Hi, can I join this thread?
Have just rejoined SW yesterday to shift the last of my baby weight, now that she's 1 I can't still call it baby weight lol!
Have successfully done SW in the past and was at target for a while, so I know it works!
Looking forward to the extra easy plan, it is great to be able to have meals like cottage pie/spag bol etc withoot worrying about weighing and measuring!
Here's hoping to a good loss next week!!

miracled · 24/08/2010 15:31

Good luck littlemefi. It just so happens that I am making a bolognese cottage pie atm (using grated parmesan in mash from heatlthy extra).

I know this is a SW thread but perhaps WW is more you? Bread is one point a slice so if you really miss it then it may be more workable for you? Don't give up entirely though, it would be a real shame. Wine is my downfall, I'm saving most of my syns in the week for wine and a bit of leeway on the saturday night meal, which I am not sure is ideal.

SatanOnAScooter · 26/08/2010 20:25

Could someone help with a HEB question?

I'm doing green days, if i have a breaded cod fillet which I reckon is about 12 sins (I might be over egging it a little) and use that as my b choice, can I deduct 6 sins from the total?

TIA

miracled · 26/08/2010 21:51

I would if it were me!

miracled · 27/08/2010 21:33

This is weird, or it could be just me: We are going away next week and hopefully will be eating out some of the time. Since both DP and I are doing SW we were thinking of going to somewhere that does steaks etc. & kids meals. I looked in the SW food directory and was staggered to find that a steak, jacket potato, grilled mushroom & tomato was 43 syns in J D Wetherspoon (Beefeater etc. were not listed). How can this be when all this food is supposed to be free on EE if grilled and fat cut off? Or am I missing a really big point?

they maybe deep fry the mushrooms too? some chefs deep fry roasties to heat them up, but afaik jackets are usually microwaved.

am hacked off, it is 2 weeks since I weighed in as I didn't have time before we went away, and I am back from a week of carefully planned SW meals, and almost 28 miles of walking in the Dales, and I am 3lb heavier. Not a happy bunnySad Am taking the day off and hopefully will locate my motivation for tomorrow morning. Pah and double Pah!

Dazmum · 02/09/2010 10:34

Hi all, I crept back to SW last night having stayed away for a couple of weeks. I had put on for about three weeks before that and just couldn't face going back to see more going on, I guess my head just wasn't in the right place. It was even irritating me to sit and hear how well others were doing, which is a bit mean!

But, I was really happy to find I'd lost 2 1/2 lbs! It's made me feel better and I'm back being determined again.

Riadingbetweenthelines · 02/09/2010 17:45

well done dazmum, that's great. it isdifficult to keep going when you're gaining isn't it? I was doing OK today, and then stupidly ate some chocolate (too much to synBlush). Need to get my momentum back too. New magazine out though soon isn't it? That usually helps.

HopOnLegolas · 02/09/2010 23:20

Hello lovely ladies,

Could I ask for some advice? I am contemplating SW and from their website I really cannot gage if it is right for me! I am currently BMI 28.5 and would like to go down to healthy 24.9! So in my case that means just under 2 stone. Is anyone trying to lose a similar amount of weight? How long could it take?

Also, does it require specific recipes / cooking or can you just appropriate your usual cooking?

I am also going to join the gym!

Thanks, all advice received gratefully.

Dazmum · 05/09/2010 17:49

Thanks Ria! I bought the mag at group and there's a booklet of recipes and some nice ones inside too. Had another go at the Valencian Paella on Friday, and the old sweet and sour pork yesterday, lovely! Determined now to get back to target by beginning of December. Have 10lbs to go, doesn't seem much but they love me so much they don't want to leave, and keep coming back Grin

HopOnLegolas, welcome! It can take a really short time or ages like me, all depends how much you stick to it. Have a look at the magazine, as there are lots of sucess stories showing how people managed, starting weights and how long it took. You can adapt your own cooking, that's the good thing about it, and you are bound to get quick results with the gym added in. Good luck.

Riadingbetweenthelines · 06/09/2010 13:35

the mag sounds good. I will pick it up when I go to the supermarket later in the week. I have stupidly started reading cookbooks though and have planned some very unfriendly recipes for the week. (Am trying to occupy myself as DS3 started nursey todaySad)

will have to get back to it though cos I feel like a big fat lump.

good luck with that target dazmum.Smile

miracled · 06/09/2010 13:43

Well done Dazmum, I went on holiday last week and ate several takeaways and had wine every night, got on the Wii when I got back and was staggered to find I'd lost 2 lbs. Unfortunately its gone back on again for no reason, so it was lurking around waiting to sneak out at me! Have hit the Wii big time doing 'free step' to get it off.

HopOnLegolas, I trawl through my cookbooks and adapt the recipes, not too bad actually. I prefer this diet to WW as you can eats lots, once I got my head round how little bread you can eat (I know I can syn it but I save them for my precious wine!).

Riadingbetweenthelines · 07/09/2010 13:26

I have just been to a new dance class, and I felt like a hippo!Sad Will be heading to the supermarket later for the new mag...

What do you think is a reasonable goal by christmas?

Dazmum · 07/09/2010 20:22

Well done for going to a dance class, I had a card through the door and thought about going to Legs, Bums and Tums, and that's as far as I got! Oh, then I walked to the bin and put it in Blush

If you actually want to set yourself a goal for Christmas, and you don't have to, just be realistic, based on how you have done so far and allowing for some potential hiccups, then you won't get disheartened. Have you got to your club10 yet? If that's not too far away, go for that and if you exceed it, then that'll be even better. If this is your first Christmas on SW then you might just want to lose as much as you can by then without putting an actual figure to it, and be prepared to put as little as possible on over the holiday. The first year I didn't put any on (how, I have no idea) the second year I thought I was doing the same but put on 6!! One of the best things that the consultant did was make us guess how many syns in all the various chocolates, that's enough to put you off!

littlemefi · 08/09/2010 17:03

Hi, does anybody know how much Mugshot soups are on extraeasy? couldn't find it in my groups directory or on SW website. In my old 2006 directory they were free or low syns on green.

miracled · 08/09/2010 18:47

Hi littlemelfi, Chicken, Chow Mein, spicy sweet & sour, roast chicken and tomato & herb noodles are all free on EE according to my newish directory. The rest are between 0.5 and about 2 syns.

littlemefi · 09/09/2010 15:48

Thanks miracled, I think I might have to buy the directory, just had a tesco tomato and herb pasta packet, THEN looked it up on syns online! 6 syns Shock and it wasn't even that nice! Oh well, maybe stick to the mugshots next time!

miracled · 09/09/2010 17:26

I didn't like the mugshots that I have tried tbh, Batchelors savoury rice is free and you get loads but much longer to cook. The directory I have has a purplish colour but loads of stuff I thought would be there is missing, including lots of eating out places (Nando's for instance).

well done with the losses octopus. Not doing well here, I aren't coping too well with the kids going back to school, especially DS3 being out 2 mornings a week after lots of crying before he goesSad

littlemefi · 10/09/2010 12:17

THanks, miracled will give the savoury rice a go, I used to have those before and they fill a gap!
