I think we decided to get together on facebook for secret purposes? don't much care for the rules but don't want Mnet in trouble.

bintofbohemia · 03/12/2009 19:26

ahaaa...is anyone on FB? Would really appreciate the password - I think they're going to close my account if I don't log in asap...

QandA · 03/12/2009 21:05

Bint, I have been having a lot of lemon flavoured things this week, really helping with my weight loss

Rialentless · 03/12/2009 22:09

bint - connie posted a hotmail address further down the thread which is her FB contact.

Lemon drops are my fave sweets & there aren't many syns in them. Lemon curd is fab on toast too - that's a tip I pikced up, something sweet without being too high in syns

Today was OK syn wise. Had a nice baked potato for lunch but dinner was a bit of a let down, 'cos MIL & FIL are off on hols tomorrow so DH & I had to call in to say bye etc tonight after our spin class - meaning we weren't home until 9.30pm. So we had spaghetti & toast for dinner

Dh is on night shifts & I always feel bad if he doesn't have a good dinner before he goes - not that I ever cook him it, but I feel bad that he didn't have tome to cook me himself a good dinner

Don't think I have plans for this weekend. Dh did the shopping today so at least the cupboards aren't bare! Have fruit left aside for lunch/breakfast tomorrow so may have to grab a tin of ravioli or boil myself an egg to take with me for lunch. Really fancy steak for dinner...... but that's all do-able.

Though I have to say, last week I used all my syns (probably more if I'm honest) and lost 2lb, don't know how I did it though!! Hopefully I can keep it up as would like another 2lb gone before Christmas to get my 2.5 stone award!

strange sort of evening here. visited my parents after school instead of after tea as I had plans for manic cleaning once the boys were asleep. had to leave in a hurry as my uncle came round in quite a state (my aunt is in hospital and keeps having setbacks and I think he thinks she won't be coming home). Plonked the boys in front of Miracle on 34th Street as a distraction tactic, and DS2 wasn't feeling like eating so we had a mishmash of potato skins with melted cheese (DS1s favourite), heinz tomato soup and sandwiches. I fell asleep putting the boys to bed, I have a feeling I was mid-conversation with DS1 about tidying his room/homework while I was dozing. Woke up feeling really crap - the fat on the potato skins maybe?

I really need to get a grip and re-motivate, but I am feeling completely overwhelmed by christmas and all the bits of my house I feel the need to clean with a toothbrush before then! I even cancelled my MHN appt today (not because I haven't managed to find time in the last 4 weeks to do the relaxation techniques she suggested, but because DH couldn't be at home on his break to watch the kids bloody christmas!) Am toying with the idea of going to see my HV next week (she used to be a MHN) for areferral to GP for --ADs- a bit of a rant. Current MHN has decided my problem is anxiety, but I am on the "wading through treacle" cycle ATM, but she isn't listening. Grrr! Get a grip Ria!!!

sorry for self-indulgent rant

Rialentless · 04/12/2009 10:33

morning all. positive but tired today. 2lb on. 100% green day today. I will try harder and succeed!

littleoldme · 04/12/2009 13:16

Connie - I tried to invite to my Fb but it wouldn't let me. Grrrr not sure if I'm being basic or if there's something wrong. I'll send you a good old fashioned e-mail instead. Well done no the weight loss that's fab.

Ria - sorry you are finding live so tough at the mo. I'm sending a virtual massive mug of Hot choc with cream and marsmallows (low fat, naturally)and a snuggily duvet to wrap yourself up in.

I've only lost about apound in the last three weeks ! Some of that is beacuse I spent a week at the inlaws where I was not on plan at all.I've only got 3 or 4 pounds to go until I'm at the weight I want be at so I'm not sure if I'll get there without hard core exercise and no syns??
Also , although the loss has really slowed I'm sure I'm losing inches - can that be poss. My stuff is definatley fitting better.

QandA · 04/12/2009 14:08

Ria, hope you are having a better day today. It is so much harder to stick to the plan if you are not feeling good. Green day is the way forward, I seem to be able to eat lots on it an there are some good recipes on the SW website.

littleoldme, I think you can feel it in your clothes more than the scales sometimes. I only lost 2lb this week, but felt a difference in my clothes more than previous weeks, though I suppose it builds up.

Connie, just keep thinking of that 2.5 stone award for motivation!

Am doing ok, so far, this week. But turning down cake to go with coffee when I am out with friends is tricky! Would be great to lose 3lb before Christmas to get my 1 stone award, but with all the Christmas events, I am not holding my breath.

Rialentless · 04/12/2009 15:51

thanks

haven't done any mad cleaning yet today (I WILL NOT fall asleep tonight before bedtime!) Spoke to Dsis in NZ on the phone and have spent all damned morning making fish pie for the boys, and my parents and my uncle (not good news from the hospital), I am having quorn fillets with rice Yum. Had a HEB bacon with egg, mushrooms and beans for lunch, and have a tub of sliced pineapple in the fridge. Plus a very nice wine for my syns tonight Just have to hope DH doesn't bring pizza home from work I can't resist freshly made pizza, will have SW chips and brown sauce if I need a treat.

lechuga · 04/12/2009 17:45

thanks for the porridge info all..
I can't find that Facebook link for Connie-can anyone help please? maybe the packet of minstrels I just ate have affected my ability to see! I did try to go to an aerobics class today-but it was cancelled...so I've just ate the minstrels whilst wearing my gym gear! lol

ConnieComplaint · 05/12/2009 00:01

LOM I think it won't let you add me because I'm not registered on FB with that email address It's an email I use only for this site

It's [email protected] for anyone who wants to email me their name & I'll add you to my list (I'm not a hairy trucker as anyone who is on there already will confirm - I shave quite regularly )

I know, I do keep thinking of the 2.5 stone award & I'm trying hard to eat all my syns as I know that's when I lose more...it seems mad to be saying the more I eat, the more I lose weight, but it's true, I have noticed it before & then last week was just the proof I needed!

I give a SW buddy a pair of size 16 black skinny jeans I squeezed into last Christmas, it's hard to believe I will be able to wear a size 12 this Christmas... I'm just having an epiphany here
My buddy was chuffed with the jeans as she has lost weight & didn't want to have to buy new jeans to have to fork out for more when she loses more weight!

And my sister visited tonight, she's so not the type to compliment, so I nearly died when she admired my jeans, then my top, then said "There's not a pick of meat on you these days...." OK so she was exaggerating wee bit, but it was still nice to know she noticed!! I have got more compliments the past few days than before, but I think that might be due to the fact I've bought new make-up LOL

-----------

RIA - Your house does not need cleaned with a toothbrush, however, mine does, so if I sent you a first class ticket to rainy sunny Ireland will you come & do mine? I can promise you food optimising potatoes, finest lamb & green beans... the potatoes & lamb being home grown & the beans stolen from MILs little veg patch... we have everything but them!! I can also promise you a listening ear & a cuddle, I'm good at those!! Perhaps a chat with your HV is a good idea. Does Christmas always cause you to struggle? I think I told you before about a friend of mine who always 'crashes' around this time of year?
It's the stress you put yourself under to be perfect - do you think the boys, your dh, your family will notice if there are dust bunnies under the sofa? Or care even if they do notice?

Chill... preferrably with a small glass of rose

ILoveChocolateKnickers · 05/12/2009 09:59

Hi all!

Going to the Panto this afternoon - im starting to feel all xmassy! Im taking my own wee bag of goodies though, so i am not tempted to eat the crap that they sell there. Taking a pack of cheese curls crisps (3.5 syns) 8 Mikados (4 syns) bottle of water, bottle of diet coke & a fruit salad!

Really hoping to get a 1.5 lb loss this week, to get my stone award.

ILoveChocolateKnickers · 05/12/2009 09:59

CC - you can point people towards my FB once you have added them xx

Rialentless · 05/12/2009 17:32

LOL Connie, if you knew how much I have wanted to visit Ireland since I was about 14! Sadly, my house does need cleaning (maybe not with a toothbrush) and my mother would notice if I didn't (though I think she'll know as we haven't invited her round here since last christmas, though me and the kids go to hers (a mecca of tidyness) most days.

I do struggle with xmas, but I think it's different struggling this year. I don't know, I might be OK again soon. I am guilty of putting too much pressure on myself though!

Have had 2 great days on SW, but have just found out that my aunt died this afternoon, and all I want to do now is stuff my face with baguette and butter I have had 2 tiny pieces as I needed paracetamol and I can't swallow them without food.

QandA · 05/12/2009 21:48

Ria, can't your mum help you with the tidying? If her house is a mecca of tidyness she may enjoy it! Really sorry to hear about your Aunt

You need some comfort eating, but it can be healthy. I had butternut squash stew again, from this months SW magazine, with cous cous and it was delicious, didn't feel like 'diet food' at all, very hearty and tasty.

ilove, hope you enjoyed the panto, I am impressed with your snack planning.

lechuga, it is really annoying when you get yourself to a class and it is cancelled, though I am sure the chocolate made it better

Connie, it is great that your Sister has acknowledged how well you have done at the size 12 jeans. Lucky for your SW buddy that you are doing so well.

I have been to a party and once again managed to avoid the buffet food, and as I was driving I had diet lemonade, so did well. Hope the scales reflect my restraint this week.

Rialentless · 05/12/2009 22:37

well done on the restraint QandA I would have to tidy up before my mum came round to help!!! SHe would love nothing more than sorting me out TBH, but I couldn't cope with the earache, she is very good when I or the boys are ill/DH is in hospital etc and takes my ironing or surplus washing if anyone is sick, but I couldn't cope with her helping round the house! Bless her, she'll be busy now supporting my uncle

how was the panto stripey? (am not a fan myself) DS1 wants to go and see a play at the local theatre because his friend from school is in the drama club based there. The tickets are hideously expensive.

of being able to give away size 16s (well, I could actually give mine away too, but for different reasons). My sis and I are currently supporting each other through our bad habits and fat-clothes sharing. It's so much easier when she isn't losing weight and having to be competitive

Nicola10 · 06/12/2009 09:50

Hi there, mind if I join you? Have started SW on my own last week but think I will try and join a group next week as I need all the support I can get.

Shrek - I'm in exactly the same position and indeed at almost the same weight - 11/4. I want to get to 11 but don;t think I will without much more exercise.

Fear not shrek - stakers count. My weigh ins happen every mon am in the nude as soon as I get out of bed. I've weighed myself in the evenings before and it varies loads from the morning.

knickers - thanks for the tips will try.
