OK, new thread for 2010!

My aim is to have lost 2 stone by my Birthday on April 6th! Booking a weeks family holiday for that week and want to feel and look better!

So, weigh in Friday? I always find weekends harder so that would be a good day for me.

Smalline mmm roast dinner soup sounds interesting.
I normally do carrot, onion and leek or leek and potato. Sometime spicy butternut squash. Carrot and coriander is nice as well.

Good luck for 2010!

Well done for shredding Tortoise sounds like you are on a roll, you go girl! Thanks for reminding me about the biggest loser, I wanted to watch it but forgot until I read your postGrin

I was aching myself yesterday from doing Davina's exercise dvd on Sunday, but forced myself to do my usual killer fit2fite class last night, I am so glad that I did it, I feel so much better todaySmile.

I don't have any gym equipment at home apart from weights which I use with my exercise dvds, I'm not sure I would use it if I had any to be honest.

Tortoise · 11/01/2011 10:18

My legs are killing me! Walking down hill/stairs is agony!
I was thinking i could do 30-1 hr on cross trainer once DC are at school than shred in evening. Will have to have a good think about it as i can't afford to throw away money lol!

Day 3 shred done just now. Already feel it is easdier than day 1. Managed to keep going through most of it without stopping (except skipping, had to go for a quick wee, damn pelvic floor lol!)

Furball · 12/01/2011 12:58

glad you seem to have got back on track tortoise

I feel like Del and Rodney - but........this time next year we could be..........slim-u-naires

I've attend Slimming World Today - am the size of a small bungalow this side of Birmingham - have done a weekly meal plan and have just returned from Tesco armed and dangerous.

am just tucking in to a a humungouse stirfry with noodles and sauce - tis very yummy.

Now next step is to keep it up Grin

Tortoise · 12/01/2011 13:41

Only exercise wise Furball. Still not in control of food. Sad I need to get some recipe/food ideas i think. Easy meals for 1!

slim-u-naires made me laugh!

Watch your portion size Wink! Stir fry does sound good though. I had chicken tikka long bap from local bakery Blush!

Furball · 12/01/2011 14:01

Thats why I love SW! - you can eat as much free food as you like, honest you wouldn't believe it until you've tried Grin

OK = meals for one - Lamb Stew with mash - do enough for 2 days on the trot. (or chuck a portion in the freezer)

omelette and salad

big pan of this minstrone - infact 1/2 pan would be ample for 2 meals - tis very very scrummy though. (tis the only meal my dh will eat without meat)

Stir fry!

Smalline · 12/01/2011 14:33

Well done Tortoise for keeping up with the shredding, just think, not only are you burning fat whilst exercising, but for up to 24 hours afterwards tooGrin.

Tortoise · 12/01/2011 17:52

MMmm the soup looks nice. Will give that a try.
Not keen on egg.
Hate tuna and all fish really lol!

Anymore ideas would be great. I may have a look at SW too although i can't get to any classes cos none nearby!

Furball · 12/01/2011 18:26

well....on SW if you wanted to eat the WHOLE PAN of minestrone - you COULD and you WOULD still lose weight Confused

tis a miracle I tell yah! Can't think why I went off the rails for so long really.

I've just made Shepherds pie with carrot/swede/potato mash

finished with strawberries and yoghurt

shame I'm goin to ruin all that tonight with 2 pints of lager. I only drink once a month and tonights that night.

Tortoise · 12/01/2011 21:19

Really? Sounds amazing.
I have ordered the Paul McKenna I can make you thin book and CD from Amazon (because of PM webchat!) and will give that a go again. Have tried in the past, looked for my old copy tonight and it has vanished! I am hoping it will help me with food as that is my biggest problem i think.

Furball · 13/01/2011 06:50

Yes I have Pauls book - got it off a MN'er more than a few years back. I haven't really looked at it Blush - but I totally believe it.

I have another book from yonks ago called The secrets of slim people which is the same principle.

Good luck with it [smile}

Tortoise · 13/01/2011 11:42

I thought i posted a message earlier. Where did it go? Hmm

Furball Maybe you could find your copy and give it a go? Worth a try. Smile

I know the basics of it and the rules so i am going to try and follow it as much as possible before the book and CD arrive.

Just had an unplanned cycle to the shop. Ran out of electric! Haven't cycled for a while it was hard work lol! Just under 2 miles in all. Still need to do todays shred!

Tortoise · 13/01/2011 12:30

Day 4 done. Smile
Now for lunch, i am hungry!

Tortoise · 18/01/2011 21:22

Paul McKenna book and CD has arrived. Listened to it last night. Started off the day really well. Then failed after eating a sandwich for lunch.
Oh well, will keep trying!
No shred since Thursday either. Sad

How are you both doing? Smile

Furball · 18/01/2011 22:13

I'm ok - weigh in tomorrow.

Have not strayed off the diet track all week, so would like to see at least 4lb gone.

I've just been eating lots of lovely fresh food. Planning is the key, lets hope I can keep it up.

Tortoise · 18/01/2011 22:16

Well done Furball. Fingers crossed for a good result. Smile

Furball · 19/01/2011 16:50

taa daa!

3 1/2 lbs off Grin GrinGrin

Tortoise · 19/01/2011 17:26

Oooh how fab Furball. Smile
Wish i could do that too Sad.

Tortoise · 26/01/2011 21:54

I have actually had a good day for a change! Maybe the Paul McKenna CD is starting to work! Grin
Currently resisting cake. I know i am not hungry so i am not going to have any!

I haven't shredded for quite a few days though.

I need to decide on a weigh in day as i still want to keep tabs on if i do manage to lose anything!

Hope you are both having a good week. Smile

Furball · 26/01/2011 22:07

Hello tortoise - I was just going to report in and see you've already posted.

Glad you are making progress.

I lost 1 lb this week, very painlessly. [bgrin]

Tortoise · 26/01/2011 22:38

Well done on 1lb loss. Smile
Still resisting cake! Not sure i will keep it up tomorrow! Tesco delivery due in the morning. But i have got things like individual pots of fruit in jelly for me and got Walkers baked crisps to try! Crisps are a big weakness! Grin

Furball · 27/01/2011 06:44

I can confirm Walkers baked crisps are rather scrummy! I buy them for myself ds

Smalline · 27/01/2011 10:34

Hello Tortoise and Furball, I have been good this week so farSmile, but I needed that cos I put on 3lbs last weekBlush, SIL brought a 350grms bar of chocolate into my house last week and left it here, that is what caused the damage, I just have no willpower whatsoever sometimes.

Good for you Tortoise for resisting cake, walkers baked crisps are good, lower in saturated fat I think, and tasty!

Well done on your loss Furball how much have you lost so far on WW?

Furball · 27/01/2011 10:41

WW did nothing for me smalline I went back to slimming world a few weeks back and have lost 4 1/2 lbs very painlessly Grin

Jump back on the wagon smalline - as I said to Tortoise :-

I feel like Del and Rodney - but........this time next year we could be..........slim-u-naires [bgrin]
