OK, I'm back, and here it is!

I read a tip in an old SW mag the other week - "If you slip up at one meal, or have a blip day or whatever, put it behind you at the next meal, don't blow the whole day or week. and the "tip" bit - if you have a vase of 7 roses and one died, you wouldn't throw the other six away."

well done on the mountain again Connie

Sunday I spent at the adcent Sunday service at chapel, then a "picnic" lunch with Dsis and her kids on my living room floor. was nice, but not diet/exercise friendly.

ConnieComplaint · 30/11/2009 21:24

Aw, I heart Ria, she's the most understanding person I 'know'

Meanwhile I've just had a slice of white loaf toasted!!

The wee ones have no school tomorrow so they've been allowed to stay up later than usual & have 'bed time tea' with whie toast!! This is a treat as they normally have w/meal same as me!!

Am in binge mode now so had probably best go to bed!!!

I did advent chapel too! At feckin 9am!! Ours was very child orientated & my dd had a reading to do & ds had to carry up gifts! Even dh made it on Sunday! (unheard of )

I must try & remember the roses tip!!

aww, thanks Connie (sadly I don't seem to be able to take my own advice and am struggling, but hey, if I can help just one other person feel better than I do, then that's a step in the right direction)

Our chapel started at 10.30.It was lovely as they only have a family service when there is a 5th Sunday in the month (all the other family-orientated stuff being run by the super evangelical CoE church) and it is where DS2&3 were baptised, so it was nice to go(even though they all seem to be sour-faced old bats who hate children with a passion) DS2 and 3 carried the parcels (to symbolise the gift-day gifts) when the collection was taken to be blessed. DS3 (he is 2) was really chuffed and shouted "I took a happy birthday present" when he got back to our table (church here is very big on sitting round tables I prefer pews and dusty hymn books and organs TBH!) Our minister ATM is a kiwi, and used to live next door to Dsis's friends brother (or something - my middle Dsis lives in NZ, it made for a lovely christening for DS3 as BIL was able to chat to the minister about people they both knew and "home", while the rest of us did family stuff)

DH (yesterdy, as every day) was busy worshipping at his own shrine of stainless steel, gas flames and sharp knives

Hello all,

Guess what? I lost 4.5lbs Prior to getting on the scales I told them that I've probably put on as it's the time of the the month and that I'm really bloated.... so you can imagine my shock when she said that I've lost some weight.

I'm determined to be good this week but I know that it will be a challenge with 2 work lunches coming up.

Ria - thanks so much for that tip. It really puts it into perspective.

Welcome Killamarsh

littleoldme · 01/12/2009 08:45

Well done Friutgums - that's a fab loss !

Can anyone tell me if Weetabix counbt as an HE ? I can't seem to find them in my book.

ILoveStripeySocks · 01/12/2009 09:09

well done fruitgums! thats fab!

littleodlme - 2 weetabix = heb

They are bringing out a new SW book in January, and EE is going to be the main plan! Red & green will still be there for old members who feel they need to keep on it though, but new members will be pushed to do EE.

Also, pasta quiche will be synned and polenta will no longer be free (and I eat loads of polenta!)

Fruitgums · 01/12/2009 10:38

Thanks I'm really pleased I think i had a weight loss due to all the exercising that I did - cycled to work twice and my 1hr swimming lesson. Won't have the opportunity to do much exercise this week due to work commitments so will try to be really good on the foodie bit.

Stripey - how do you know that they are bringing new books out in january? It hasn't been mentioned in my group.

Also, does anyone know how to work out the Club 10 target? I can do it in kgs but haven't a clue on how to work it out in stones!

AuntieMaggie · 01/12/2009 12:18

Hello all

Sorry for being a stranger but I've had a manic time lately being ill and other stuff and have managed to put on some weight the past couple of weeks

I mainly do red or mix2max but have been struggling to get back on plan so have been doing EE.

The problem I find with EE is that I over do the carbs and thats not good for my weightloss!

Hope you're all well.

tullytwo · 01/12/2009 13:10

Thanks for your replies ladies. I resisted the lasagne and was pleased I did as I stood on the scales this morning and 2lbs had gone off-I knew I had lost weight I just find on WI day it sticks to me!

Hopefully this means I will have lost more this week so should be a happy girl next Monday at WI!

Am trying to stick to it 100% until xmas and then have a bit of a break-still so much to lose so I have too!

Lucie75 · 01/12/2009 13:25

I have had several bad weeks and amy trying to get back into it. It seems the closer we are to Xmas, the harder it is to stick to it.

I started SW in March and have lost 21lbs. I don't go to classes either but had all the books etc sent to me by SW when I joined.

Pringles are also my downfall, can easily eat half a tude in one sitting!

Oh, and the Thorntons toffee doesn't help either.

QandA · 01/12/2009 16:31

Hello all Well done on the losses.

Had a good weekend away and manged to stay within my daily syns pretty much, by limiting what I ate. It was difficult as I wasn't cooking, but I declined all desserts and treats. Keeping the food diary helped as I thought I had gone way over my syns, but when I looked at it written down it wasn't as bad as I has feared!

Will introduce myself for the new thread. I started SW 4 weeks ago, have had 3 weigh ins and lost 9lb so far on the green days.

Thanks for the recipe lanismum.

Ilove, would extra easy work for vegies?

sowhatis · 01/12/2009 19:28

Hi All,

Well I am most shocked - after a v v v bad week, (was making birthday cakes......so ate some!) and 2 bottles of champagne and a meal out i lost 0.5lb!!! Awful loss for me, but after this week i was expecting a LARGE gain - so very pleased!!!

hope you are all doing well. determined im going to have a good week this week

StrawberriesandCherries · 01/12/2009 19:52

Well done on all the losses, it's a fab feeling when you think you have maintained or put on and then find out you have lost isnt it!! Has happened only the once with me (am usually right and have put on )

Think I have done okish this week - weigh in tomorrow, have 1.5lbs to go to club 10, 2.5lbs for my next half stone, and 9.5lbs to target so am really hoping to achieve them all by end of the year

lechuga · 01/12/2009 20:46

hey! can anybody tell me what Ready made sachets of porridge count as a HE? Are there any supermarket own brand ones? it's getting too cold for weetabix now. thanks

Rialentless · 01/12/2009 21:47

wow! well done on the brilliant losses

IMO EE isn't as good for veggies as green days as you only get one each HEA & B.

OK, I will probably get this really wrong, but to work out your club 10 in stones, you have to convert your weight into lbs, so, for example 12 stone is equal to 168lbs. Then work out 10% of that, deduct it, and convert the answer back into stones by dividing by 14. HTH

well done to everyone who has resisted temptation too

bintofbohemia · 02/12/2009 13:33

hello everyone, long time no see! I need help - I need to get motivated and I can't! I start out alright but by 11am I fall off the wagon and I don't even care. Well, I do, but not enough, am just not in the right headspace, so could someone please try to kick my arse for me?

Anyone know the password please? Will log in and see if my weight going up on a graph will help me...

Fruitgums · 02/12/2009 17:09

Ria - many thanks for the formula.

Sowhatis - well done on your loss

Hope everyone else is doing well

QandA · 02/12/2009 21:06

Lechuga, I am not sure about the porridge, but it sounds like a good idea, I would be interested to know too.

Sowhatis, well done on the weight loss, good to know you can lose even after indulging have got quite a few Christmas events coming up and they are all 3 course meals.

Might try and work my club 10 out tonight Ria, so thanks for that.

Strawberries, you are so close now, must feel good to be nearly there.

Had my 4th weigh in this afternoon, lost another 2lb. Yay!

Mustlose · 02/12/2009 21:45

Hi Girls

Can I join you?

I joined SW back in September and have lost 15.5lbs. Had my first gain this week 0.5lbs I was changing weigh in day from Thursday to Tuesday, so only had a 5 day week, so it may be partly that, but a combination of the gain and the cold weather this week has meant I've lost it all a bit, so was wondering if I joined you, whether I'd pick up the inclination again!

Still got at least 2 stone to go though, so can't afford to stop now.

My DH is away for 6 months and he knows nothing about my dieting, so a) I'm hoping he'll notice a difference when he pops home for a week in January and b) I keep it up and manage to lose at least most of it by end March when he is home for good!

ConnieComplaint · 02/12/2009 22:48

Lechuga, a sachet of oat so simple is HEB.

Fruitgums, sowhatis, strawberries et al - wow!! Those are brilliant losses, especially you sowhat when you thought you'd gained!!

I have to admit I thought I would have a gain this week too, what with eating out on Sat night, having a chinese take away on Sunday & lunch out yesterday....but I guess that somewhere along the way I have learned to food optimise without really noticing, and I guess I made healthy choices without feeling hard done by - it's taken almost a year!

Anyway, I lost 2lb which is a total of 33lb altogether and leaves me with 13.5lb to target!!! I'm so pleased, if I can lose another 2lb before Christmas that'll be my 2.5stone target & I will relax a bit over Christmas knowing I am in control.

Ria, Stripey etc (can't remember who are FB buddies) I have left a msg for you on my profile

ILoveStripeySocks · 03/12/2009 08:14

I totally binged yesterday I was in agony with period pains, and for some reason all I wanted to do was eat. I was awful!

Am back to plan today though, and totally commited again. Going to put yesterday aside as a blip & just carry on as if it didnt happen

well done on all the losses!

StrawberriesandCherries · 03/12/2009 09:01

Thanks CC and QandA! Lost another wretched pound last night so slowly but surely it is going- 19.5lbs for me so far, 8.5lbs to go. The meetings really are the key to me staying on it, have very little willpower on my own i have realised. Am lucky though as all the family is interested in how i get on and even DD1 is noticing through her teenage/not noticing much eyes!!

ILSS - as my consultant says, that's what flexisyns are for! and it's only one day out of 7 - we all need a good old binge sometimes. When i do it (sometimes ) seems to speed up my metabolism for that week and I lose a little more, so you will be fine am sure

Well done sowhatis, QandA and CC et all on your losses - you are all doing amazingly!

Welcome BintofBohemia and Mustlose, hope you find this thread of use, it has some great ideas on it and the blog is great to follow.

Oh, and are we saying the password now?Dont want to get MN in trouble!! Not sure what was decided

bintofbohemia · 03/12/2009 09:08

Morning - help me out chaps - I made a bakewell tart yseterday and it's still there shouting at me. I lost 4 stones last year and have put 4 pounds back on and if I don't stop it now it's a slippery slope. I need to lose a stone and a half ideally!

Was password sharing banned? It's been a while since I've been on these threads (hence the backwards slide into seasonal eating!)

StrawberriesandCherries · 03/12/2009 09:33

Not very helpful but i would say HAVE SOME!!Otherwise you may feel deprived and things become harder (or is that just me?!) You get 15 syns a day so keep them for that as an end of the day treat
