am out, i can go all day without food. When i am at home i pick, pick, pick all the time. If i didn't do walk to school twice a day i would be massive i think!

Smalline · 09/02/2011 15:09

I know what you mean Tortoise about the school runs, I walk there 3 times a day now because I work there at lunchtimes, also taking the dog for walks helps, don't know what I will do when the kids no longer need walking to schoolGrin. I don't know what to suggest about the picking, the best thing I think is not to have anything in the house that you can pick atSmile

Tortoise · 09/02/2011 17:43

The trouble is that the food is for kids tea or lunch boxes. I don't know what else to give them they are always hungry lol. I need to get around to making some soup to fill me up too.

Tortoise · 09/02/2011 21:31

Right, today i have had -

2 pieces toast with butter and jam
2 penguins
Bag of hula hoops
2 pieces toast with a cheese triangle on each
Microwave meal! With 6 hash browns
About 150g yoghurt coated hazelnuts (god i love them but no idea how bad they are!)

Is that a bad day or ok?
Although compared to yesterday it is very good. I think i had 3 bags of crisps and probably 4 penguins yesterday plus other food! Blush

Smalline · 09/02/2011 21:54

Not good at all Tortoise, where is your fruit and veg? what was in the microwave meal? seems to me that you are grazing on snacky food and not eating enough proper meals to fill you up and stop you from snacking.

Today I had
B porridge with raisins
L 2 wholemeal chipatis with cheese spread & marmite, apple
D homemade shepherds pie, cauliflower & brocolli, lf yogurt, orange
Snacks 2 jaffa cakes, 1 glass of wine

I find that if I eat too much bread I get bloated, I probably eat less bread in a week than you have had in one day,

well you did ask didn't youSmile

Tortoise · 09/02/2011 22:26

Lol yes i did ask! Grin
Erm no fruit (Apart from in jam lol!) or veg (bad Tortoise!Sad)
Chicken tikka micro meal. Think it was a lower fat Tesco one.

I eat toast every morning. Haven't found anything else that is ok in the mornings. Milk makes me feel sick and bloated if i eat in on cereal in the mornings. Yogurts are the same.

I struggle with dinners now kids all have cooked school meals and lunch type food for tea after school. Hate cooking for one.

Furball · 10/02/2011 06:59

tortoise - I made this yesterday - you could have a couple of slices for breakfast?

Tis very nice.

I put on a 1 lb this week, due to weekend away with girls. and that was with restraint, gosh knows what would of happened if I'd of ate to their capacity. (and they're all thin.....)

Tortoise · 10/02/2011 11:16

Thanks Furball, doesn't look appetising but i am willing to give it a try. Smile

Bought some grapes today (does that win me some brownie points? Grin) and bananas.

Got carrots, leeks and onion to make an easy soup too. Smile

Not sure about dinner though!! Will be out from 4.45 until at least 8pm tonight at kids trampolining club then options meeting at DS1's school.

Furball · 10/02/2011 13:09

if you read the blurb it says something like from the ingredients it looks naff.

Give it a go, honest tis good.

Tortoise · 10/02/2011 13:11

Yes i read that lol which i why i thought i would try it Grin and because you recommend it!

So far today -
2 pieces toast with butter and jam!
Handful of grapes
Homemade soup (without bread Shock)

Smalline · 10/02/2011 22:00

What did you have for tea in the end Tortoise? your food choice looks a lot healthier today so yes you do win some brownie pointsGrin.

meals todays

B Porridge with raisins
L Jacket potato with chilli con carne & glass white wine (pub lunch)
D Homemade spicy bacon & lentil soup (am having it now whilst I type) it's been a very busy evening, will probably have a glass of wine in a minute.

I'll have to try that recipe Furball, I used to love all bran, used to have it regularly for breakfast, just had to be careful when I passed windBlushGrinGrin

Tortoise · 10/02/2011 22:50

Well, i had a banana and a medley snack bar while at trampoling then had 6 cream crackers with cheese spread on.

Then ruined it by having a double decker at about 9. Then 2 french fancies, packet of monster munch and another medley bar about 15 mins ago. Sad

I was going to lie and not mention that last bit but i think/hope posting it may help in the long run. Tomorrow is another day and i will keep trying. Have some soup left over for tomorrows lunch. Not much because Ds1 scoffed a bowl full, bloody kids lol! Grin

Tortoise · 10/02/2011 22:51

Could i have recipe for your soup please? Sounds nice. Smile

Smalline · 11/02/2011 10:38

Cook approx 1 cup of red lentils in about 2 cups of water with half to one stock cube, or follow cooking instructions on the packet,
in another pan, dry fry chopped bacon, add 1 chopped onion and fry with bacon until cooked,
I then crush half a teaspoon of each of the following whole dried spices, chillies, cumin & coriander but this is optional, still tastes lovely without spices, then add to the bacon and onion fry for another minute then add to lentils, simmer all ingredients together for a further 10 minutes or until lentils are fully cooked, if too thick just add water until it reaches the desirable consistency.

Tortoise · 11/02/2011 10:49

Thanks. Will get ingredients later and make that. How much does it make? Never had lentils.Smile

Tortoise · 11/02/2011 10:51

Oh and how much Bacon? Writing shopping list lol.

Smalline · 11/02/2011 18:11

I use a 125g pack of bacon pieces which I get from lidls (currently on special offer at £1.29 for double pack)Blush. Usually get 3 meals from that. My brother came over today whilst I was heating left over soup for my lunch today, he tasted the soup and well, lets say that I didn't get any!!! he said it was superb!!!

Oh and I will post later what I have eaten today, the weekend is my worst time, hopefully, if I post all I eat I won't eat too muchGrin.

Tortoise · 11/02/2011 19:44

Thanks. That will be my lunch tomorrow.
Got ingredients for that all bran cake thing too! Grin

Today so far i have had -
B 2 pieces toast with butter and jam (as usual ll!)
Snack - Banana.
L left over soup, packet of monster munch Blush
2 hand fulls yoghurt coated hazelnuts!
Kinder egg (in my defence DD's wanted me to have it!)
D Dunno yet! Very tempted by the chicken tikka pie in the fridge! But may have a ready meal! Lazy Friday night lol!

Will snack on grapes later if i want anything. I WILL NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE I MADE LAST NIGHT!!

May not be doing fab food wise but have eaten less than normally do and haven't been picking.
